Coming from Africa I always separated the regions into North, West, Horn(Ethiopia/Somalia/Djibouti etc), Central(Congo/Angola etc), East(Tanzania[the name is a joining of Tanganyika and Zanzibar]/Kenya etc), and Southern(Zambia/Mozambique/Namibia etc). Mostly geographic, or economic regions, as like you, said extremely diverse and often geography is the most we have in common (besides maybe religion and shared oppression) maps countries and history are my special interest so this was really fun to watch ty (ps I learned today that Bantu languages share the whole changing a word at the beginning vs at the end in Germanic/Latin languages from this video). {Too many brackets}

Yesterday I had a huge migraine. I've had them all my life, but yesterday's was really awful. I needed to sleep to recover and wasn't able to because the pain was unbearable. This particular video (audio I should say) did it for me. Thank you so much.
Madagascar is apart of the Malay language group. Others in this language group are Malay, native Australian languages, Javanese, Sumatran, Tamil, and most polynesian languages.

Some of this is false, just to clarify: There were major trade routes going through the Sahara, way before contemporary technological advancements. The Trans-Saharan trade is why Empires like Mali and Ghana or Songhay were so wealthy as they controlled these routes. Also, the Bantu migration was a key driver of change for African communities, both organizational and linguistically. So yeah, just wanted to bust that myth of no travel through the Sahara or no migration of West Africans to the East and vice versa.

The Romanian flag was first but then they changed it to the coat of arms for a while. Then Chad created their flag and later Romania switched back. The blues are actually different shades but I can't really tell them apart.

Just a few observations (I'm meant to be drifting off to sleep, but I'm too interested in anything to do with Africa)
There is no such language as Ethiopian. Amharic and Tigrinyia as well as other languages are spoken there.
I travelled quite a bit in Morocco. It gets cold up in the Atlas Mountains at night!
I think the hottest temperatures recorded in Africa are in the north (Algeria or Tunisia I think)
Main language of Madagascar is Malagasy.
Swahili has a lot of similarities with Arabic. For example, the numbers are silmilar.
On the subject of language diversity, Cameroon and Nigerian have hundreds of different languages. I started learning Yoruba (Nigerian) and then a little Igbo and discovered how they are quite different and not mutually intelligible.

If I’m not mistaken Madagascar has its own tectonic plate separate from the African plate

Yeah if I remember correctly it broke off the Indian plate and swam into our embrace. The language family is different too cause (this might be myth) some traders from the Indonesian islands got shipwrecked there forever ago and mixed with locals. Must’ve been a big ship.

I’m sorry but what was that comment about Western Sahara at around 27:00 ??? Saying „oh sorry no it’s technically Morocco“ when it’s not? I don’t even know a lot about the conflict, but from what I’ve read it’s even considered the last colony to exist. Imagine it would still belong to Spain, would you make the same comment then, acting as if the people of Western Sahara don’t deserve sovereignty? „Oh sorry it’s not marked as Spain on this map, I know this deeply upsets my Spanish viewers!1!!1!“. I hope you would not right? Not sure if you think this way you can stay „apolitical“ or if you’re trying to appease your 3 Morroccan viewers.
