Of only the Tag came with the Omega movement! For my wrist the Tag would be a better fit and I actually prefer the dial and hand design over the Omega. The Omega is clearly a better watch, but is it $(€,£)2,100 better? I think not. Omega, Rolex and Brietling charge crazy prices now: the Tag is more aligned with Tudor pricing and I'm happy with that. So until I try on the Tag, it remains the winner for me. 🙂
I own this Omega and a previous generation Aquaracer and rather like both of them. Not a fan of the cyclops at the 6 on the Tag other than that I think the Tag is sharper looking. My Breitling Superocean Heritage gets way more wrist time than either of these.
Just picked up the Tag black dial. After having owned previous Omega SMP 300’s the new Tag Aqua Racer is much more comfortable and wearable then the Omega. It’s thinner then a submariner date. Plus it cost half the price of the Omega. Is the Omega twice the watch? No it’s not.
I definitely prefer the Tag Heuer. Slimmer and not such a brick like the Omega and the front looks much better. I will buy the one with the orange sweep hand.
I have both of these watches, and I prefer the Tag. Very comfortable, a bit less clunky without the helium release valve, cool lume. Not a fan of the cyclops either as another commenter noted.

I think of the two the TAG is the better looking watch, although it has wandered into Seamaster homage territory now. The HEV, skeleton hands and bracelet of the Omega don’t do it for me. I’ve had both, however, and you can feel in hand the superior quality of the Omega as a product - even though the bracelet doesn’t look great, it’s super supple and comfortable to wear. And obviously the Omega has the better movement. For the money asked though I’d buy neither - the Tudor Pelagos 39 is the middle ground price wise and better than both, would take that all day long.
Not a fan of a homage, which is definitely what the tag is. The omega is a better made watch. That being said…and i am an omega fan…i think the tag is the better looking watch, if we’re going just based off of that.
Remember everyone, Omega should be higher quality because of its price difference. Having said that, being a former owner of the 300m, I’d easily pick up the Aquaracer over it. I’m still surprised how well it wears on my 7 inch wrist. So Tags aren’t built with second hand value in mind. Who cares? I’d just glady wear it without worrying much about it depreciating in value.
No right or wrong, depends on the wearer. Omega is still an Omega, just that I think Tag should be more creative, benefit of a doubt that they are not deliberately following the design of Omega.
@baegyu6715 I wouldn't say cheaper but Omega looks more professional it has more like mathematical design and the aquaracer is more aesthetics and younger to my eyes.

I might pick up the Aquaracer at some point, when it's hopefully available under MSRP. My only concern is the bracelet. The links look so thin and it's a pin system, I fear that it just feels cheap, like a 300€ Seiko bracelet, because it looks pretty much exactly like one.

Funny how times change. I remember when they were calling the Seamaster the Sub killer because they couldn't get a rolex.... now people are calling it ugly
had a sub, hardly wore it because I didnt want anything $10k+ on my wrists, sold it, got an SMP, wear it all the time and don't miss the sub. Oh and thankful for the $5k extra,.
I've never bought a Rolex because I - just like you - couldn't wear a car on my wrist. But I do enjoy my 2017 SMPc as my everyday watch.
Anyway an Omega is also a car in your wrist 😅
@@Mauricioa1096 It cost €3,000 so it's not a car on my wrist 😊.
@@Mauricioa1096 Not even close my friend
The Tag is a straight up rip off of the Submariner. The braclet on the Omega looks clunky and too busy. The needless knob at 10 oclkck postion and the unnecessarily thick case of the Omega ruins the asthmatic of the watch. The Tag is aesthetcally better, but that's because it looks like a Submariner.
The Omega is on a different level. No watch makers come close.
