52 min of Dragon's Dogma 2 discussion!? Thank you Ruri, I had run out of Dragon's Dogma related material and would've had to focus on non-DD related things for the first time in 3 days. Phew lol.
I prefer this actually cuz then there's no expectation for them to be on at a certain time. Them just collabing whenever they want sounds so much better to me!
For anyone that hasn’t played dragons dogma these spells you see were all in the original over 10 years ago. That’s how ahead of its time that game was.
I'm surprisingly interested in them splitting strider into thief and archer, I'm really looking forward to the advanced vocations they come up with and how the base classes will play now.
I wasn't too interested in archer at first, but it's beginning to look more and more fun. They have melee kicks, they got anti-air, they got distance, they have a normal lock-on like any other class, but also free-aim mode, they have crisp-looking evasive maneuvers. Just look really fun to use!
@greenpieceofmind My bestie is gonna love the fact that they use their legs for melee lol that's awesome. I'm personally gonna enjoy Mystic Knight (should it return) or maybe Rogue if they have Pilfer still lol genuinely hard choice though, I love spears so maybe that spearman vocation. The vocation I've always wanted to play tho is the Alchemist followed by the Shield Sage (both from Dragon's Dogma Online)
there was always strider and ranger, the difference was 1 had more of a focus on dagger skills in the mix and the other had more of a bow focus. in this it seams those classes (thief and archer) just don't get both weapons. seams like archer only has a bow and some sort of small short range move to push enemies back while thief has no range since it's all about being quick and climbing. there may not be a short bow or long bow anymore, just regular bow and spell bow for magic archer.

EVERY class looks so fun, honestly. ..Except Mage 😅Personally, just not my cup of tea. At least not in the first game. Not sure if I read it on their official website, or if they said it at TGS itself, but the Thief class was indeed getting the Pilfer ability again, or some variation of it anyway.

I really hope they add the gyro controls for aiming they have in Rise Sunbreak here as well. Made ranged combat and aerial combat so SO fluid! (And yeah, I know, different teams and all, but one can hope)

I just picked up dragon's dogma dark arisen yesterday and have been having a blast! As soon as I changed into the warrior class my enjoyment of the game sky rocketed
Every time I listen to Gaijinhunter I have to remind myself he and Goresh are two different people 😂 Slightly different tones but the cadence is sooooo similar, they both did translation and guide stuff for their respective games for years before joining TH-cam, both live in Japan... So eerie.
Agree, Magic in Dragon's Dogma is so good, i would say they have the best presentation of a magic system in all of rpgs since it combines good effects with imapct. you really do feel powerful with the long casting times help selling the power fantasy. I also tend to find myself going into a spellsword mix when i start off as magic since i like to bonk things as well but DD was the 1st game in a long while when i started as a mage and ended as a sorcerer through the whole game.
It would be sick if we could eventually fight the Brine like if it were some hivemind beast. Like it exists as a problem early game but mid game unlocks more regions when you're able to explore across the water
The fortune teller was previously the "Chronicle" in the original game, accessible from the pause menu. The idea was perfect to make it an actual npc. Downside is you have to see the npc 🙂
Becoming more clear to me that this does take place in the same location as the first game but in a different timeline and so yes this is Gran Soren and Cassardis but they are called Vermond and other stuff because different arisen from this timeline became king and named the place after himself etc. Pretty sure.
I wonder if they intend to put Gliders in this game. That dive animation makes it look like it's a possibility, I know the first game was suppose to have gliders in it
I personally don't care which comes out first between DD2 and MH6. I just hope whichever it is comes out before Dawntrail, because there's no way a single player game will make me miss an MMO expansion launch. Which means by the time I get around to whichever it is it'll be old news if it comes out anywhere near next summer.
27:12 i never ate anything in Dragons Dogma (except in the Grigori fight) and this never happened. Either that feature was removed in easy mode or you are misremembering something. Also i never used lanterns, never needed them until BBI but there i already played as magic archer and had the light arrow, so darkness was no problem anymore.

Ryozo said he was looking forward to TGS and so many thought it was the MH reveal but you got to remember that in an interview a while ago he was asked about what IP he'd be the most excited to bring back and he answered Dragon's Dogma. a shame if that got back to him and his vague hype for another game or simply a live event was misunderstood and disapointed so many when he's so hyped. if that was ever the case for even a minute i feel for him.

Capcom does NOT announce nor show games that are more than a year off. There is no way that Dragon's Dogma comes out in 2025. If they are showing it now in 2023, then its likely to be released in 2024.
Its not dragontongue Gaijin. Its Latin. Also you did not see clips of the first game in screenshots since during one video they said its a completely new land. Gran Soren was not showed off at all. Maybe its there in post game but everything showed here is not Gran Soren.
How is this game narratively a sequel? I thought it was confirmed that it’s taking place in a different dimension. Because in this dimension the arisen are the rules. Edit: it is confirmed by Itsuno in an interview that DD2 takes place in a different universe. So no, that is a different city and land.

ngl I just groaned when I saw the cyclops and griffins again. Christ there was a complete lack of enemy variety in the first that I just quit after seeing my 100th cyclops lol

First thing, it looks exactly like the first game, second, it's a direct sequel because they gave up on making the third act of the first any good, so this game is basically a glorified true third act dlc.
I... don't think any of the fans are gullible with this then. Itsuno even clarified it's 'an alt reality' of the original game on a grander scope. Most of the fanbase will entirely tell you, "yea, the original game was pretty bad and broken in parts, but the expansion Bitterblack dungeon was amazing."

Just to clarify btw, the devs already confirmed it's an alternate universe to DD1, so it's and entirely new story.

They wont, but youre worried about the stats too much anyways. In dd1 The gear and strategies are way more important than the stats.
