    What courage this took…
Your journal/Journey/direct experience proves you weren’t That.
    You weren’t Them.
    And there is only ✨This.✨
    You made it, Friend.
    We did.
It was my greatest adversary and my most proud victory.
    Still fighting, still healing.
Grateful and delighted to have found you, Dan and this loving and supportive and very Helpful community.

Wow this made me look at my journal again and the final page was NO written all over the page and then a huge circle and cross thru it. I was saying to myself I will take no more abuse, no more pills and take back my power by saying no. I have come a long way and thank you Dan for sharing some of your journal as it allowed me to look back as well and realize how far I have come. I also recall a time about 1 or 2 months in I found a pill in the refrigerator how it got there who knows. I remember staring at the pill all day like my precious LOL. I was so sick, but I crushed it up and flushed it down the toilet. I am 9 months clean of everything today. No antidepressants, alcohol, benzos etc. I don't need them anymore because I am learning to regulate my own happiness. Maybe I am stronger than I give myself credit for. I faced my traumas head on, and I am getting ready to face the whole kit and kaboodle Monday when my whole family comes together.
It is possible to heal from this because 9 months ago I was so sick it was beyond comprehension. Today I am continuing to heal, grow, learn and improve. I have up/downs etc but overall, I believe I am the best I have ever been in my life, and I would not consider myself healed yet. I shot my best round of golf ever a 79 and just 9 months ago I couldn't leave the house, barely eat, suicidal daily and the list goes on. It almost seems unreal to be honest like I am dreaming or something.
Find help if you are sick and don't do this alone. You will get better, and it is worth it.

Wenn did you make the most improvement? I 4,5 month off ativan which i took over 3 years 3mg a day, and i m still struggeling with massive withdrawal!

@@diefilmkitchenjohannessand2173 Hi, I think around the 6-7 month mark I started getting better. I was able to leave the house, start working part time and had enough mental ability to start changing my looping negative intrusive thoughts. I am not healed yet by any means but compared to how I was I can't even describe it. Me personally I needed support from this community and a best friend close to me. I also have a girlfriend that stuck by me during this as well that was a life saver. At 9 months clean I can say even the bad days are nothing in comparison to the beginning. Dan always says it just takes time and keep going it gets better but you have to put in the work as well.
I hope you keep going because it is worth it in my opinion. Keep reaching out for help there is a lot of great people in here to help. It saved my life.

@@donna6165 Hi Donna, I got back from the Fam visit. It was great and heavy at the same time. It was the right decision but also brought up a ton of raw emotion for which I was beating myself up for being emotional. Mixed feeling for sure and when healing from benzo withdrawal it is pretty darn difficult. Will fill you in more when I get a chance to process stuff more. I am still way to emotional at times which is frustrating. Have a great night and talk with you soon

I gained over 50 lbs.. it sucks. My neck pain will not go away for months now so I'm gonna try physical therapy next week. I did stretches on my own from watching therapists on video but it's just not working. I tried to journal for a while but gave up with the journey being so long. Once I realized what the benzo's were doing, I never took another one and had zero desire to. I do take other low dose muscle relaxers my doctor gave me.

    • @donna6165
      @donna6165 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I gained weight too, Michael; it was discouraging, I remember. But, the weight came off me as my gut health/digestion improved/healed and I could feel and be more in control as well. Mentally to make smart food choices and physically to exercise.
It’s frustrating, I know, but your body is finding its way, remembering and healing. Stay strong, you can do this. 💪🏻
