Simple Bomb Drop for RC Plane

This is a real simple way to make a bomb drop mechanism that puts very little pressure on the servo arm. The servo arm hangs straight down in the neutral position, so the servo isn't straining against the rubber band or using extra current, and it very easily pulls the wire out of the nylon control arm for release even with quite a bit of pressure on the rubber band. The plane is a scratch build made from Dollar General Foam Board using free plans from FliteTest.com. I used the swappable pod "Duster" plans as designed by Josh Bixler, but converted it to a high wing to use as an aileron trainer. It has lots of unused space in the lower part of the fuselage, so I couldn't resist adding the bomb drop. Shown here are 5 large red Nerf bullets, but it also will carry 2 parachute men or just about anything under a quarter of a pound and small enough to fit underneath.

They're just the larger sized Nerf gun bullets. I picked them up in the toy section at Walmart.
