    As a fabricator looking in the window at silversmithing, my appreciation of your "why in the fuck" is unmatched. Making me feel right at home. 😂

    Been a jeweler for 46 years and never had the need to do this two-step process. I just sweat solder bezel to the plate. Done

    Hey I thought you didn't like those tripods? I know I don't! They seem to steal the heat.

    • @JewelryArts
      @JewelryArts 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When you need to heat from beneath, the tripod works well BUT you need to use a thin screen, not a thick one. :)

    Brilliant technique! Do you ever show how you make the 20K alloy you used in the backsheet? Or would it be covered it your soldering book?

    • @JewelryArts
      @JewelryArts ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We just add six percent of copper to our normal 22k alloy. 😃

    Hi Jeanette. Great video as always! I have a question, and I hope I can say it in a way that makes sense! For this technique, the solder has to flow from the inner bezel to the width of the granulated sheet. Is there a maximum width this can only be used before you have to use sweat soldering or is it just dependent on how much solder you use? Thank you!

    • @JewelryArts
      @JewelryArts ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So glad you enjoyed it! I have never found there to be a maximum, you just keep adding solder. :)
