It's nice to see Bandai collabing with other franchises, hopefully I'll have my dream of having a RG Gunbuster A RG Gurren Lagann could also be really cool
You are a man after my own heart. A Real Grade full transforming Gunbuster would be phenomenal. I'm not holding my breath for it, but then again Bandaid did release new SRW kits, so anything is possible l.
Man, I am so excited for this kit. GGG was my personal favorite Suoer Robot show in my teens. Seeing it in RG form is a fever dream, and Goldymarg down the road too!
Speaking of comically tiny heads, when I was a kid every year for my birthday and Christmas I would get a power rangers megazord, and every time my grandma would say "why are their heads always so small? It looks so weird / it doesn't look right".
Thanks for doing a review of this thing, it looks as amazing as I thought it would be. I've heard about the kit being finicky when combined, and you rather demonstrated where it's finicky in, definitely a kit more for display rather than for play. Still, like you said, considering how this entire thing is a transforming kit made out of many components combining, it's still quite an achievement, and I like how you fully show off the full articulation of the GaoGaiGar. Was actually hoping you'd do a shake test of the GaoGaiGar or something like you do with most Gunpla. Will you be taking a look at the RG Goldymarg too? Would be nice to hear your thoughts on that big boy, especially when you combine it with GaoGaiGar.
A kit being loose, janky and finicky is my kryptonite, and they drive me absolutely around the bend. This however isn't one of them. I can only assume it's finicky if you're not careful with the transformation at the lions mane, the head transformation and the locking mechanism at the front of the legs. And the Goldymarg is in the mail right now!!!
I saw images last month and was shock with so much joy! I love GaoGaiGar as much as Getter Robo. it is the mecha series that introduce me to the Brave series and what made me want to watch the older mecha series.
I have to say between the SMP line, which this kit definitely took pointers from, RG Goagaigar, and the MG Zeta Bandai is definitely getting their transformations down very well. I can't wait to see where they go with this next.
I want it too. But they have to fix a lot of design flaws they had with the normal GGG. I have the figure, but I havent finished it yet completly. One of its fists self-destructed, and the frill threads don‘t stay together at all. I will melt them together with the plastic cement. And the Helmet and Face mask fall off way too easily😅. can‘t recommend it for the price point.
Every GaoGaiGar kit or figure I've seen that has the combination has GaiGar with either a small head or two heads to swap between, one small transformation head and one larger anime accurate head. And yeah without being a pre-built toy, the transformation/combination on this looks to be surprisingly good! I also loved that you did the anime combination sequence XD
Really looking forward to getting this figure. Often times with Gaogaigar figures the Final Fusion can make the whole figure a bit finicky due to how everything has to fit together, just look at the original action figure or the Soul of Chogokin figure they made a few years back. Then you have the hands where often there's quite a bit of engineering gone into the hands and arms alone in order for the figure to do "Hell & Heaven" even when the figure has the extra hand parts for the finishing move the arms still need to come together which impacts both the chest and shoulders
1:55 I would argue that the cheap gold is even better. It feels more appropriate. Like the actual mechanics were aiming for gold, but they can't be assed to make something that looks good and can take a hit.
@@StrikeNoir105E Having real gold might be weirder. I dunno, maybe the fake gold looks like some metal that was high class decoration in their culture. Maybe the aliens just have really gaudy taste?
For those interested, GaiGar is officially listed as being 23.5 m at the top of it's head, the Nu Gundam at it's head is 23 m even, the RX-78-2 is officially listed at 18 m, and GaoGaiGar is officially listed at 31.5 m tall. Meaning if this was to scale, you'd be looking at an 8.5 inch or 21.87 cm tall figure.
This may not scaled to most gunplas but this does (kinda) scaled to the other Brave robots from the SMP/Super Minipla line. GGG does have several kits in that line but they're not scaled to Brave robots that came after. So this RG could be Bandai's way to make a GGG that is scaled to the other Brave robots.
I didn't watch the anime but will still get this because it looks ok. Also it might encourage Bandai to release an RG Mazinger and RG Daltanias, hopefully one day 😌
HELL YES! It's GaoGaiGar time! I've added this one to my wishlist. As soon I get some spare money I'll be getting this kit. I love ths super to bits and I can only hope we get a Genesic GGG with the Goldion Crusher.
knowing the nature of a combiner+transforming mecha which is bound to be fragile with so many moving parts, plus the fact that this is also a modelkit made from many miniscule parts a la Real Grade, this is Bandai's i think most ambitious modelkit ever made. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
I didn’t expect it to have that good of articulation when all the armor is on. I sort of want to get this now even tho I’m not a huge fan of the super robot design.
This honestly gives me tiny hope that we see another GaoGaiGar anime. So glad I preordered this kit as well as goldymarg. Edit: be careful with the hands. I broke the joints that connect the ball joint peg to the hand piece on both hands and had to fix it with a metal nail. They stay together but they're really wobbley
That looks awesome, I ordered on Amazon for black Friday, I ordered him because of the fact that it's a model kit and I'm interested in figures that transforms
@@argacc20417 Hasbro can't bully Bandai not without a case as Bandai is, when I posted this currently at writing, about the same if not is bigger than Hasbro.

actually... Gaogaigar belongs to Sunrise. and as we all know. Sunrise owns Gundam. so basically it's the same company.
