I love the Blackbeard crew. They're the most "pirate-like" pirate crew in One Piece and the characters have really unique designs and abilities. Also, Blackbeard himself is one of the most interesting characters in One Piece.
I think Kazan might be Teach’s older brother Kuzan might’ve had his devil fruit at a young age and is the reason Teach lived in a climate that was very cold and never slept. They have the same type of hair style and skin tone Blackbeard just accepted him with no issue, despite his untrustworthy history. Blackbeard having an ice brother keeps the theme of him being a direct foil to Luffy who had a fire brother
That idea is interesting but i want to say i don't think any of blackbeards crew is trustworthy so i don't think that will affect anything for blackbeard when deciding who joins his crew.

As cool as Kuzan is I dont think anyone would take a staged fight so far as to lose a limb permanently. I think he really did battle it out with Akainu but afterward was brought into sword possibly without Akainu's knowledge of it to work undercover.

This is the cool thing about Shanks crew. So far based on what I've seen, NONE OF THEM have devil fruit powers, yet they are considered porbably the strongest pirate crew, while the Blackkbeard Pirates are trying to get the best devil fruit powers thatt compliment their respective fighting skills.
I'm most excited about Usopp vs Van Augur and Chopper vs Doc Q but I will say the prospect that Q and Hiriluk could possibly know each other just made me more excited.
I like how we always thought Non-devil Fruit users like Shanks' Crew would have an advantage over Blackbeard Pirates because they're all devil fruit users and hence Falling into the Sea could be considered a serious weakness for them.. until they recruited Kuzan 💀

Van augur seems to only be able to warp someone who he touches, or himself. Which is why he had to warp to Blackbeard before warping Blackbeard to land.
It would be interesting if Oda pitches a fight between Admiral Fujitora and Shiryu of the rain considering the facts that one of them can’t be seen and one of them can’t see.
I always thought that it would be awkward to have people with similar abilities fight each other, aside from obvious match-ups in Luffy Vs Teach and Shiryuu Vs Zoro other crew member will mix and mash and have people that could counter each other face each other. Would make for some very fun fights that revolves around improvisation
Everyone is so obsessed with matchups, and its definitely gonna happen. But, what if, blackbeard isnt looking for these devil fruits for his crew? What if they are just back ups for him? We always speculate a 3rd devil fruit, but desperate people do desperate things. What if, when his crew is defeated he absorbs ALL of their devil fruits? Just imagine, a Giant, shape-shifting, invisible, OP creature spewing disease, darkness, earthquakes, warping, and whatever the other devil fruits of Vasco and Pizarro. Any other ideas friends? Cause with this he will be the very definition of a walking Armageddon.

I think Van Augur has to be in contact with a person in order to teleport them - in 1063-64 he was close to Burgess and touching Teach before they teleported. Also, if he has to see before he can teleport, then unless he can see inside the body, he isn't teleporting bullets into hearts anytime soon.
Pretty sure Lafitte's df is an owl. He has wings as we saw at Impel Down, he can hypnotize (pretty much every owl folklore around the world), and he silently arrived at the Summit to review Crocodile's loss of Shichibukai status (owls have feathers that specifically cancel sound). Tap shoes or not, he wouldn't have made a sound and been able to reach the Gates of Justice guard and the Croco-revocation meeting tower. Lafitte would be a good fight for a Chopper & Usopp double battle. Throw in Van Augre for good measure as a callback to Alabasta (maybe have each team state why their captain will become Pirate King).

I think he has the zoan df (siren model). Just for info. Sirens are half human half birds that uses their voice to lure and hypnotize sailors to their death. For me that makes more sense than of an owl.
My theory about Avalo Pizarro's fruit is that he ate a mythical zoan fruit that's like a Chimera because of his horns and the fact that he also look like a cat, and the Chimera has goat horns and has a lion head. EDIT: The Chimera is also a three headed monster which fits the theme very well with the crew's jolly roger of a triple skull. The Chimera symbolizes AMBIGOUS feelings, OPPOSITION, conflict, and more. He cannot OPPOSE Blackbeard maybe because of how the Chimera was defeated by Bellerophon because he was able to use his winged horse Pegasus and he thus managed to fly above the Chimera, repeatedly firing arrows into the back of the monster with his bow. And one of the og members of the crew was Stronger, who ate the Horse horse fruit model Pegasus, and the one riding stronger is Doc Q with the Sick Sick fruit. So maybe these two guys are the perfect counter for Pizarro. Theres something about ambigous feelings that match with Blackbeard but idk cus im running out of iq trying to make this theory work.
It would be interesting if Yamato came back and joined up since she seemed to be a guarantee. It would fit if katarina fought her. Both girls and both mystical zoan. Brooks with lafitte, as he can’t be hypnotized since he has no eyes and would have a cool sword fight. Vasko shot could be a drunk lecher that goes after nami. And I think Kuzan knows something and is with Blackbeard for real and will fight Robin. It would be sentimental and an awesome fight with a sea of arms and ice. And really show how strong she’s gotten.
Robin has grown strong but there is a big gap between tobi roppo and admiral. Robin needs either 2 or 3 more stronger opponents before taking on an admiral or alot more time to train
And then Van Augur vs Usopp, sniper battle, 2 island is needed for the distance both Usopp advanced Observation Haki shooting range, and Van Augur teleportation and incredible sniping distance

I think it might be Vasco Shot vs Sanji because they're both womanizers and Vasco seemed to have long legs. Lafitte vs Brook because they're both have canes and dress fancy. Which leaves Pizzaro vs Nami which I expect Pizzaro might have some weather related abilities but also being an evil ruler much like Arlong makes them a good match.

Blackbeard's first big move on the rest of the seas is still one that series creator Eiichiro Oda has yet to explain how it worked. Not only was the future Emperor shown to be able to wield two Devil Fruit abilities at once, but he was able to steal one before it returned to be a physical Devil Fruit in nature again. The newest chapters of the series have seen Blackbeard and his crew make their move as they are now vying for the One Piece itself, and the latest entry has made his crew all the more fearsome with their return to action. As the final saga kicks off its first arc and Luffy, Law, and Kid have gone off in their own respective paths towards the final island, Blackbeard's crew has made contact with Law's and now the two have begun a fierce battle in which we are seeing even more of the Devil Fruit powers Blackbeard's crew has acquired. Chapter 1063 of One Piece sees Blackbeard's crew attacking Law, and it's revealed that each of them has a distinct Devil Fruit ability with their reintroduction. Doc-Q has gotten the Sick-Sick Fruit ability, which lets him attack with diseases such as the "feminization disease" he uses to swap Law's gender. Van Auger is revealed to have the Warp-Warp Fruit ability, which allows him to teleport others (and most likely himself) as we see him teleport Jesus Burgess to cut off Law's ship. Burgess is then revealed to now have the Strong-Strong Fruit, which gives him super strength. Finally, even Doc-Q's horse Stronger has gotten the Horse-Horse Fruit Mythical Type, Model Pegasus ability that gives him wings. Law reveals that they've gained all of these power through hunting Devil Fruits (something we had seen hinted at before), but after we've seen Blackbeard it's not exactly trustworthy. These powers are almost too strong, so it wouldn't be too outside the realm of possibility to imagine that at least some of them have been stolen.
Lafitte's angel or owl fruit only one not hinted at stolen but he was a violent peacekeeper who got lost that job so might have lost it for stealing his devil fruit as well like blackbeard left whitebeard pirates after stealing his fruit.
Kuzans ability gets even more insane when you consider that true coldness is just meaning really slow moving atoms. So in theory he could slow down everyone and maybe even stop time without freezing (water, water in air)
I remembered a race with 8 limbs 3 heads while watching your videos about Blackbeard and I now think Blackbeard has “Hito Hito no mi, model: Ashura”(a god Ashura) which have 3 heads, 6 arms and 2 legs. I thought of this after you mentioned Blackbeard absorbing his twins and thought if he had that when he joined Whitebeard, it would explain why he never sleeps; the dreamer gets a fresh start to the morning, the reckless goof parties in the afternoon and the schemer plans at night skulking through the shadows.
It shouldn’t be forgotten, Aoikiji being a marine admiral, murder, violence and extortion were a regular part of his life as a marine. He could’ve saw that by joining Blackbeard and becoming a commander, he may be able to actually protect more people, as he’s be at the center of the storm. As the Marines highest priority are Celestial Dragons, first and foremost by far. And as Admirals have basically no power, and less freedom after he failed to become fleet admiral, now he at least has black beards ear, and some say in the crew who clearly value individual strength above all.
I think aokji is a sword member and was tasked to get intel on bb same as drake. I also think that is the reason why coby was kidnapped I think bb sold him to the cross guild for some money(bc of his hero status). And I also think that coby will become a meber on cross guild to gather intel on the group and buggy seeing how they operate.
Shiryu always reminds me of M. Bison (Vega in Japanese) from Street Fighter. He just has the vibes and outfit to represent the head of the Shadaloo crime syndicate.
Yeah Kuzan is totally just keeping an eye on Blackbeard from the inside. I think he's doing it on his own though and isn't actually working for the Marines. I know Oda likes to mislead us but I can't see him pulling a complete 180 on Kuzan's character this late in the game. Yes he is willing to go fairly far for his sense of Justice like assisting in the destruction of Ohara but he still does have a fairly good moral code.
Kuzan is either the second-in-command behind whoever runs SWORD, likely to be Garp, or he is working undercover as an agent for Dragon. So, either way, he is likely working under either Luffy's father or grandfather. Also, if either of these did turn out to be true, Kuzan wouldn't need to report to anyone and no one would need to report to him. He would have one goal given to him, by either Garp or Dragon, and that is to infiltrate Blackbeard's crew by any means necessary and to become one of them. Kuzan wouldn't need to care about reporting what is happening to Garp, or Dragon, because he just needs to become the perfect mole. This then gives Kuzan the freedom to do whatever he pleases in order to fit in with the rest of the crew. It also gives the faction that Kuzan really works for the upper hand when they really need to him to turn the tides in either a battle or in even just obtaining information that no one else could (e.g. on Blackbeard's ship or something). However, once we get an interaction with Kuzan and Koby, I think gears will start turning as to where Kuzan's true allegiance really lies. Kuzan never had to worry about anyone but himself around the Blackbeard pirates, however, if he was with SWORD, he would likely know that Koby is too. This could then lead to the Blackbeard pirates noticing changes in Kuzan's behavior around Koby though we will just have to wait and see.
There's another option considering black beard is oda's favorite pirate it's entirely possible that Oda set him up as a villain but he could easily be more altruistic than we think if he thinks his way is right I could see kazan joining
I think Sanji will actually fight Shiryu. Sanji will want to take revenge on him for taking the devil fruit he has always wanted (said this on Thriller Bark) and will therefore want to beat him.
Kuzan got the Itachi treatment and is now spying the enemy from inside giving intel to somebody within the Marine. Kuzan was Garps pick for Fleet Admiral and his Way of Justice is completely different from that of Akainus. Kuzan just couldn’t accept his “Absolute Justice” and they Battled it out. Ppl are underestimating him heavy. He fought TEN days 1 v 1 with Akainu who was obliterating enemies left and right at Marineford. On Punk Hazard he said to smoker : “No matter what you think about me, i’m still me Smoker” so imo theres no way Kuzan is just an evil MF now 🧊
I think the 4 original Blackbeard pirates are based off apocalypse’s horsemen. War. Famine. Conquest. And death. And Blackbeard symbolizes the embodiment of the apocalypse
Brook and Vasco seem to be a very good matchup cause they’re both supposedly entertainers while their powers correlate to the elements brooks being ice while Vasco has fire abilities via his alcohol
my theory Kuzan's lazy justice is so true to its name, he joined Blackbeard so he is guaranteed to be the first to interfere and save them outside of the Straw Hats. Garp and Sengoku are not one to sit idle and they're closely linked Kuzan, seeing as Sengoku wanted Fleet, but Garp his mentor repeated denied even an admiral stage to cut the control the Celestials have on them. I think Kuzan has every right to willingly lose the battle on Punk Hazard and become an ex-marine to write a narrative of a stray mercenary, one which Blackbeard would gladly add, although Blackbeard of all people know Kuzan's character. Which probably explains why Auger is so close he's almost watching Aokiji, perhaps even as a titan, BB knows better than to fully trust Kuzan. TL:DR Kuzan joined BB's crew because he wants to observe how exactly BB approaches things.
I sorta dont like the idea of Pizarro being matched against Sanji, hes just picked there because Burgess has other matches that make sense. personally it makes far more sense for Sanji to fight Laffite, specially if we subscribe to the theory that Laffite has an angel devil fruit, or is of the angelic races, as it would contrast Sanji's devil theme, not to mention that it feels more deserving for sanji to have an opponent that has had more screentime and place within the original black beard crew. On a similar note, I think Catarina Devon's theme fit way better to fight against Nami, as her epithet, appearance, and new devil fruit powers lend themselves to a more illusion based combat style, magic stuff, and circle around Nami's theme of being a witch (being called a sorceress, training under weather wizards, stealing a familiar from the worlds strongest witch, it makes thematic sense that she would end up fighting another magician, and thats a kitsune's specialty)
bruuhh, imagine Kuzan freeze the whole sea so that the Blackbeard crew can easily fight above the ocean, but then defreeze it at the perfect moment for them to get drowned and exposing himself as a spy from SWORD.
I thought the first known giant to eat a devil fruit was pans fry's daughter the one that when she becomes small still has the strength of a giant and pans fry cooks from a volcano for the mugiwaras.
Kuzan is a good guy who is just like Garp his mentor. Saul his buddy he froze will come back into the story again too. His crew is using the paper to follow him & black beard crew
I think Pizzaro's DF will be kept for Elbaf and will be based on the Utgard myth. It which the giant, Skrymir, tricks Thor into lifting the tail of the World Serpent, Jormungandr, glamoured as a skoggkat. Basically, all these cat attributes given to Pizzaro are a red herring for his actual DF: a Mythical or Ancient Snake Zoan. Like a mythical Uwabami Zoan or an ancient Titanoboa Zoan.
I don't think Kuzan is working for anyone, rather than he just took opportunity to personally monitor Blackbeard. He's already categorized as someone willing to break the rules to uphold personal justice, while still being ruthless and obedient. So I could see Kuzan just wanting to keep tabs on BB just in case he wanted to do something too evil.
Back here after Kuzan is the tenth captain, and I have a few thoughts: - Probably, it’ll be Robin vs Kuzan now. I mean, given the history those two have, that would be a gripping and emotionally charged battle. - With that, I would move Nami to fighting Devon (going off that logic that two important female characters will generally fight each other) -Most of all, I’d move Brook to fight Laffitte, who seems to be his logical matchup. They are both thin, light agile and fight with a shafted weapon. Additionally, the angel/ devil contrast the two bring makes Laffitte a better fit for Brook than any other member - Since one’s left over, I’d say one member (probably Vasco Shot) will be taken down by Luffy before the main fight starts (like he took down Blueno before fighting Lucci)
I'm calling it now, Vasco Shot is a Zoan type that can turn into a Sea King! Think about the way his neck and nose are and also the rings on the sides of his neck suggest gills.

IMO it won't be a one on one battle when Straw Hats finally faced Blackbeard, rather it would be a skirmish between some of them (maybe monster trio would have solo battle)

I think there is something you can look at. In manga chapter 699, Smoker asked Kuzan about his affliction. Kuzan mentioned that "I'm just me...". This tells that Kuzan has a motive, and it is a noble motive. We will soon know though, what is his motive
About Kuzan, i personaly think he works with nobody. After he loses against Sakazuki he left the Marine and had time to think. He wants an explanation why Ohara was destroyed, aka the real reason-> the real history. And for now Blackbeard is the ticket to learn the most, and always be in Position if he need to (for example if he thinks he need to switch site). To understand Robin better, if he learned more about the real History he "finally" can talk about justice.
If i wanted devil fruits irl i would want 4 and those are: 1. Ice ice fruit (defence) 2. Magma magma fruit (offence) 3. Light light fruit (speed with strongest offence fruit) 4. String string fruit (i can walk in sky)
Lafitte vs brook for me, slender physique, other inspiration is like theatrical Gothic things for lafitte, while Brook is more of a jazz man ? And since we still don't know the real power of vasco shot, maybe he can control element with water or something else, so could be put against nami

This is the cool thing about Shanks crew. So far based on what I've seen, NONE OF THEM have devil fruit powers, yet they are considered porbably the strongest pirate crew, while the Blackkbeard Pirates are trying to get the best devil fruit powers thatt compliment their respective fighting skills.
I'm most excited about Usopp vs Van Augur and Chopper vs Doc Q but I will say the prospect that Q and Hiriluk could possibly know each other just made me more excited.

We always speculate a 3rd devil fruit, but desperate people do desperate things. What if, when his crew is defeated he absorbs ALL of their devil fruits? Just imagine, a Giant, shape-shifting, invisible, OP creature spewing disease, darkness, earthquakes, warping, and whatever the other devil fruits of Vasco and Pizarro. Any other ideas friends? Cause with this he will be the very definition of a walking Armageddon.

I think Van Augur has to be in contact with a person in order to teleport them - in 1063-64 he was close to Burgess and touching Teach before they teleported. Also, if he has to see before he can teleport, then unless he can see inside the body, he isn't teleporting bullets into hearts anytime soon.
Pretty sure Lafitte's df is an owl. He has wings as we saw at Impel Down, he can hypnotize (pretty much every owl folklore around the world), and he silently arrived at the Summit to review Crocodile's loss of Shichibukai status (owls have feathers that specifically cancel sound). Tap shoes or not, he wouldn't have made a sound and been able to reach the Gates of Justice guard and the Croco-revocation meeting tower. Lafitte would be a good fight for a Chopper & Usopp double battle. Throw in Van Augre for good measure as a callback to Alabasta (maybe have each team state why their captain will become Pirate King).

My theory about Avalo Pizarro's fruit is that he ate a mythical zoan fruit that's like a Chimera because of his horns and the fact that he also look like a cat, and the Chimera has goat horns and has a lion head.
EDIT: The Chimera is also a three headed monster which fits the theme very well with the crew's jolly roger of a triple skull. The Chimera symbolizes AMBIGOUS feelings, OPPOSITION, conflict, and more. He cannot OPPOSE Blackbeard maybe because of how the Chimera was defeated by Bellerophon because he was able to use his winged horse Pegasus and he thus managed to fly above the Chimera, repeatedly firing arrows into the back of the monster with his bow. And one of the og members of the crew was Stronger, who ate the Horse horse fruit model Pegasus, and the one riding stronger is Doc Q with the Sick Sick fruit. So maybe these two guys are the perfect counter for Pizarro. Theres something about ambigous feelings that match with Blackbeard but idk cus im running out of iq trying to make this theory work.
It would be interesting if Yamato came back and joined up since she seemed to be a guarantee. It would fit if katarina fought her. Both girls and both mystical zoan. Brooks with lafitte, as he can’t be hypnotized since he has no eyes and would have a cool sword fight. Vasko shot could be a drunk lecher that goes after nami. And I think Kuzan knows something and is with Blackbeard for real and will fight Robin. It would be sentimental and an awesome fight with a sea of arms and ice. And really show how strong she’s gotten.

I think it might be Vasco Shot vs Sanji because they're both womanizers and Vasco seemed to have long legs. Lafitte vs Brook because they're both have canes and dress fancy. Which leaves Pizzaro vs Nami which I expect Pizzaro might have some weather related abilities but also being an evil ruler much like Arlong makes them a good match.
One Piece is now in the midst of the first phase of the final saga of the series overall, and the newest chapter of the series has revealed all of the wild new Devil Fruit powers Blackbeard's crew has been stealing since we had seen them last! Blackbeard's first big move on the rest of the seas is still one that series creator Eiichiro Oda has yet to explain how it worked. Not only was the future Emperor shown to be able to wield two Devil Fruit abilities at once, but he was able to steal one before it returned to be a physical Devil Fruit in nature again.
The newest chapters of the series have seen Blackbeard and his crew make their move as they are now vying for the One Piece itself, and the latest entry has made his crew all the more fearsome with their return to action. As the final saga kicks off its first arc and Luffy, Law, and Kid have gone off in their own respective paths towards the final island, Blackbeard's crew has made contact with Law's and now the two have begun a fierce battle in which we are seeing even more of the Devil Fruit powers Blackbeard's crew has acquired.
Chapter 1063 of One Piece sees Blackbeard's crew attacking Law, and it's revealed that each of them has a distinct Devil Fruit ability with their reintroduction. Doc-Q has gotten the Sick-Sick Fruit ability, which lets him attack with diseases such as the "feminization disease" he uses to swap Law's gender. Van Auger is revealed to have the Warp-Warp Fruit ability, which allows him to teleport others (and most likely himself) as we see him teleport Jesus Burgess to cut off Law's ship.
Burgess is then revealed to now have the Strong-Strong Fruit, which gives him super strength. Finally, even Doc-Q's horse Stronger has gotten the Horse-Horse Fruit Mythical Type, Model Pegasus ability that gives him wings. Law reveals that they've gained all of these power through hunting Devil Fruits (something we had seen hinted at before), but after we've seen Blackbeard it's not exactly trustworthy. These powers are almost too strong, so it wouldn't be too outside the realm of possibility to imagine that at least some of them have been stolen.

I remembered a race with 8 limbs 3 heads while watching your videos about Blackbeard and I now think Blackbeard has “Hito Hito no mi, model: Ashura”(a god Ashura) which have 3 heads, 6 arms and 2 legs. I thought of this after you mentioned Blackbeard absorbing his twins and thought if he had that when he joined Whitebeard, it would explain why he never sleeps; the dreamer gets a fresh start to the morning, the reckless goof parties in the afternoon and the schemer plans at night skulking through the shadows.
It shouldn’t be forgotten, Aoikiji being a marine admiral, murder, violence and extortion were a regular part of his life as a marine.
He could’ve saw that by joining Blackbeard and becoming a commander, he may be able to actually protect more people, as he’s be at the center of the storm.

I think aokji is a sword member and was tasked to get intel on bb same as drake. I also think that is the reason why coby was kidnapped I think bb sold him to the cross guild for some money(bc of his hero status). And I also think that coby will become a meber on cross guild to gather intel on the group and buggy seeing how they operate.
Shiryu always reminds me of M. Bison (Vega in Japanese) from Street Fighter. He just has the vibes and outfit to represent the head of the Shadaloo crime syndicate.

Yeah Kuzan is totally just keeping an eye on Blackbeard from the inside. I think he's doing it on his own though and isn't actually working for the Marines. I know Oda likes to mislead us but I can't see him pulling a complete 180 on Kuzan's character this late in the game. Yes he is willing to go fairly far for his sense of Justice like assisting in the destruction of Ohara but he still does have a fairly good moral code.
I think kuzan is working for red hair pirates to stop Blackbeard
Kuzan is either the second-in-command behind whoever runs SWORD, likely to be Garp, or he is working undercover as an agent for Dragon. So, either way, he is likely working under either Luffy's father or grandfather.
Also, if either of these did turn out to be true, Kuzan wouldn't need to report to anyone and no one would need to report to him. He would have one goal given to him, by either Garp or Dragon, and that is to infiltrate Blackbeard's crew by any means necessary and to become one of them. Kuzan wouldn't need to care about reporting what is happening to Garp, or Dragon, because he just needs to become the perfect mole. This then gives Kuzan the freedom to do whatever he pleases in order to fit in with the rest of the crew. It also gives the faction that Kuzan really works for the upper hand when they really need to him to turn the tides in either a battle or in even just obtaining information that no one else could (e.g. on Blackbeard's ship or something).
However, once we get an interaction with Kuzan and Koby, I think gears will start turning as to where Kuzan's true allegiance really lies. Kuzan never had to worry about anyone but himself around the Blackbeard pirates, however, if he was with SWORD, he would likely know that Koby is too. This could then lead to the Blackbeard pirates noticing changes in Kuzan's behavior around Koby though we will just have to wait and see.
There's another option considering black beard is oda's favorite pirate it's entirely possible that Oda set him up as a villain but he could easily be more altruistic than we think if he thinks his way is right I could see kazan joining
I think Sanji will actually fight Shiryu. Sanji will want to take revenge on him for taking the devil fruit he has always wanted (said this on Thriller Bark) and will therefore want to beat him.
His opponent will most likely be lafette. Dude to his long legs his a fitting to fight sanji

Kuzan was Garps pick for Fleet Admiral and his Way of Justice is completely different from that of Akainus. Kuzan just couldn’t accept his “Absolute Justice” and they Battled it out. Ppl are underestimating him heavy. He fought TEN days 1 v 1 with Akainu who was obliterating enemies left and right at Marineford.
On Punk Hazard he said to smoker : “No matter what you think about me, i’m still me Smoker” so imo theres no way Kuzan is just an evil MF now 🧊

my theory
Kuzan's lazy justice is so true to its name, he joined Blackbeard so he is guaranteed to be the first to interfere and save them outside of the Straw Hats.
Garp and Sengoku are not one to sit idle and they're closely linked Kuzan, seeing as Sengoku wanted Fleet, but Garp his mentor repeated denied even an admiral stage to cut the control the Celestials have on them.
I think Kuzan has every right to willingly lose the battle on Punk Hazard and become an ex-marine to write a narrative of a stray mercenary, one which Blackbeard would gladly add, although Blackbeard of all people know Kuzan's character.
Which probably explains why Auger is so close he's almost watching Aokiji, perhaps even as a titan, BB knows better than to fully trust Kuzan.

Kuzan joined BB's crew because he wants to observe how exactly BB approaches things.
I sorta dont like the idea of Pizarro being matched against Sanji, hes just picked there because Burgess has other matches that make sense. personally it makes far more sense for Sanji to fight Laffite, specially if we subscribe to the theory that Laffite has an angel devil fruit, or is of the angelic races, as it would contrast Sanji's devil theme, not to mention that it feels more deserving for sanji to have an opponent that has had more screentime and place within the original black beard crew. On a similar note, I think Catarina Devon's theme fit way better to fight against Nami, as her epithet, appearance, and new devil fruit powers lend themselves to a more illusion based combat style, magic stuff, and circle around Nami's theme of being a witch (being called a sorceress, training under weather wizards, stealing a familiar from the worlds strongest witch, it makes thematic sense that she would end up fighting another magician, and thats a kitsune's specialty)

Back here after Kuzan is the tenth captain, and I have a few thoughts:
- Probably, it’ll be Robin vs Kuzan now. I mean, given the history those two have, that would be a gripping and emotionally charged battle.
- With that, I would move Nami to fighting Devon (going off that logic that two important female characters will generally fight each other)
-Most of all, I’d move Brook to fight Laffitte, who seems to be his logical matchup. They are both thin, light agile and fight with a shafted weapon. Additionally, the angel/ devil contrast the two bring makes Laffitte a better fit for Brook than any other member
- Since one’s left over, I’d say one member (probably Vasco Shot) will be taken down by Luffy before the main fight starts (like he took down Blueno before fighting Lucci)

I think there is something you can look at. In manga chapter 699, Smoker asked Kuzan about his affliction. Kuzan mentioned that "I'm just me...". This tells that Kuzan has a motive, and it is a noble motive. We will soon know though, what is his motive

About Kuzan, i personaly think he works with nobody. After he loses against Sakazuki he left the Marine and had time to think. He wants an explanation why Ohara was destroyed, aka the real reason-> the real history.
