Arkansas has key secondary injuries and our history at Auburn, mostly not Auburn players, cause us concern for this game.

Even if Arkansas is the better team, the refs will give it to auburn. They will either rule a fumble not a fumble, rule a fumble as an incomplete pass, lock our coaches in the elevator, or magically give a crucial first down to auburn even though they went out of bounds a full 2 yards before the sticks. We should have a good 3+ more wins at auburn the last 10 years.

Hank Brown's average time to throw with over a second faster than Payton
Yep...2 seconds flat and the ball was out. And thst was his first ever start. It'll only get better
I think people are laser focused on the 3-5 late throws (don't remember) that he had at the expense of his otherwise very solid decision-making. It's only a one game sample size against a not-great opponent but he seems much better than Thorne who couldn't anticipate and refused to look to a checkdown in a timely manner
Wdym Hank doesn’t have the arm Thorne does? All the players and staff have said multiple times that Hank is the most accurate and has the strongest arm on the roster😂
If he's the most accurate and has the strongest arm of anyone on the roster, then the only thing keeping him off the field behind Thorne would be poor decision making, and if his decision making was worse than Thorne, that says a LOT about how bad his decision making is.
That or Hugh Freeze is a moron.

I think the aura is specifically only there when they are home underdogs. I think there is a stat to back it up that they cover the spread as a home underdogs more than most teams.
Also I don't think HB gets the ball out late at all, PT on the other hand, totally late.
Also what are you talking about Cal ran on Auburn? Auburn's run defense has been the shining light this season, if anything Arkansas should definitely be worried that they will be one dimensional on the passing side. Cal ran for 99 yds total, NM 157, passing defense is Auburn's problem.
As an arkansas fan I think it’s crazy both fan bases can’t really be confident rn and both need this win to feel like they can show any type of progress this season so this is gonna be a crazy game and much needed win for both teams 🤦♂️😂
The reason auburn fans are down on their team is because they some how think they’re a playoff team when they’re not. Us hog fans are down because we are god awful trash.
Our entire secondary is hurt (for Arkansas) and we are really lacking depth there

@@jofra3147 Ya but I still think we have a pretty good chance. Hank Brown is still very unproven and played one of the worst FBS defenses who literally lost to FCS. Payton Thorne also looked like a beast against Alabama AM and look how that played out. We are definitely going to need to get pressure and force turnovers to have a chance in this one

Had to log in just to make this comment…what the heck is Cole smoking? Hank throws freaking lasers. His average time to throw is almost a full second less than Thorne. He throws absolute bombs. He isn’t a running quarterback but he has a way better arm than Thorne.

Arkansas can put 40 up on almost anyone. If Arkansas can't get any QB pressure Auburn will win. Plus Arkansas always gets epically screwed by the refs vs Auburn

Cubelic is not watching the same Hank Brown that I am. He is getting the ball out of his hands in 2 seconds on average. Much faster than Thorne.

You realize the majority of those turnovers were Payton Thorne throwing interceptions? He’s not the starter anymore, so that’s kinda a moot point. Three or four of those were fumbles, and half of those were in the pouring rain.

More than one thing can be true at one time. Taylen Green can give it back and Auburn can turn it over. It’s not an either/or
Auburn really struggled against Cal. Arkansas looks better on paper.
Auburn's D got burned a ton in the first half of the Cal game. They repeatedly hit that TE (#87) in the flat, and Auburn didn't adjust defensively until the 2nd half. Thorne's 4 INTs (technically 5), and Hunter's fumble didn't help either. Auburn has to get the TOs under control. Luckily, Hank didn't throw any picks, but there were a handful of throws that were a little risky.
Arkansas really struggled with a G5 program.
Whichever defense can limit the other's running game should win.
As an Arkansas fan, I'm just tired of wishful thinking. I just don't know what to think! 🤦🏾♂️

This one is hard to pick. Auburn's D has looked like hot garbage in the last 2 games, at least in the first half. I don't know how Green compares to Dampier, but that guy made Auburn's D look like Keystone Cops at times.

how explosive arkansas offense is and how bad auburns d line is i can see arkansas putting up 600 yards of offense with a score of 35-17. auburns qb has played 1 game and has not faced a SEC caliper defense he has only faced new mexico who is ranked 7 from the bottom of the worst defenses in the nation. yes look it up its true not my opinion

Hogs have the more talented team. They are loaded. I think it is a breakthrough game for them. However, nobody's know for sure which Hog team will show up. It could get nasty and sloppy if Auburn takes an early lead.

JHS under Freeze has not been that great. The only wins are UMass, Miss St., Samford, AAMU, New Mexico with losses to Cal and NMSU.

@@chrisb2535 Auburn refs have a history of gifting the game to Auburn when arkansas comes to play. 2020 was just the most recent of a long list. Maybe if we are winning by 3 scores at halftime the coaches won't get locked in the elevator "accidently"

Yep. Arky looked really good at OSU, but looked like crap vs. UAB. Auburn looked good so far against weak opponents, but looked bad vs. Cal. Auburn lost the Cal game because of turnovers (5 total), so it will probably come down to who wins the TO battle.
This is an absolute toss up…sad since I’m an AU fan. If Freeze put more emphasis on the run game I’d feel a lot better that AU comes out on top. Petrino is great. AU has to control the time of possession. Not confident Freeze will do that
That has been surprising so far this season that Coach Freeze doesn’t seem to want to lean on the run game as much as I would have expected. This should be a pretty good game though and I think both teams are close to equal in ability but I’d give the Tigers a nod with the game being on the Plains. You’re right though, could go either way…

I think both teams gonna load the box to force the QB to beat them with his arms and it’ll take about 2 drives before Arkansas realizes you cannot go one on one with Auburns receivers anymore. Once Auburn forces them to play honest on defense and not load the box, it’s over especially in Jordan-Hare.

This really brings to light that the SEC has some really bad teams this year. Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida, Miss State, Vanderbilt are all TERRIBLE. There is three teams that are middle of the road and then six good teams. It just doesn't seem like the SEC anymore.

Such thoughtful analysis, they should give you a mic. There’s no way a redshirt freshman does well vs this shutdown Arkansas D that gave up 27 to UAB.
There was no melt down against ok state. They made adjustments at half time that took out our short passing game, and severely limited the run attack. Arkansas didn’t lose. Ok state won.

Lol, no. The hogs absolutely gifted that game to OSU. Out of 338 games with similar stats to that game (550+ yards, out gaining opponent by 200+ yards), Arkansas was the only one to to lose. 337 to 1, Arkansas wins that game. But a muffed punt, an interception, a fumble, and 2 missed field goals... and STILL nearly won. OSU got outplayed, but not outlucked.
