I've seen too many react videos where the guy reacting is literally just a silent dude in a little box that laughs occasionally or alternatively gives commentary that adds nothing to the original video
This dude on the other hand actually interacts with the video and provides genuine and creative commentary that, even if it doesn't exactly pertain to the story, is still interesting to hear

Ive been watching numerous react channels all over the years. And I gotta say the most engaging reactors are usually have the background or experience on the stuff they react. For example: film maker or doctor reacts etc provided that the content has any connection to what theyre doing of course
Renegade media group is another good react channel for their commentary in my opinion. They can take a 5 minute reaction and turn it into a 20 minute video because in their own words "we don't know when to shut up"

I'll suggest it here once more, "The Cost of Concordia" is a video I'd love to get your insight on, & I'll bump a comment I saw on another video by suggesting the channel "Ahoy" who does awesome videos on the history of various guns in video games.
Cost of Concordia is great, and Ahoy is an underrated... or maybe not underrated, but a great channel that fly under the radar due to long breaks between (high quality) videos.

I can't tell how many times I've watched Internet Historians videos through reactions alone.
It’s kinda wild how dependent most games successes are depend on their launch.
I mean look at Titanfall 2 that game is stupendous and a titan sized amount of fun. But EA messed up in the launch by having it launch in between Battlefield and The Cod game that came out then…
But to be fair. One of the biggest parts of the fallout series is talking to the NPCs and the experience of being apart of a post apocalyptic wasteland, so idk what they expected by making none of the npcs be friendly wastelanders.
The worst part is, it could've still worked. They remove the story, dialogue and world building, but they could've put the rest into gameplay.
Like, imagine if they doubled down on stat requirements. A character with high strength and endurance can use heavy armour and heavy melee, but lack the stats to use good guns (perception) or use good healing items (intelligence), thus inviting a character with high intelligence will cover his shortcomings, then another with perception to act as DPS.
But instead, every player's a DPS, you team up so you can kill the boss faster.
I mean it's not THAT wild, considering the sheer volume of "early access" titles that plague the industry these days. Pay to play the alpha and "MAYBE" we will patch the game to be playable over the next X amount of years, WHILE we also have microtransactions IN said alpha so we can milk the playerbase in the interim....that philosophy in game-dev has poisoned the well for too many people, so first impressions have to count.
@@AndrevusWhitetail I totally agree with you, because even now that they’ve fixed the story and a lot of bugs that were there on launch, I still don’t want to play 76 mostly just because of the impression it left on me during release. But I will say that if they had done more for the launch, (like yunno, not remove one of the most iconic parts of fallout) the fan base for 76 would be larger and more dedicated than it is now.
@@imakira21 i got 76 for $5 on steam. Only issue i had was a door not working and i had to install a mod to help with the graphics cause it roasted my pc. I play with fallout 4 graphics. Other then that its great. Atom shop is your typical micro-transaction store.
@@AndrevusWhitetail In some cases, like the world's best sci-fi game Starsector, it's just that the developer really wants to get the game to a perfect state before releasing it on Steam or similar. Even if the game is completely playable and has been for the past ten years.
A lot of people still get hard copies actually. I like them because it’s nice to see the game on my shelf, and I also don’t have to delete or redownload games all the time. Plus, I feel more secure with a physical game; digital games make me worry that someone from the company could just say “eh you don’t have this anymore”. It sounds ludicrous but It happened before, granted with a free demo; P.T. Is now impossible to play because Konami pulled the plug for incredibly stupid reasons. Point is, I’m paranoid haha.
Skipping ads is generally considered bad etiquette for reaction channels; the advertisers don’t really care about reaction channels but overall, don’t do it. Bad form.
'Hard copies' which are just a code are not really hard copies for your purpose, now are they?
I can understand if the reason is because you like how they look on the shelf, I know alot of people like that. For anything else though, it's just easier to download. Even games that do have the disk still require you to download the game nowadays, it's completely pointless.
The only exception is the Switch, which saves you a ton of space if you buy physical. Just pop in the cartridge and start playing, and only the save file is saved to your system.
That's the only system I buy physical for, because the Switch doesn't have that much storage space, or else I would also just download everything on there as well. Just more convenient I think.
@@nit0134 It's ownership. 'Buy' the game from Steam, and technically you don't own the game, so says the corperations. You only bought access to a licience to play the game for a long as the company chooses to give you access, and they can remove that access at any time for any reason. Period.
But if you buy the game on Disk, in the real world, you OWN that copy of the game, and the company has no legal right to modify or break that game, period, as the company no longer has ownership of that code. It is yours, to do with as you please.
This is why with Digital games you can't trade or transfer them, you have no ownership of them, meanwhile physical copies you can do the same thing as the owner of any other product, and trade, sell, and transfer it to anyone you want for any reason you want.
It all comes down to ownership, which is why most companies switched over exclusively to Digital and no longer physical. Because then you don't own the game, period. So you have no rights, no say, no control, and no defense. The company has full control over that code on your PC or Console, and can do anything they want with it, including locking your access to it, or turning it into a virus to infect your PC, as you willingly gave your concept by buying it to give them that right, and to remove your own.
You will own nothing. And you will be happy.
Unless someone actually stands up and sue them over ownership. But that will never happen.

@@Jirodyne The unfortunate side to hard copies these days is that often times the copy you go home with is incomplete, and it's happening more and more. Which is why as time goes on, I (someone who prefers to physically have the thing I paid for) am starting to think about leaving the hobby behind in favor of focusing on older games and emulation solutions. At least I have my GoG library backed up. It's the only digital store-front I actually use. But selling a "physical" copy that's just a download code? Fuck that noise.

It was discovered after the Internet Historian video, but apparently some of the T-51 helmets that were part of that package carried dangerous asbestos because of the factory they were created in and there were recalls for some helmets.
56:09 Nintendo does that 'perfectly' with the DLC's in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, especially the Mii costumes! Sure they're just cosmetic/skins for customizable Mii fighters, but at least they're highly detailed and resemble certain characters closely enough that people would actually want to buy them (the Sans Mii costume is a prime example! When it came out, people went crazy over it, and the number of Mii Gunner mains grew drastically, just because the Sans costume looked so good that it felt genuinely like we were really playing as Sans), and more importantly they only cost like 75 Cents each! I'd say that's a fair enough deal, especially compared to Bethesda's scummy tactics.
So while microtransactions are pretty much a plague in the gaming industry, and even Nintendo is guilty of it, but at least Nintendo is much more fair/generous and better at delivering in that department than most other Triple-A game studios, and this clearly shows it.
The best example is TF2 and CSGO by steam. TF2 practically invented cosmetic micro transactionz.
I think that microtransactions aren't the WORST thing, I'm perfectly fine with them in fact. But when I say that I mean cosmetic microtransactions, lootboxes can go to hell but as long as you know what you're buying and it DOESN'T affect gameplay or give you any kind of upperhand then I'm fine with it.
To be fair, there was one really good 40k game recently. Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus, it’s sort of like XCOM, but you are a party of techpriests exploring a slowly awakening tomb world, I really recommend it, you can watch MandaloreGaming’s review of it if you’re interested.
Hired Gun was pretty good, especially for its price point.
And on the Wharhammer Fantasy side, Vermintide continues to be fun despite all the issues while Total War Warhammer is slowly improving on an already solid basis, even if it skins it's paying customers alive with DLC pricing.
And Gladius was pretty fun if Turn-Based Strategy is your thing.

I Recommend reacting to the webseries here on TH-cam "Memoirs of WW2". It's stories of WW2 told By the veterans themselves. they have Many Interesting perspectives from, Veterans that stormed Normandy, Veterans that stormed Okinawa, Tuskegee Airmen, German Soldiers, POW's, and many more. Not many people have reacted to it and I'd love to hear what you think about them.

I wonder what gave Todd Howard the idea of creating a Fallout MMO did he just see how many people liked ESO and made a Fallout version? or was he just high?
It was originally supposed to be Fallout 4 Multiplayer. But a LOT went wrong between redesigning the engine to support multiplayer and when they came to the realization that in order to add multiplayer to Fallout 4, they would virtually have to remake the whole game. So someone promised something they couldn't feasibly deliver and someone else decided that rather than cancel it, they would try and rectify the situation. Thus, Fallout 76 was prematurely born.
@@elecjack1 I really hope that a combination of the new creation engine and lessons learned doing Fallout 76 that by the time Fallout 5 comes out it will have at least two-player co-op.
In defense of hard copies, not everyone has good internet. Some people might not have access to internet at all, which would make this game literally unplayable even with the "hard copy".

1:00 I know I might be late to this, but in Fallout 3 (the game IH is recording at the time) you can reverse-pickpocket a live grenade or landmine into somebodies pockets and it would explode, dealing stupid amounts of damage to them and giving you a singular unit of "pants" that have fulfilled the criteria of exploding.

The left and right arrow keys go back and forward 5 seconds, respectively.

The rant about refunds and stuff makes a lot of sense to me now. My family bought a washing machine, it didn’t fit, so we tried to return it. But the company stalled so long with the refund process that we almost couldn’t even get the refund before the deadline

Litlle update of what i hear here and there:
-Game becomes graindier.
-New duplication glitches, exploits for weapones and blind ban hammers.
-hacker became a serious issue, player got robe while playing.
-New realease item for the shop, but this items and mechanics where already in the game just striped to be sold separatly (this was evident by people datamining and remanents)
-Bethesda claiming they coudnt fix the weight much higher because performance.... Sold higher carry capacity on the shop!
-Fixes and Mod info not from bethesda has been found in later uptdates, comunity was outraged.
-Mod support got a slap in the face. Modder get middle finger.

So Bethesda managed to recreate a Y2K problem 18 years later.
People in 1999 feared that software programed back then couldn't handle the 1999 to 2K change, of course that is stupid but there were numerous small errors displayed all over the world, such as the arrival time on some airports and train station appearing as 01.01.1000 or 01.01.9999.

I will say...despite the still semi-buggy nature, it's made a pretty damn impressive glow-up. Frontier added NPCs and factions...quests and loot got a pretty nice rework...and everything feels a lot more natural and involved, single or multiplayer. I still come back every few months to boot up my up subscription and play for a month or two...and it's nice to see it hasn't completely crashed and burned.
I just got into it 3 weeks ago. Having a blast.
I'm not sure if people expected Bethesda to MAKE the rum, but just the container for said rum.

Two notes:
When this video was published, FO76 was indeed not on Steam, but that changed in May 2020. EA games are also back in Steam, but still require an Origin account and Steam launches a lightweight version of Origin which then launches the game. Ubisoft games are no longer released on Steam, though.
On the celebrity alcohol thing, the one I recall is James Gin, marketed by James May of "Top Gear" fame. I don't like gin, so I haven't tried it, but it seems those who have quite like it.
I wouldn't have been at all surprised if it had been shit, though.

Yeah I bought a 4TB SSD drive for my Xbox Series X. And how big games are today I’m thinking of buying another storage expansion for the actual Series X so I can play all the new games that are optimized for the console
Bethesda was recently purchased by Microsoft, so there has been some hope that maybe they will start working to produce better games to help push people to x-box. Will it be fruit, I'm skeptical, but keeping my eye open on their next release.
Microsoft took minecraft and polished it greatly so i have hope.

You described electroplating not electrolysis. Electrolysis is the separation of chemical bonds via applied electric charge, a great example being the production of pure Aluminium and the Separation of Water into Hydrogen and Oxygen. Electroplating is used to coat one material, one that is usually sensitive to corrosion, in a thin shell of another material, usually resistant to corrosion.
Now i can't wait for other gems like Cost of Concordia to show up hohoh...

NOW you see that people WOULD'VE been angry about the canvas bags being nylon EVEN if the game was awesome. That was just blatant false advertising.
Oh god the whole thing about companies making it hard for customers to access stuff if they don't want to do it is so true. The most insulting case I've ever run into was when a bunch of debt collections agencies were given a wrong phone number, and began constantly blowing up MY phone with robocalls about some total strangers debts. That was annoying as fuck, so obviously I'd call back and let them know they had the wrong number on file. Most of the debt agencies just thanked me for the heads up and said they'd fuck off. But then my number wound up with one debt agency that started leaving robocall voicemails on my phone literally every single day. When I finally snapped and called them back to discuss that specific case number and tell them to fuck off... the person I was put into contact with for specifically dealing with that file heard my explanation, then said "Oh, sorry, I don't have the authority to remove a wrong phone number, you'll have to make an appointment to call our administrative department and arrange details with them." No amount of logic would convince this person to just write down the fact that he had the wrong goddamn number.
I blocked that companies number instead. I informed them they had the wrong information, they could fucking figure it out on their own time.

The Fall of 76 is good as a sort of black mirror vision of The Engoodening of No Man's Sky. On the one hand, you have a small studio who fucked up, got kicked in the dirt, and through hard work, redeemed themselves and their game. On the other, you have a highly praised AAA studio with a long history of troubled games who spurns and dismisses their fanbase every chance they get, then release another port of Skyrim.
My only bad experience with Etsy was when I ordered a Gorka and the country I ordered it from got invaded 2 days after the order and it got stuck there. Not the shops fault though.

To the sports team question it's just something for a city to rally behind as a group. It's not about a team caring about you back. It might be nonsensical but if you really break it down does everything you care about have to be super logical? I'd bet not. Some over the top sports fans make everyone look crazy but I assure you most of us just like to feel like they are a part of something that makes us happy. Just my perspective. I enjoyed the video.

Just cause a contract says something that does not make it law. An example is on every Phoenix Coyotes hockey ticket it says if you get injured by a puck in the game that the Coyotes are not responsible for your injury. They are legally responsible for the injury.
Funny you mention Space Marine, the game got a free update two months ago that gave all players the DLC for free since the game’s ten years old now. It could get a resurgence after the deal with White Dwarf that gave it out for free
