My sister and I visited your area last month from northwest Ohio, and from suggestions from MB through Etsy, we stopped at many of your favorite shops and thrift stores! We documented these stops with taking our picture in front of the signs. We found your cottages by a pleasant surprise as we were exploring the back roads! There was a young guy on the porch who noticed us being so excited and just smiled when I shouted out the window, “we’re big fans of Mary’s!!” That made our entire day!! We look forward to renting one for a weekend! We are big fans of yours Mary and love everything you do!!

BnB's near me don't have dressers in the bedrooms. A couple of chairs, folding luggage racks and maybe a hook or two but that's it. They're also much easier to keep clean without rugs unless you get Ruggables 👍

I live in Northwest Florida I absolutely love your style on make overs with furniture and signs. I have been talking to my husband about wanting to stay at one of the cottages. I have never been to Ohio. So I’m so excited to come. We stayed at an Airbnb in northern Alabama at Christmas it was a barn. It was beautiful with rustic decor. We stayed there to have a time of solitude with the Lord. It was refreshing walking in the meadow and hills♥️
I live in the mid Minnesota countryside and am also surrounded by woods but those pesky deer still love to come and snack on all my flowers. Glad your not having problems. The video I watched just before yours was “the impatient gardener” that I subscribe to about what she does to keep the deer from eating her plants. Good info.
Mary, when you answered the question about whether your herbs were perennial, and you mentioned that sometimes the parsley will come back, it made me want to tell you that I plant Curley Parsley as a filler in most of my large planters every year. I plant it as food for the swallowtail butterfly larva, which they devour every summer, but the plants rebound and are full and green again in the fall. I have to grow or purchase new plants each spring because I've never had them overwinter here. I hope you and your family are enjoying the weekend! ~Margie😊💚🦋

I joined vintage sewing machine group in Facebook after I bought a 1919 treadle. Some on there completely remove damaged veneer and redo. Used more on lids.
The Polycrylic works fantastic on floors! I have apartment rentals and one unit in between rentals I do a touch up of a hand painted border design I painted and then lightly sand the natural center field of the floor. I put about 3 coats of Polycrylic on and it hold up so well. That method has held up for 25 years and about 6 tenants. Let me tell you, tenants are not kind to floors! 🙁 But this floor has really held up nicely. I just use a large brush to put each coat on and it levels beautifully. Your gardens and property are so beautiful. We sold our Victorian home after 30 years. I miss my established gardens so much. Now I would have a very hard time giving up my flower gardens now. I had to start from scratch at age 62 and it takes time for things to mature and fill in. We now live rural. Deer are an issue but I used rusty wire fencing to keep them out. We love the deer too.

In answer to your question Mary, I believe both 'citrus' and 'peppermint' each repel insects. So it makes sense your grapefruit-mint candle seem to repel them. Also, I believe 'Oregano' is a perennial and should come back every year.
It is true I wonder sometimes thinks about you and your family or cottages but I just feel like you need your privacy and I don’t want to intrude!! Love your channel just the way it is!!!!
Funny I'm a fast watcher on some things. I often play instruction type videos on fastest speed even if the channel owner speeds up. And often with closed captions on because I watch while also watching the TV. Mostly with my main hobby of sewing. I just like to get things done to go on to do other things. But I enjoy these Q and A too. At normal speed.
Some people's comments are crazy! Keep doing you and if people don't like your videos or style of decorating etcetera they can go to the next channel or maybe they should start their own channel and see how much work goes into it. It's so much work to come up with ideas, film and edit. I watch you because you seem like a nice person, hardworking and I do like most all of your content. I don't have to love every single thing people that I follow do but I would never leave a comment that is basically criticizing the content the people I follow are providing for free basically.
I refinished larch and oak floors in a bathroom in our previous home, an early 20th century Victorian in Northern Indiana. We had to patch several spots in the floor with oak because larch was cost prohibitive. The floor turned out more of an ivory tint due to the slight yellowing after applying the polyurethane. Yes, there was slight wearing in the traffic lanes but it added to the character of the home. We always loved those floors! Yours are lovely!

We downsized in retirement and I had to make hard choices as to what to keep. I kept an antique buffet I've had for over 40 years even though we have no dining room. I really love it so I put it in a bedroom and sold the dresser instead. But it was a small sized one.

We’re in New Hampshire, and our oregano (which is a mint…) has run rampant in our narrow back yard area. We just mow it, and sometimes if I run out of dried oregano, I run out and cut a bunch.You might be surprised to find yours hanging in year in and year out.

White wash the brick first, then see how you like it. You could easily go to white later. I am a brick lover!
And if she decides to keep the whitewash, it ages 1000x’s better than solid paint!

..I’m in southern MICH and my parsley comes back every year AND oregano should be perennial also.

I joined vintage sewing machine group in Facebook after I bought a 1919 treadle. Some on there completely remove damaged veneer and redo. Used more on lids.
The Polycrylic works fantastic on floors! I have apartment rentals and one unit in between rentals I do a touch up of a hand painted border design I painted and then lightly sand the natural center field of the floor. I put about 3 coats of Polycrylic on and it hold up so well. That method has held up for 25 years and about 6 tenants. Let me tell you, tenants are not kind to floors! 🙁 But this floor has really held up nicely. I just use a large brush to put each coat on and it levels beautifully. Your gardens and property are so beautiful. We sold our Victorian home after 30 years. I miss my established gardens so much. Now I would have a very hard time giving up my flower gardens now. I had to start from scratch at age 62 and it takes time for things to mature and fill in. We now live rural. Deer are an issue but I used rusty wire fencing to keep them out. We love the deer too.

In answer to your question Mary, I believe both 'citrus' and 'peppermint' each repel insects. So it makes sense your grapefruit-mint candle seem to repel them. Also, I believe 'Oregano' is a perennial and should come back every year.

Funny I'm a fast watcher on some things. I often play instruction type videos on fastest speed even if the channel owner speeds up. And often with closed captions on because I watch while also watching the TV. Mostly with my main hobby of sewing. I just like to get things done to go on to do other things. But I enjoy these Q and A too. At normal speed.
Some people's comments are crazy! Keep doing you and if people don't like your videos or style of decorating etcetera they can go to the next channel or maybe they should start their own channel and see how much work goes into it. It's so much work to come up with ideas, film and edit. I watch you because you seem like a nice person, hardworking and I do like most all of your content. I don't have to love every single thing people that I follow do but I would never leave a comment that is basically criticizing the content the people I follow are providing for free basically.
I have a beautiful antique Buffet in my bedroom!
I refinished larch and oak floors in a bathroom in our previous home, an early 20th century Victorian in Northern Indiana. We had to patch several spots in the floor with oak because larch was cost prohibitive. The floor turned out more of an ivory tint due to the slight yellowing after applying the polyurethane. Yes, there was slight wearing in the traffic lanes but it added to the character of the home. We always loved those floors! Yours are lovely!

We downsized in retirement and I had to make hard choices as to what to keep. I kept an antique buffet I've had for over 40 years even though we have no dining room. I really love it so I put it in a bedroom and sold the dresser instead. But it was a small sized one.

We’re in New Hampshire, and our oregano (which is a mint…) has run rampant in our narrow back yard area. We just mow it, and sometimes if I run out of dried oregano, I run out and cut a bunch.You might be surprised to find yours hanging in year in and year out.
