As a jeweler for 49 years...when you lit the #2 tip I yelled "Holy Shit!" Great job my sister from another mother!
As a fabricator looking in the window at silversmithing, my appreciation of your "why in the fuck" is unmatched. Making me feel right at home. 😂
Omg I love you -soon as I heard ya start swearing I was like -yup shes the real deal, I'ma follow her!!
What a great way to end 2022. G’night. Ya’ll keep it quiet up there in the big city.
Been a jeweler for 46 years and never had the need to do this two-step process. I just sweat solder bezel to the plate. Done
Hey I thought you didn't like those tripods? I know I don't! They seem to steal the heat.
When you need to heat from beneath, the tripod works well BUT you need to use a thin screen, not a thick one. :)
Brilliant technique! Do you ever show how you make the 20K alloy you used in the backsheet? Or would it be covered it your soldering book?
Hi Jeanette. Great video as always! I have a question, and I hope I can say it in a way that makes sense! For this technique, the solder has to flow from the inner bezel to the width of the granulated sheet. Is there a maximum width this can only be used before you have to use sweat soldering or is it just dependent on how much solder you use? Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it! I have never found there to be a maximum, you just keep adding solder. :)
Fantastic video as always!
Thank you so very much! :)
