    Hey @darian Quilloy I’m a chef and I have a cool idea for how to make the crawl look more realistic when it’s gonna get used for cooking. Take raw beef or chicken liver and wrap it in some cured meat like prosciutto. Let the prosciutto sit outside for a couple hours before wrapping it, it’ll turn kinda plasticy hard (still ok to eat you just made jerky). You’ll still be able to shape it into the crawl shape and when you cut into it it’ll look sufficiently bloody and gross. The main reason I think this would be useful is that it would hold the shape while it’s cooked. In this video it’s pretty clear you just like switched to turkey or maybe ground liver to make the actual dish. It’s not a big deal or anything, it’s the kind of thing only an asshole like me would notice. Either way give the effect idea a shot I’d love to see how it goes

      I bet it would taste more similar to the 'real thing' too since crawl is supposed to be made of digestive tissue, kind of like intestines, rather then just pure muscle like most meat is. (wait is liver part of the digestive system? I have no idea, I just know that my mom loves chicken liver.)

    • @grubbu7073
      @grubbu7073 ปีที่แล้ว +94

      @@yurithebotfly4921 liver is what the body uses to filter various things entering the bloodstream. That’s why too many drugs or alcohol will hurt your liver. That’s also why it, along with other organ meat, tastes bloody as hell. I thought it would look good as the crawl because of its texture. If you’ve ever seen liver go through a meat grinder i think you’ve seen what’s on the other side of the singularities

    At first with 4:49, I thought that could have been a mimic leaning in, but as disturbing as a mimic cooking channel could have been, somehow the respirator is even creepier. It means the "chef" knows he's working with biohazardous materials. Either the crawl is not nearly as nutritious as it's made out to be (Given how wrong it is, I wouldn't doubt it) or It's Nutrire Co.'s flavour enhancer that's the reason for the precaution. Which means the entire cooking program is a psyop and a facade from the word go. How Nutrire benifets from this however I have no idea. But it was broadcast to public television given the beginning commercials and other shows.
    Man, I WISH it was a mimic cook show at this point. It would have been easier to explain its motives....

    Sticky notes.
    It's a bulletin board
    "Who are they?" could be talking about maybe the monoliths, or maybe this is after the Prince wakes up, since in the mimic's video it talked about how the seasons passed, and it'd be unrecognizable to the prince, it could also be talking about the Living Meat Institute.
    The top right sticky note, I'm not sure, but here's what I was able to decipher.
    "Nuv_e", or it could be "Null_e", the 'u' could also be an 'a', or a 'v', but a 'v' wouldn't make sense. The fourth letter COULD be an s.
    Below the undecipherable word is "co", most likely meaning that this "Null_e"/"Nuv_e" is a company or a co-operative.
    Upon further looking, at 1:24, with the flavour enhancer, it says it's made by Nutrire Co., this COULD fit with the above, since I could've been mistaken about the third letter, but the length doesn't really fit here, but it being Nutrire Co would fit with the "who are they" part.
    Next, is the left sticky note.
    Here is what I was able to decipher,
    "Pe[l, b][a, i][undecipherable]d?
    I'm not sure what this could be.
    Finally, the picture in the center.
    I believe it's the monolith circle, since well, it is a circle, and it has something in the center of it.
    Now onto this video's storybook,
    "although the other critters ignored the rest of their fellow kind. Instead, they secretly visited the slumbering visitor. They snuck what little food they had and carefuly fed it to the prince, greatly hastening their recovery."
    So some animals visited the prince and fed him, hastening the prince's recovery.
    The prince recovering could have been the cause of the meat creatures, potentially.

    • @lovexdevour0910
      @lovexdevour0910 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      I felt like the storybook stuff is some kind of symbolism about how most people were scared of the sudden existence of the meat creatures (like how the critters were scared at who and what the Prince is and why is he there), but some people instead sees the meat creature as something that will be of great help to humanity so they kept feeding them corpses and stuff (like how some of the critters secretly snuck and fed the prince), and the prince recovering is a symbolism of the meat creatures flourishing even further.

    • @AngelGamer-qg5cq
      @AngelGamer-qg5cq ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Yeah, that makes sense, the Critters could definitally be symbolic for humanity (especially since the Critters are sentient.) and the Prince could be symbolic for the meat creatures. But it's still too early to confirm, we don't know if the Monoliths have anything to do with the Storybook, which is definitely possible.

      @@TechxGuyxJames That was written before the giant meat snake video, "the prince" could definitely be the meat snake. • @TechxGuyxJames
      @TechxGuyxJames ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@AngelGamer-qg5cq My current theory that The Prince/giant meat snake is a giant space worm designed to exist in hard vacuum like a living spaceship. I came to this conclusion due to the sample of it's flesh being incredibly resilient against physical damage, extreme temperatures, and radiation. The first 2 are inconclusive on their own, but abnormally strong radiation resistance isn't something you would expect to exist in an organism that evolved in the protective shield of an atmosphere.
      It somehow got shifted off course and couldn't stop itself from getting drawn in to Earth's gravity and crashing. It managed to survive impact due to it's resillient body normally meant to withstand the many dangers of space. However it still received a lot of damage and entered a comatose or sleep-like state to allow it's body to heal more efficiently.
      A more speculative hypothesis I have is that the Prince's species lives in tbe asteroid belt. The Asteroid belt idea is because the giant space rocks could provide more abundant material for sustainence than just floating randomly. It would also require less energy to course correct to find a new rock in an asteroid field after one has been picked clean of usable matter than it would take changing velocity to chase down a random comet or other object of arbritrary velocity.

      I wonder if it's an isolated and "thickened" (I don't know how else to describe it) form of Host spores..? Surely eating Crawl can't be good for you, but I haven't yet seen all the videos, so I'm unsure on that. Maybe the spores or "seasoning" can act as some sort of activator for something in the crawl meat, perhaps some sort of enzyme or something..?
      For my idea of the seasoning being host spores: Why would someone want to isolate spores and have them as a seasoning? Perhaps whatever the company is made up of wants the meat to thrive and this is a form of "leading sheep to the slaughter" or so to speak. Since host spores are often airborne and, well, sporous, people outside the company likely won't figure it to be the cause to be the seasoning.

    I've been instantly hooked by this series, I love the tone, humanity trying to integrate these horrors into society, and the practical effects are praise worthy, even just for using them in the first place! However, and I say this with love and because I want for this series to be respected by all when it inevitably becomes really popular, DO NOT leave the edges of green screen footage visible. The steam coming off the pot really took me out of it, as well as the pot not being on the stove. Again I legitimately do not want to be mean, I'm pointing this out because I want to see you improve as a creator and this series grow.
    Also my Lil theory is that the flavor enhancer is spores from the hosts, and this commercial was made by perfected mimics

    I wonder, could the "flavor enhancer" be Host spores? the color and texture look similar to the stuff shown in the doc, and the fact that it needs to be applied below a certain temperature doesn't make any sense with the science of taste. However, it would make perfect sense if you were trying to propagate a proper environment for spores within the body. (Also worth noting that it dies RIGHT above the highest temperatures the human body could sensibly reach...) UM- BEYOND THAT: THE COOK IS WEARING RESPIRATOR

    i love how at the first video crawl was talked about being edible but not used in any culinary things because of the look and feel. now they straight up started dooing recipes with it. i think thats a good way to show how people where probably forced at one point in time to use it as food because the other sources of normal meat probably got very hard to get your hands on

  • @FloodlightGamingReal
    @FloodlightGamingReal ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I just wanna point out that odds are that the flavor enhancer is host spores.
    It specifies to make sure the temp is below 60c, beyond 60c the temperature would kill most bacteria (or spores, perhaps) the color is the same as the spores, the respirator being visible when the 'flavor enhancer' is being used, the symbol on the bottle that someone else pointed out, i think it's a few too many coincidences to write off.

    Is it wrong I want to make this? Only, I would substitute the crawl for actual meat. As for that special seasoning, I could try something else. Maybe shredded up bell peppers? Or carrots? Or something. Anyone got any ideas?
    Edit: Actually, the crawl is similar to a fungi or mushroom right? Would I have to use mushrooms instead of meat? So many questions.
    Edit two: Actually, looking at the way the crawl was handled I would say a mixture of meat and mushroom. Or some other type of vegetable.
    Edit three: Hmm....
    Strange. Most vegetables that you cook with tend to have enhaved flavor after you cook them with whatever meal you are seasoning with. The only exceptions are normally fruits. So is the flavor enhancer some type of fruit? And due to it's orange color is it like an orange or tangerine? Or another type of orange fruit? Or maybe orange zest? I have so many questions.
