What about Elegoo water washable resin?
Answer to your question: Yes, please more content on different painting techniques or tools. I really like that you ALWAYS! consider an audience which is lacking basic knowledge/ best practices about specific workflows, when creating your videos. This is really helpful for beginners, but I think that even some advanced painters out there might be able to profit from the repitition of basics.
samesies. always something to learn. what was that rust effect stuff you mentioned? it looks awesome!
Agree with this as well!
I would love more hobby centric videos! In general I just really enjoy watching people paint models regardless if it's a tutorial video or not. It's just satisfying to watch, ya' know?
I am 100% for seeing more miniature painting stuff. I think casting your net wide would give your channel more appeal and resiliance to quiet 3D printing times.
By all means I'd love to watch more varied videos! Your approach to reviewing 3D printers would, I think, lend itself to other tools of the hobby quite well, so go for it. Please.
I am getting into the hobbies of 3D printing and painting and I have found your reviews and videos to be top notch! I will happy watch anything you're doing! Well done!
Love to see everybody's different approach to the hobby. Thanks for your time and effort.
Nice to see OPR getting some more love, been subscribed to them for awhile now. I wish more people knew about the GW alternatives.
Hello! Please do more hobby centered videos. I always find them very helpful. Even if I've seen dozens of videos, I still pick up a new tip or trick.
Absolutely add more content around hobby tools other than printers!
I would love to hear about more tools for the hobby. I think the painting tutorial videos are oversaturated on TH-cam, but things like carrying cases, brushes, paints, display cases, etc. isn't something well covered. As a crafting DM, I have plenty of channels on making things, but a channel covering these tools and accessories would be great (aside from being my go-to channel for all things resin printers)!
I would love more videos on painting techniques and different tools. I love painting and I do have an airbrush but getting the paint to go where I want it too has been a struggle. Thanks for another great video :)
Beginner here and I'm learning quite a bit. One thing that I've been a little wary about is painting the models I want to print. It's kind of scary! Thanks for the video. Very informative.
No Fauxhammer, you're the hot tool right now...
...is this how you compliment?
I’ll take it as one
For the priming phase I highly recommend either the AK Primer and Microfiller from the Xtreme Metal Range or the spray can AK microfiller.
It really bonds to the mini and fills any layer lines that might be visible very well.
The approach is the same as with any primer 2 to 3 very thin coats then one final slightly thicker coat
A very informative video! I had never seen the "slapchop" method of painting before. It's given me an idea for painting a "ghost" effect on a larger injection molded styrene figure kit that I've been working on for years.
Fauxhammer is one of the reason i started to really get into 3d printing. all the printer reviews really helped me out. Its too bad i didnt learn about it before i bought my first printer else i would have bought a gktwo to start.
The Videos That Keep On Giving! Thank You For Such Detail And Guidance.
Been loving these series you've been doing! I appreciate how the time you put into all your videos and how thorough you are. Always very informative and entertaining, but most important, with safety always in mind. I appreciate that very much. Thanks for what you're doing for the community and keep up the great work!!! Thanks mate!
I'd love to see in-depth air brush (and compressor?) reviews in the style of your printer reviews. Not just "Button good, flow smooth", but the little things that other reviewers can't/don't pick out for whatever reason.
I’ve always wanted to get into mini painting. And find these videos about the basics very informative.
Thumbs up for branching out to other hobby subjects.
Thanks for the great overview, it flowed really well.
Really enjoy watching others hobbying techniques. Please continue with this kind of content.
Great video as always. genuine great advice for anyone how starts painting
I've definitely gotten more interested in painting miniatures and statues and what not so this is cool to see
Thanks for bringing up OPR, and for the video
I definitely have learned some useful information from your videos and reviews. Thank you!
Thanks for another excellent vid! I find keeping it simple always best, so keep the back to basic vids coming!!
Just looking into resin printing and miniatures. Your videos have been informative and encouraging for new comers!
thanks for making an intro series :) very handy to show to people
Even though miniatures are not my cup of tea, the techniques you display here are very valuable even for the type of products I would love to make with a resin printer! Really nice to see your skills and technique here :]
Looking forward to part 4 and 5 of 2. 3D modeling and 3D scanning. There is always more that can be covered. Thank you for the helpful info. Keep them coming.
I love to see different peoples' approaches to patinting models. I take the parts that work for me and apply them to my one process 🙂 I pretty much always pick up a tip or two from everyone and I've been panting minis for longer than Citadel has been making paint!
Yes, do more varied equipment! I’ll check out your recommendations, tutorials and brushes.
Great vid. Love the painting, love the shoutouts to other great hobby TH-camrs and yes please to more hobby videos to compliment the printer vids. Keep up the awesome work!
100% yes, please bring anything hobby related, your content is brilliantly done and love watching. So thank you and keep it coming.
Dry brushing for the win. Love how it pulls the details out. I like the “back to basics” videos.
Thank you!
I'm more of a scale model and diorama builder and only dabble in figures, but most of that still translates quite well.
This denser content is huge improvement on your previous videos. Painting videos are good content to have going
As the other videos great information and plainly explained. Never thought about how my primer coat changes the outcome of my top coats, really helpful information.
Keep up the good stuff and would love to see more painting tips
so nice to have printing and painting all in one. Thanks!
that brings me back to my scale model days. Now I can print that stuff and paint it lol. Eventhough I mostly do engineering parts.
Loved this one and would love to see more painting tips/workshop tour type of thing.
Yes to more miniature painting videos please, just starting out and concentrating on keeping between the lines is my current goal, would be great to maybe go into depth on watering down paints, mixing etc. Do you have a video on prepping large models, gluing, filling in crevasses, what you use etc?
Your channel is great. All your topics are relevant and useful. Your detailed, specific, and orderly - so make the vids how you see fit and don't worry if someone thinks your taking too long to "get to the point". This hobby is all about the bloody details to begin with so if someone thinks you need to "just get on with it" I suspect they also only ever want to know "what's your exposure time?" and little else (and wonder why they keep getting crappy prints). Nope. Just keep doing it the way you want. You're consistently spot on mate.
This is really helpful. I am about to start painting my first miniatures from the Stormlight Archive kickstarter.
Nice, i just printed some minis and this really helps.
Absolutely I'd enjoy videos about other parts of the hobby. My main reason for interest in resin printers is the printing and painting a much larger variety of minis.
Yes mate. Do some more painting stuff. Don't get me wrong you have helped no end with my printer purchase and I always direct others to your channel for printing reviews but as someone who has watched all your stuff I would love to see more of the painting side of things.
Great learning about paint. Thanks again!
Thank you for making an extra part to the series!
I'd like to start painting my minis eventually so I'd be interested to see more of your videos on the topic!
But first I want to get better at actually printing the minis lol
I've started following your channel for the 3D printing stuff, but that being said, I'd love to hear more about painting and all the other aspects of the hobby.
nice tips, love painting my prints and realy make them pop.
Yes. Please do more videos on painting 3D printing and other hobby topics in general. Big fan of your no-nonsense opinions that get straight to the point.
100% agree with the speed painting/army painting comment. I have realized that my hobby IS 3D printing, so anything that gets my models painted faster is golden. Probably why I like guy so much.
Definitely would like to see reviews/guides on other tools and products since miniature painting actually got me interested in 3d printing :)
Yes please, on branching out into other hobby tools and techniques.
video 3 of a 2 part series, HA! nice one Ross
Personally I'm a painter not a gamer, and the building, and painting is all the fun for me!
I would love to see more about other tools you use, and especially hear about things you've tried that didn't work so well.
I like this video a lot, I also love to print my models and then paint. I’d love to see some more paintings and possibly some tutorials for painting. I have my first resin printer ordered which is the Phrozen sonic mighty Revo. Can’t wait to try resin. My Bambu lab printers are amazing but can’t capture that insane level of detail. Also I need a review for that Revo! lol awesome content keep it up!
Never fails 👍. Top stuff, thanks.
I would love some videos on paint and painting! Even suggestion on how to paint terrain quickly and efficiently.
Great video as always ! Thanks for the great content
I like the "back to basics" approach.
❤ thanks for all the tips and insights
Good advice and useful techniques. Always wanted to airbrush but lacked confidence, dry brushing seems a great place to start though. 👍
Yes more of these!!!!
Amazing as always!
great video like before! I recently found out you can make your own texture paint with sand and watered down pva glue, mix in some paint and it's ready to go for anything you might need, and you can keep it mixed in an airtight container with no problem.
I liked seeing the painting, I think you should include some painting videos more regularly on models that you have printed.
Chaos Black, then paint. Never fails.
Nice culmination to a beginners guide.
Yes, I thank a lot of people. I would like to see more on the painting side. I would also like to see resin reviews as well. Different brands versions of clears or tough resins, best for its worth and what to avoid cause I know that's a big problem beginners don't know where to srart
I appreciate these videos. I'm waiting for my first resin printer to show up next month (ugh, the wait!) and I'm famously clumsy and incompetent at anything artistic. But I'd sure love to make decent looking models now that I'll have the capability to print them...
More detailed model painting and techniques would be great ... recently just got into 3D printing but only fdm but seriously looking at a resin printer after seeing the detailed models they produce. so going to hit up your review videos before I take the plunge and make my mind ....keep up the great work !.
This is an entirely new world for me and the video is incredibly helpful as to how I can get started if I win the printer
Great video! I'd love more info on airbrushes, brushes in general that you'd recommend and other tools that make painting miniatures easier and more successful.
great paint job!
I say yes to the question sounds great would be cool to find out what products are available out there. Also great channel recommendations for painting Duncan is the man !! And I also agree about your approach to painting being therapeutic. Im currently creating a major 40K narrative requiring a ton ov conversions and top quality painting so honestly the whole process is so rewarding creating characters you’ve been working on for years finally brought to life. I use to study 3d animation and wanna get back into it to creating and sculpt figures myself and maybe animate some stuff to anyway to translate my ideas would be sweet. Again thanks for great video mate always appreciated here best of luck to the winner 😁🫡
Yes more paint videos please
I would absolutely appreaciate content related to paint techniches and tools, I am on the boat of making it easier to enjoy more of the miniature when you don't want to make an art piece out of everything.
I havent done any painting before. I might try it
If you're priming with airbrush primer, I recommend a drop of matt varnish in your primer. Airbrush primers lack the binding agent of rattle cans, and on resin in particular, I've found that the paint will chip off easily. Alterantively, you can also just throw a quick coat of varnish on after the original priming layer.
Love the video as always
Wonderful a painting tutorial
Nice introduction to painting models. I am just starting out painting my 3d prints, and I like to see, what kind of techniques are out there. :D
Great video as always
ive Finally been messing around with Speedpaints myself, picked up the "Battletech starter" paint set from The Army Painter, its got 5 of thier speedspaints in it (although they give them battletech related names, they are duplicates of other speedpaints they sell), very very slowly learning how to use them and contrast and all that jazz
Very useful, thanks for sharing
Just bought the bundle using your code, so thanks for that :D
Also they did give 8kg resin with the order, wich is nice.
I think that if you’re an expert in one field, like 3D printing, you should focus on that or risk diluting your brand. Your 3D printing videos are excellent and I love them, so if you want to expand on range, I would like to see a constant connection to 3D printing rather than jumping to painting for example (there’s so many painting videos already out there you see, but few people do 3D printing vids as well as you). Keep up the good work!
on my ender fdm i've never had good prints for miniatures, but since a have my bambu p1 series, goddamn im back into miniatures.. its amazing what the latest fdm printers can do
Hobby videos are great next to the reviews! Maybe a video on the best 3D printed hobby tools/helpers? 👀
i would love to see more details on YOUR techniques on how to paint and on wich tools to use for each techniques. as for now a followed all of your tips and i can't be more happy. i even become friend with some of the uniformation staff because they wanted to know how i was able to print on 0.75 sec. exposure. i just said that i followed all of your tips and tricks and that you pointed me in the direction i needed to learn and become better at each print :) so i wanna do the same thing with my painting skills. and now, it's done, done and done 🤣😂
I’m just getting into 3d printing. I just got a Saturn 3 the other day. I think painting will be the toughest and most tedious of the processes doing this.
Although I mainly print busts and sculptures these techniques are still really useful, joined the channel as you're content has been pretty helpful on helping me decide on a resin printer (would love the GKTwo but not sure my budget will stretch just yet)
this was good I'm not much of a painter but this make me think I can di better
this is just good advice all round
Great video dude, lots of really good advice. 👍
Thanks Brother
