Xander has just been a Terminator in these Majors. But he's become this, he's learned to control all of those emotions. I do believe that the only normal human that has been superhuman on the golf course is Jack. I'm pretty sure that to reach the levels that Tiger obviously, and others reach to win multiple Majors, don't allow the normal human feelings and emotions to be there; they control that. And how can you then just turn it on after the event is over? I've seen this where you expect all of this incredible depth on the winner's answers, and how hard they've worked, family etc...and it's there to a degree, but a lot of that has now been put in the back burner, because none of those thoughts can be there during the critical moments. The only exception to me is Jack, as he just seemed to not change as the years went, he always KNEW he could perform without any mental blinders etc..
Great points Todd but I will argue that Xander has won 2 majors on extremely difficult championship courses. Scottie has won on pga run of the mill courses and at aususta (which is a well known course to the pros) I think Xander wins poty this uear
@@wreckimyou’re right and memorial tournament too is a tough unique test. Idk I just think two majors is a big deal man, and he played us open way better that Scottie. I just like having two dominant guys out there, this year has gotten more interesting to me.
Scotties season edges out Xander by a very close margin, however, the distance between both of them and 3rd place is absolutely massive. Both of them had historic seasons.
In time history will prove you to be wrong. 2 majors will always age better than 1 major when looking back. A weakened players championship means nothing now.
Fantastic pod, as always. Todd great commentary last week at The Open. Lav thoughtful and provocative as usual.
excellent
Correction: Brooks is in the 5 Majors club and just won one last year. Why is he in this conversation?

The Players is not played on a run of the mill course. Get real. Although I agree that Xander's year is arguably as good or better than anyone's.

You should’ve asked Todd what he believes is the percentage of PGA tour players cheating on their wives, and which players they are.

I just want to know how we survived the weekend at a major without the sport’s greatest showman?!?!?

Bro are you ok? Your voice sounds very weak. I hope you’re ok
