You tried your best JF. Why not use a small film of crazy glue and color the repair (repair=glue) ? Avoid getting the bump under the seat cover. Roland
My guess Woulda patched from the inside bottom to reattach the fiber/tear and position it as tight to the puzzle PC'D back and then do the seam/sealer color touch... That's it nvr perfect but looking like a factory blemish/repair to a survivor seat...
I've done the same type of repair on a lazy boy recliner and used a vinyl repair kit from Amazon and it worked extremely well and cost about $17 . Just sayin
