- Hay 2022 is finished, 70 acres, 600 round bales, 750 small aquares, it’s been busy couple of weeks. And now we’re ready to get get straight into harvest....... we have a look at the David brown 1212 on the square baler

Brilliant to see the 1212 in all its glory, does my heart good every time I see it. Lovely quality hay too and great weather for it. Got all my own as well thank God 300 bales in all and like you I have most of it away to customers that come every year which is great. Very enjoyable video as always. 🚜👍

That 1212 and the baler looks like a class sit up there is a neighbour of ours he bails roughly 7 and 8000 Square hay/straw bales a year with a 995 David Brown And a welger he reckons he would use nothing else . cereals harvested in Kerry is in full swing

I always wondered how well one of the old Nash hydro’s would work in hay, the big issue with our NH is there’s only 1 splitter 🤦♂. Great to see the 1212 cracking through the hay! Must say, a nice little trailer would be handy behind my Sanderson 😁

Great video. I had 3 1212 tractors and ran 2 IH balers. But can I give the owner of that tractor a tip ? Please lift your linkage arms up when baling, you can foul the drawbar when they are at the bottom of their travel. If you lift them right up they should miss the P.T.O. shaft O.K.
The 1212 is a great looking tractor, the uncle has a 1210 which I think is very similar but he has a cab on his, the 1212 would look well with a cab but she’s nice

The Davey Brown looked really good there Gerry - she’s in fine order. The sooner we’re able to get a sense of smell across TH-cam, we’ll be able to enjoy the mighty smell of the hay.
Might end up with hay fever then 😂

Very nice tractor the JD baler's seem a bit out of date with an auger behind the pick up
It’s a 1992 baler, bales 4-5000 bales a year and never misses a beat. Augers work fine once your not baling haylage. On hay and straw. Perfect
@@gerry6420 the whole outfit is very nice I didn't want you to feel insulted its just that I have got a b46 baler and to get it to bale oats we had to fit a large tension spring to hold the auger down otherwise the auger would fill up and that was it

Always found the David Brown on a baler was as much smoother tractor the governor's always just seemed to react that bit quicker to the ram stroke 💪nice to get some bales off the farm an money in the bank 🏦👍 hope weather holds out for your grain harvest 🤔 how have the cows an calves been doin over the summer do you have plenty grazing 🤔 great video 👍

Don’t know exactly but very easy on fuel. Woukd run all day on 5 gallons

Looks great! We run a John Deere square baler too, ours has a pan kicker. Still a few David Brown tractors in our area, mostly 990’s if I recall correctly.

That 1212 looks and runs really well, did you restore it? We had a1412 hydrashift many years ago now great tractor in its day really wished we had kept it instead of trading it in for bugger all probably.
Great videos really interesting for famers as well as non farmers.
