I remember finding the cassette single of this in the bargin bin of my local record store back in '95. Knew none of their stuff but gave it a go. I ended up playing it to death.
My god they knock the shit out of anything today......We were so blessed in the 90's ecstasy and Reef, Happy happy times. Emily get them at Glasto........
Too many "under rated band" comments, just cos they werent on TOTP every week doesnt make them under rated, they gigged fucking hard in the 90's and every albums a belter, they simply just weren't that mainstream, and i think that's the way they liked it.
Waaay Before My Time (im 14) but goddd do I love Reef..!!! My cousin toured with them xD didn't meet them which I was sad about haha Ah Well !!! Love Ya Reef
Great band live. Always felt like they needed a guitar solo in their songs, despite the fact that the British music press would have crucified them for it.
Some nice guitar work in Reef songs, especially the end of this track. Kenwyn is a beast of a player. He was my guitar tutor for a bit. Great teacher, great enthusiasm 👍
Songs like this just work around that voice still great guitar big power chords with ranged diddles inbetween his vocals some of there other songs had epic riffs .I just put this on 2021 you forget how good some of these bands were
I would say similar to BM, though BM did have a massive grunge influence. Reef were always what I would call surf rock, heavier but having that blues influence still
@@SyTheMetalhead Reef are like Surf Rock aren't they..........? They could even be similar to Ugly Kid Joe! They were like Californian Surf Rock, only they rocked a little harder but I see the similarity to Blind Melon too. I love this song it has such good mid-1990's vibes. Takes me right back. I actually recorded this song off the radio in 1996 but had no idea who it was back then. These guys were great.
@@thrasher1889 I wou;d say that Reef are very much surf rock, I know that the band surfed as I used to knock around their local breaks and surfed with them a few times. I can see the comparison to bands like Ugly Kid Joe and Blind Melon, another band which springs to mind is an Australian surf rock band called Thirsty Merc, always thought they sounded quite like Reef as well. An even lesser known British surf rock band you might not have heard of are Rootjoose, from the south west of England(surf country as we say) and very much have a similar style to Reef so well worth checking out as well.
Incredible voice, this band was shown to me, when I was 14 (43 now), came back this year to listen/remember.
Incredible band, never got the recognition they deserve. Takes me back to being a carefree teen every time I hear this track.
Unbelievably underrated band ! Brilliant All-righter!!
They're even better live. Criminally underrated!
This song never fails to make me smile, was lucky enough to see these play at fistral beach back in 95...good times
First seen them on The Word in 1995, blew my mind! Superb band and vocals!
All these years on, still love em, still One of my fave bands. Reef \m/
I loved Reef. To me they were our version of Blind Melon. Love that band too. Oh i miss the 90s so much/
That's what I thought too. Gary Stringer reminds me of Shannon Hoon.
“Loved”? They are still going! Latest album is great. Saw them at a festival this year and they’ve still got it!

The British chilli peppers.
+Harrysound this song and sing style reminds more of Blind Melon for me.
