You cant put all the blame on the front 7, Durkin playcalling is giving us a front 3 with our best pass rushers dropping back into coverage. I think our front 7 is the backbone of our defense. I'm sad that Durkin doesn't realize this and he is going to allow every good QB in the SEC to pick our DBs apart. Not sure why we are putting all of this pressure on our weakest part of the defense. It's a new level of wtf are we doing?

I felt something good with Hank. I believe what he did against New Mexico he can do against Arkansas and Oklahoma. I really really do.
The difference I noticed between Hank and Payton is Hank read the defense and knew the area he was going to throw to because of Match up but never would stare it down until the last second.
I hope this Qb change is going to help us . I believe so
Not worried about Travis Williams. Now Petrino is a different story. And Venables will be a test with Oklahoma. But, I think Hank is our best shot for now.

But Hank did take some shots while throwing and completed the passes. Thorne would have ran it out for little to no yards.
And I think Malcolm Simmons HAS to be involved way more. Everything he does is electric. You put him in the field where they have to worry about him helps the rest of the offensive game plan.

Why in the hell do we have our best pass rushers dropping into coverage and our best nickel corner playing outside corner and our fastest receiver playing Simmons reduced to a running back and our biggest receiver and most physical receiver Perry Thompson playing 3 downs a game?We have no pass rush to help these DBs in coverage. Let’s get keys back rushing the passer and take Scott back to nickel and actually use Simmons and Perry. Unbelievable

The difference in Payton , 5th (or 6th) year CFB QB is unfair to a 1st or 2nd year player. Payton’s problems center in his mind. Very similar to Jeremy Johnson.

I'd rather he told me what he honestly thinks. But I think Hank is a gamer. At worst, we are going to win just as many games with Hank as we may have ever won with Payton.
Freeze lost the cal game. Period. He let the clock hit zero and stubbornness lost that game. Gus malzahn was known for this also. Go down with the ship mentality. I mean I would play a true freshman to see if he can spark our team before rolling out Thorne on 8 drives and him turn it over on half of those drives. I don’t need to see anymore. Defense sucks
Hugh needs to hire a new DB coach because our DBs are not good and they look lost 85% of the time!
Nothing wrong with those coaches! We have very young DB's and lack of experience! Also they had them putting too much emphasis on the NM QB for his running! They did slow him down which caused more passing with open receivers! I think we see a big different game plan this week!
We knew going into the season the secondary was going to be a trouble spot. They are very young back there!
That guy you want to get rid of has put multiple db’s in the first and second round the last couple of years..
