When having a bicycle shop back in the U.S. every once in awhile I'd receive a repair that was with a stuck seat post, so one day I decided to service the seat post and seat tube on every single repair, the cost of this work was adjusted into my servicing charges to the tune of $ 5.00, I'd pull the seat post out clean and lube then clean out the seat tube with an American made flex hone, I tried using the same spring loaded hone as you are using for myself it simply will not do the job as nicely as I would like. I'm now living in Holland and I'll l have a small shop over here and I'm performing this process over here as well.
No had this home made design drawn out in around 2005 but only few years back got round to making one. All the others I've seen are threaded rod versions
Great to see my Ritchey featured in your channel! 🙌
that's a nice machine you got there

Same here. My service includes seattube service. Gotta go the extra mile 👍
What are you using as collars on the seatpost?
Fully split steel Shaft clamps, just from a online machine shop
Why do the posts seize up so badly? Is it because the alloy post reacts with a steel frame or what?
Yes & also lack of anti seize grease.
Inspired by Phil Vandelay?
People already know about this d.i.y. tool from a long time ago. This thing is so handmade so shop rarely have this tool.

The Ritchey thumbnail is click bait. 😂 I thought it was a logic with a stick seatpost not a made in China On One.
Sorry about that.. Thumbnail was a bit of a afterthought. I'll try and find a Richey with a stuck post soon 😂😉
