I must say, Rachel's version of the "person slowly goes mad after a series of never-ending setbacks" storyline is much more classy and civilized than Stephen King's. Jack Torrance could NEVER.
I adore how comfortable she is with telling her viewers all the blood, sweat, and tears going into her projects; Instead of skipping through the struggle cause it is about the journey then the destination. You deserve so much love dear and I hope your Halloween went well.
agreed!! honestly one of the reasons i love rachel is bc she doesnt shy away from how she is feeling during the process! it makes me feel less alone in my worry as a creator, and in turn more bold with my projects
Me going “I bet you could have pad stitched the collar” when I know damn well I have never pad stitched a collar a DAY in my LIFE. Too much Bernadette Banner for the week. 😂

Right? And she’s in the middle of buying a new home as well? I admire this but hate to applaud it at the same time. I can’t imagine any of us going anywhere even if she took months off.
That clip of Schmidt from New Girl absolutely sent me - “Youths!” - I was dying laughing, crying, wheezing, the silent rock back and forth while you hold your elbows and trying to compose myself enough to explain to my husband what was going on only to continue lapsing into fits of cackling hysterics at the hilarity of explaining what you were doing, what the hecklers were saying and the clip of Schmidt. I have only just recovered enough to write this comment.
1. So proud of you for doing so much with no power! Seriously impressive. 2. Ballon sleeves are life, more balloon sleeves! I loved seeing the crazy amount of fabric that goes into them lol 3. We love the references! 4. I'm just so proud because I've been watching your channel for a loooong time and seeing how much more confident you are with sewing and how good you've gotten???? Like??? I absolutely love the disheveled Rachel at the end. Your energy is the embodiment of all of us makers and sewists when we pull off a successful project! The Happiest of Halloweens to you!
My wife watches your work religiously and i just wanted to stop by and say that it was very cool, and brave, and important, and good that you were open like you were about some of the difficulties you were having during this project, and presented them in a way that underscores the fact that it's okay to process hard things in your own way, and that you don't need other peoples' permission to accomodate yourself as much as you need to get through it, regardless of the circumstances or the difficulty at-hand, and it wasn't something to be ashamed of. The dress/costuming was great, don't get me wrong, but that one quick aside was one of the most quietly powerful sequences i've seen in a create/reveal video, and i think it's going to affect a lot of people in a positive way. "So, I took my already terrifying mannequin head." Me looking over at my own terrifying mannequin head sitting on my kitchen table. Terrifying indeed, but great for using when you're styling a wig.
I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't employed you for special effects on a low-budget/student horror movie yet. You do such fantastic work on short time frames and little money!
The fact that you managed to do this with minimal electricity options is ama-zing! I hope that it never happens again for your sake. The whole ensemble is really cute!
Having somewhat followed your whole ordeal on Instagram, it took no more than "Welcome to the *actual* 1800s" to have me in stitches - it definitely can't have been fun to live through, but rest assured your cursed week made for one hell of an entertaining video (also the thunder rumble on the day three title card was *chef's kiss*)
That would have been a good comeback but "none ya business" worked well, too! After all, it must be difficult to sling a good come-back while dancing through the cemetery in a puffy-sleeve femininized version of Jack Skeffington while directing your husband as he films you. A fantastic costume, you'll be the toast of all Halloween parties!
Rachel really had no power, freezing cold temps and meltdowns and still put out a Halloween treat for us with an incredible costume?! We are so grateful 🎃💖
I love that this was "a mess", it's so real. It was still super fun, and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for putting it out there, and for doing what you do.

Spooktacular, Darling! Fun fact: “these things” are called “Brads.” I will forever remember that because that’s my dads name and my second grade teacher called them “Cricket’s dads.” Shout out to Mrs. Gage!
I've been watching since the very beginning and I remember watching the Halloween haul when you got the Jack bowtie! Super proud and impressed with all that you have achieved. This 1890's look is spectacular! Happy Hallowe'en or Teanlay Night as they call it where I'm from in England 🎃🎃🎃🎃
I can only bow in front of your determination to finish this project despite the Fate being agaisnt you. You are my sewing godess Rachel. And this costume is pure Halloween magic ! And the Pumpkin Lady was perfect for the role.
My partner and I just woke up the day after Halloween in Australia! Which is slowly becoming more of a thing! Now we can watch this! What a perfect way to wrap up our spooky season!
I love the way you say waking up in Australia is becoming more of a thing--as if you have been practicing teleportation in your sleep. Very Halloween appropriate.
"There are few things in this life that I am extremely passionate about: Carbs, videos of baby chimpanzees, and 1890s sleeves." Well, it rhymes so it must be true!
The whole video had me smiling and was delightful (and relatable, I've had my share of stress related cries) but it was that Schmidt clip at the end that did me in. I laughed for a solid minute. Perfection.
A whole half our! YAY!! Also, Rachel, you have absolutely leveled up your sewing this past year. You're doing incredible things! And your perseverance is so admirable

That's fabulous. Just gonna say it. So cool.
Ahhh nem acredito que tem mais BR que assiste a Rachel!! :)
o mundo é pequeno né? tem brasileiro aqui 😁
Lovely! I've been wanting one of those pumpkin mugs to go with my cauldron one. :)
Anytime I get cat called from now on, I will 100% be using Rachel’s ol timey, “NON YA BUSINESS!”. They’ll never see it coming.
I'm so proud of you for actually finishing this project despite everything that came your way! It turned out absolutely fabulous 😍
Ah, a great way to wrap up my Halloween (it's technically past midnight now, but I say it's Halloween until I go to sleep ;) ) thanks, Rachel! 🎃💀✨
Still Halloween night where I live, and I'm consuming as much Halloween content as possible before its all over
Rachel this is a knockout!! It turned out SO WELL, and I'm simply in awe of your persistence and resilience. Seriously inspiring, and I really hope you feel proud of yourself too
Spooktacular, Darling!
Fun fact: “these things” are called “Brads.” I will forever remember that because that’s my dads name and my second grade teacher called them “Cricket’s dads.” Shout out to Mrs. Gage!
Rachel you’re just.. a beast for completing this project and editing it into a masterpiece. Chefs kiss to you! Right on the cheek!!!!
This is just so incredibly impressive, and the fact that you did most of it without having power is just crazy!
Same! I was sadly looking @ my jack o lanterns thinking I’ll have to take them down :(
@@EllenBourne I don't wanna have to pack it up! 😢
Do what I do and keep it up year round. Makes good Creepmas decor. XD
The day after Halloween is already a thing though right? It's All Saints day, aka All Hallows day.
I laugh out loud at your jokes more than any sitcom I watch! Thanks for making this Halloween extra fun!
Oh my god Rachels hair at the beginning was literally so cute! All fluffy
I enjoyed watching this so much. The act that you completed all you did with so many days without 'lectricity blows my mind. Skuld of to you!!! Chef's kiss and applause, you rock!!!!!
This is one of my favorite videos you have ever done, and that is really saying something because I adore them all. Beautiful costume, perfect Halloween aesthetic, and a good old holiday curse. Thank you for sharing this with us!
