Needle nose vice grips work well for me installing the wrist pin clips. Removing them as well. Also I lube everything up with 2 stroke oil when assembling.
@@misguidedmotorsports When I was a child, my dad worked as a delivery driver for the Dr. Pepper plant. They did the bottling and canning RC cola along with the distribution. There were the times when they had crown caps on the 12 ounce returnable bottles. His route took him close by home during lunch on Wednesdays and I always got a freshly bottled something of my choice. They took the carbonation to the moon back in those days and it didn't matter what pop you got, you got a good eye burner from all the carbonation. The RC was my go to back then.
Yooo that was a malossi 70cc kit. 49 cc pistons fall threw the stud spacing and 70's don't. And I'm running an aluminum s6 "prostreet mk2? Pro something, and no not the iron streetrace kit" single ring kit and it's being going strong for around 11k miles. You just need to make sure all horizontal edges of the ports are chamferred and smooth. Don't round the ports or change a lip, you just need to take the sharpness off. Mines running strong with almost no visible scratches and you can see all the crosshatching still. These s6 cylinder kits are amazing. Titanium lined ring with nickel cyl wall. Fully recommend. I use to daily ride on the single ring
And the piston and head probably looks like that because it had a stock carb. It was burning up from not enough air flow. When u upgrade these scooters it's like when u upgrade one thing a bunch of stuff has to be upgraded if u don't want mechanical failure. I guess that's why mines running so long because I took ALL the precautions. 😂
Install piston into the jug and mark where the exchange , intake and exhaust ports are on the piston. Ramp the piston. Push piston to the top of its stroke and look into the exhaust. If skirt is showing, mark that so you can shave it off. Enjoy the ride. Ramping and skirting a piston will gain more power and the cost is only time.
If someone steels your girl at the bar tha last thing you should think about Is messing with his scooter!!! Lmao first off If some dude cruises to the bar on his scooter and pulls my girl, I'm going straight home In my Duramax and coming back wit my scoot and he and I are having a fucking scoot race my guy😂😂
I just bought a bug eye Zuma from a ginger kid and his dad. I pull up and the scoot has a big jumper pack hooked to the battery and the dad is stomping the kick starter furiously. Which confused me because i agreed to purchase the scooter in non-running condition. Maybe he thought he could get more money outta me if it started? Joke woulda been on him, I'm broke. Anyway the last kick he gives it, the kick starter stayed pointing down. He had screwed the kick start clamp bolt in the wrong direction. Anyone familiar with these knows that means it wasn't clamping anything like that. Goodbye splines right. The dad tells me his kid bought the Zuma(for way more money than I'm paying) rode it for five minutes and it died and never started again, and he thinks it just needs the electric choke. I paid the kid, brought the scoot home, and it has 60psi compression. Upon cylinder removal i find a BADLY scored 70cc cylinder and piston, with a stock 49cc head gasket hanging way into the cylinder. Wonderful, but pretty much what I expected. PS I'm amazed how big and heavy the Zuma is. These things must be unbelievably slow stock. I've got a Vino that uses the same engine and i swear it weighs at least 100lbs less than the Zuma and it's a foot shorter. The Zuma is a tank
When you open a motorcycle shop, you are opening yourself to working on bikes that you are not familiar with. First time for a horizontal motor (openly admitted), although have dealt with many other small bore 2 strokes. However, BRAND new to the BUGEYE as well as case induction. Thank you for watching 3 minutes!
The way he was amazed that the carb fed air/fuel directly to the crank case was sad...........its like uuhhh every 2T gas engine known to man pulls the intake charge into the crankcase first lol. Then he couldn't tell that malossi 70cc bbk was a 70cc bbk...even when taking it apart.
@@chrisapolinar1102he unhooks the fuel line and says "why is this not pissing gas right now?". He works on scooters and doesn't even understand a vacuum petcock? I've found(in my four years working on mostly scoots, as opposed to three previous sixteen years working on bigger stuff) that "scooter mechanics" are often at a much lower level of mechanical knowledge and ability than automotive mechanics. I have theories on why this seems to be the case, but I don't want to write a book in the utube comments. I'm sure the video creator is probably a decent mechanic, but was just new to this specific stuff. Hopefully(for his customers)
Doesn’t know about case induction, can’t look at a cylinder and tell aftermarket from stock, and then pulls the head off and still doesn’t recognize it’s not stock right away-the oring head gasket should have gave it away, among other things and then shows the head to the camera and it clearly has MALOSSI cast right into it. 🤦♂️
Can’t believe you put that piston into the cylinder with lubing it with some premix, bet you put the wrist pin bearing in dry also. You really need to do better. That old piston and rod got hot because someone ran it out of oil.
@@TEAMVISKAT81 what's kinda interesting is that my 47mm cylinder kit was sold as a "72cc big bore". But I saw some 47mm kits are sold as a 70cc. So I looked into it, and used a displacement calculator to find out the actual displacement. A Minarelli horizonal has a 39mm stroke, so with a 47mm piston it's actually only 68ccs. That sucks haha
Hope you enjoy this one, head over to our website for all your bike needs big or small! misguidedco.com/
I have an 09 Zuma 125 but I am about to put in a 158cc big bore and a new fuel injector. These videos you guys do are fun!

THAT RAP FIRE
Clock wrist pin clips at 6 or 12 o'clock. The opening that is.
12 o'clock is how my Japan assembled 04 Zuma came from factory.
That engine saw a lot of cold starts straight to rides
Yes sir
No that engine was likely run without oil in the tank or no one bled the oil pump when the new bbk went on and seized it right away.
measure piston width that will confirm

They're 49cc stock here. So since a 70cc has a bigger bore than stock, we call it a big bore. As do the places that sell them
