STUFF I USED TO MAKE THIS ROSE HIGHLIGHTER :
printer paper
food coloring/water
hot glue gun/glue sticks
lose shimmering pigments "any"
setting spray
toothpick
a container, your choice. I used old elf hd powder container.
a brush
oven, stove, iron - just to dry the wet petals

People are being so rude in the comment section! This man deserves respect! He literally CREATED a flower, and that is amazing compared to all these videos which show a random fake flower powdered with highlight. This is so creative and so well explained. Why are you complaining about his voice? As a French speaker I did not notice anything wrong with the way he speaks. It is a calm and relaxing voice and I liked the explanations because it is necessary to describe all the different steps needed to reach the final result. And for those who say "why don't you buy a flower at the supermarket and add highlight on it..." It's a DIY, damn, I don't think that adding highlighter on a fake flower deserve a video. He made the flower so what is your point? Thank you for this video it was amazing and it turned out so beautiful. I think I'm gonna try it even though it's gonna look like a true mess. Your flower is pretty! Be proud of your patience and creativity. And don't get into the negativity underneath, don't it give a damn. Xx

Your DIY is actually genius because the fake flowers that people buy cannot hold pigment well due to the fabric-like material while paper can become damp and hold the pigment better. GREAT JOB!!!

This rose is literally the prettiest of DIYed rose highlighters on entire TH-cam. It looks almost real - so delicate. But it's also saturated with the pigments. This looks like it works better than the original which is too powdery and not really doing what it should do. Yours is just precious

It's so wasteful though!! I hate it when these D.I.Y. and craft projects are just about buying and destroying perfectly good products to make something half-arsed that's probably going to end up in the bin when it all goes wrong :(

you guys know that paper gets moist better, therefore it will hold the highlighter better than those flowers you buy, since they are made of a plastic like material, yeah it's time consuming but it beats paying 60 bucks for the "high-end" one
Shoutout to for actually making a real diy and not going and buying a fake flower and painting it and then adding the highlight don't get me wrong I like it but I really like your version better!!

Maddy Gorham you can buy a fake flower and coat it with your favorite highlight, just powder it up and put it over the flower.. but it wont be as much fun 🙌

First of all, I have made MANY a flower... your directions/method for a rose put Martha Stewart's method to shame lol. Sooo much easier. Her's came out a little bit bigger, a tad more realistic looking. However, you could totally make some adjustments to this and achieve the same result as her, but in half the time, and requiring half the dexterity. Never thought of making my own flower to do this. Genius. I have everything I need here lol. I wonder how different papers would hold up (i.e. card-stock, handmade, scrapbook paper, coffee filters-Martha's choice). Tip, you can also use water colors and do a bled of colors on the petals if you really have some time on your hands. Makes them super pretty. Could probably brush on different tone highlights/blush/whatever else to get the same effect. The possibilities are endless! This was a great idea, can't wait to try it :)
