Love the way u trace the map with the pointer, it’s a great visual trigger 🙏 And the independence thing regarding Punjab that you mentioned has to do with certain separatist Sikhs, not Muslims, who wanted a separate nation under their religious rule. As of now it’s kinda split, since most Sikhs don’t identify with the movement but there is a significant minority that do.

Correction - The borderline area you said is Punjab is wrong, Its another state of India called Rajastan. Also there is no freedom movement from the Punjab region gaining independence, Its a separatist movement called Khalistan, your Punjabi friend is a Khalistani. Punjab’s majority population is Sikh not muslim. Punjab is an integral part of India (same as Kashmir and Aksai Chin)

The name was written with the assumption that English speakers were using that type of accent. It comes from the native name which might also be written "myamma"
The small slither of India between Nepal and Bhutan is called Sikkim. It became an Indian protectorate in 1950 and a state in 1975. It had a feudal system all the way to 1949.

I've studied the history of sri lanka. So basically they're going under this majoritarian ideology. Sri lanka has two linguistic population , the first one is Sinhala speaker and the Other second is Tamil speaker. Sinhala speaker are more in population when compared to Tamil speakers. Sinhala people formed the government and launched some acts/laws which favour the sinhala speaking people and even the official religion of the country which is Buddhism. They completely neglect the Tamil speaking population and refused to give them a state of their own. A few years ago ( I'm guessing around 20-30 years back ) The prime minister of india was bombed to death by a terrorist because of the incidents in sri lanka. The organisation was LTTE ( Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam ) eelam means a state by the way. And so yeah.. basically the prime minister ( Rajeev Gandhi ) probably supported the sinhala speaker to stop the civil war and got bombed to death by a suicide bomber during a public speech.
all what you said is basically correct but in karnataka which is in the south they dont speak telugu they speak kannada which is one of the languages spoken in the south
