GBO2 Marasai: Best leg breaker sniper?!

  • This video contains two matches I had with the post-buff LV2 Marasai. It is a 450-500 cost general with a very high damage stop to fire rifle, incredible leg breaking ability, incredible melee damage, great melee stunlock ability, high durability and long melee reach with the spear. Its needing to stop to fire a rifle twice to stagger enemies and lacking Maneuver Armor for going into melee range with its spear. You might have saw this suit wreaking havoc at 450-500 cost since it got buffed at the end of September of 2023, it is a real monster of a suit that shatters legs without remorse. The buffs gave it more HP, better mobility for 500 cost, better fedayeen rifle power, 1 second cooldown for the fedayeen rifle, 10 seconds overheat time for the fedayeen rifle alongside replacing the vulcans with ones capable of staggering. I meant to cover these changes back when it was buffed but making videos for other suits got in the way. I hope that you enjoy watching!
    The Marasai can choose between a beam rifle or fedayeen beam rifle for its primary weapon. The standard rifle has the longest cooldown of any ammo beam rifle in the entire game alongside low damage and stun accumulation, so it is not recommended. The LV2 fedayeen rifle has 2400 (2800) power, 50% (85%) heat, 1 second cooldown, 10 seconds overheat, 0.5 seconds swap time, 455m (555m) range, 1 seconds focus time, 1.3x uncharged leg damage modifier and 50% (80%) stagger value. This has utterly ridiculous power, lacking instant stagger with uncharged shots but having practically illegal output for 450-500 cost. If it can land three shots then your legs are gone unless you invest in LV3 leg armor, and even looking past the leg breaking it has very high DPS.
    Its primary melee weapon at LV2 is a beam saber with 2350 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time and standard modifiers. This has high damage for the cost range, fast swap time and longer reach than a standard beam saber. You can start combos with this after a heavy stagger from the wire or use it to stunlock enemies.
    Its first sub weapon is a head vulcan gun with 100 power, 60 ammo, 450 RPM, 6 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap time, 150m range, 750 DPS and 5% stagger value. This takes 2.66 seconds to stagger on its own which is not very practical, but it has decent DPS and gives you at least some form of stagger output while your rifle is cooling down.
    Its second sub weapon is a sea serpent wire with 2100 power, 5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time and 100m range. This is a heat rod style weapon that heavy staggers on hit. You can use this defensively against enemies coming at you in a straight line but it can be confirmed from a neutral swing by either of your other melee weapons as a combo.
    Its third sub weapon is a rifle beam saber with 2500 power, 4 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time, 85% side swing modifier and 160% downswing modifier. This weapon cannot chain swings together, but it benefits from very long reach and great downswing damage. This is your best tool to use in close range fighting, it is hard to counter-tackle if spaced correctly.
    The LV2 Marasai has 20000 HP, 22 ballistic resist, 24 beam resist and 20 melee resist. This level of durability makes it very hard to take down, especially good since it often has to play risky with fedayeen saber raw melee. It has a 30% damage reduction right shoulder buffer and LV1 Emergency Evasion for defensive skills, but lacks Maneuver Armor despite its above average size and lacking stun ability for 1v1 situations.
    It also has 130 walk speed, 205 boost speed, 65 thrust and 66 turning speed. This is pretty much normal for the cost, it has slightly less boosting speed than some others but this doesn't cause too many problems. It has LV2 Forced Injector but lacks Flight Control.
    Overall I feel like the buffs for this suit have created a monster. It is obviously a months old change now, but I think that the prototype fedayeen rifle was a strong weapon before this, so it baffles me as to why they made it even stronger. I would have much rather the suit got Maneuver Armor alongside buffs for the stock instant stun rifle rather than this. In its current state I can call the Marasai a toxic suit that easily shatters legs, squishier generals or average bulk raids will have their legs broken in 3 shots regardless of if they have Leg Armor equipped or not. It is definitely one of the strongest generals at 450-500 cost as long as you can use the loadout properly, as well as using it on a team with enough stun or frontline presence. Just aim for their legs and shoot them three times, even if you can't use the fedayeen melee properly this will be very effective. Thanks for watching, and I hope that you enjoyed it!

    3:28 I am baffled that Jegan did not notice you there at all despite being right next to you, both just shooting away at the same direction of the target.

    Yeah this is one of my favorite weapons in the game. Its so good and it comes with an additional melee sub which is nuts.

    City here how you handle it is exactly why the spawn points need to be reworked, its so simple to spawn block an entire team into a corner too easily, then again ive always hated this map anyways, it's just terrible, nice run in the Marasai though it's a beast if set up properly.

    My best games is with this thing and raw Whip any raid trying to gun for my support. Whip into Spear should not connect but it does. Keep up the good work!
    This suit is such a contrast to Dolmel Doue and the ungabunga. 😂

    heh, no wonder.
    last weekend i had a match in the impact site.
    i went in using a sniper 2.
    we were pushed back badly.
    i took a sniping position on the cliff opposite point B.
    thought it was weird that the 2 allied marasai-s were crouching near me while pointing their weapon at the cliff with an arc AND not going in to engage the enemy.
    it was a weird 5 ~ 10 seconds without a fight.
    the other 2 allies were hanging around as well.
    🤣🤣🤣

    I've never used the Marasai as a shooter, always mid-range brawler for my supports to nab kills

    Whats that part that got your range damage up by 21 ?

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      +10 from composite frame type A (needs all 6 enhancements developed), +4 from enhancements, +7 from lv3 ranged modifier.

    What is the 3 star blue custom part?

      I'm blanking on the full name (Complex Something A). It takes up 2 close range, 4 mid, 3 long range.
      It gives you +300HP, +3 ranged damage, and 15% faster repair tool. For every two enhancements slots the suit has maxed out, it adds another 200HP and 2 ranged damage. So when you unlock all six enhancements, it's +1000Hp, +10 ranged damage, and the increased repair speed.
      It came with one of the 4* step-ups (Xeku Eins, maybe, I'm forgetting atm). There's a melee version that came with Banshee Norn that takes one more close slot and one less mid.
      And also 3 armor versions that give +10 to two of your defensive stats and +10% repair speed, though they are a little more part intensive.
      These are really the closest we've gotten to pay to win parts, as they fit on even most of the lower cost units, add a lot of stats for relatively little part slots, and often make it so you can fit the normal +10 damage part with them for even higher stats than typical damage builds. And then the bonus of faster healing.
      But then you also need to play a lot of games and/or use tickets to max out enhancements on your suits, which is also easier when you are whaling for more dupes.
      But for the armor versions, you'll probably only run into the +10 to melee and beam resistance, as there few suits that want to use those slots on beam/ballistic or ballistic/melee.

    Does database link even help in leg breaking or no?

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It does, but it is only worth it if you have long range slots to spare. I would rather run ranged damage for most MS.

    Absolutely love this suit. It's just an excellent well rounder. The melee and the rifle mean it can fit anywhere at any time. Thing is cathartic to play if you've dealt with bullshit raids as a support

    I've just played the game on PC, but isn't it better to just spam damage mod than overheat reduction mod? Unless you play something like FAZZ with a minute or so overheat.

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It depends on the suit. For Marasai, it gives you better DPS output since you can overheat the gun on purpose and get 100% heat back faster than letting it recover normally. 3 shots then you get it back again in 8 seconds. For most suits, overheat reduction is not worth it.

    Marasai? LEG BREAKING SNIPER? This I gotta see.

  • @Dr.pp4256
    @Dr.pp4256 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I just think it does too much leg damage, Damage is fine but if the enemy team has 2 of these guys running around in the back you’ll just lose your legs.

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It really does. I have did the math and even a raid with LV3 leg armor and the defence buff from LV2 Maneuver Armor cannot survive three rifle shots, unless they have high HP. Even with high HP they will be a saber swing or a few vulcan shots away from broken legs anyway.
      Sniper II after the buff is kinda the same way, but I don't see as many people using it to go on leg breaking sprees.

    • @Dr.pp4256
      @Dr.pp4256 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@avenger1_gbo260 I think mainly bc the gm sniper ll is a support and you can’t fire as fast as the marasai can, Plus unlike the marasai it can defend itself against a raid incoming with either its wire or as you said dumping 2 shots into the raids legs.
