Even though it's 'just' an old racing game, I strongly suggest watching the F-Zero GX players sometime. They take a game that is already fairly demanding and proceed to execute wildly unrealistic maneuvers all in the name of greater speed and shorter lap times.
@@DiehardMechWarrior in a vacuum, sure. In reality, some discoveries opened up new routing possibilities that makes the game more interesting to watch. Also every speedrun kinda goes back and forth between experimentation and optimization, once a new tech is found the race becomes optimizing a new route that can beat the previous records with the new tech, if it's even possible. It's 100% case by case and you can't make a blanket statement unless you just don't enjoy watching speedrunning. And if that is the case, we're thankful for your contribution to the algorithm
This might be an Akshonesports hall of fame video. Editing is top notch, the information is in depth and easy to follow and the jokes don’t stop. Great job on this one!
This has got to be a top 5 video from you all. I mean this editing is absolute flames. That intro alone was pretty creative. This will stack up views forever, so well done. Thank you!
The backwards long jump is also iconic because it’s so loud and wrong-sounding, it is satisfyingly transgressive and anyone that sees it, or hears that clipping audio will recognize it instantly.
l4d runners use space bar for bunnyhops due to the low tickrate in the game and 'backwards bunnyhopping' (actually called ABH) in half life 2 is exponentially faster every hop rather than the linear speed gain in most other games
More on the halo sword flying thing: Bungie went on to make Destiny and Destiny 2. Not long after the launch of destiny 2 they added a sword called worldline zero which makes the player teleport to enemies or just teleport a short distance after sprinting for a couple of seconds. If this was done off a ledge and combined with a jump it would send the player at a fast rate. This technique was patched out when the expansion Beyond Light came out, but players found a way to make it work with a new movement tech in the game called shatterdive. However 1 year later Bungie was celebrating the 30th anniversary of their studio and added weapons from Halo and other games they made. 2 of those weapons were swords (they are supposed to be the energy sword from halo split into 2) that got a special perk called "eager edge" and what this perk does is gives the sword extra lunge distance. Players quickly discovered that this combined with shatterdive (and a couple of other abilities) was just as good if not better than halo sword flying. This technique has completely changed speed running in destiny 2 without it speed runs would be very boring. This of course is a glitch but bungie left it in the game I assume to pay homage to halo. However we heard recently bungie wants to remove it. Anyways figured I would mention it as a formed destiny addict. Stopped playing recently when they laid off a bunch of employees a couple of weeks ago and then banned one of the most valuable people in the community. Bungie at its core is a great studio but they've been going downhill the past few years sadly and I got tired of it so I have quit playing.
I firmly believe that games released now are generally less enjoyable to older gamers because the only glitches you get in modern games are ones that negatively impact your experience (disconnects, crashes, etc). Whereas if you were to experience sword flying by accident, it would make you laugh from the surprise of it. It feels like the games have their character stripped of them when there isn't some weird quirk going on. I always point to Mario Kart as proof of this, 64/DS/Wii are all beloved titles that have a lot of glitches, whether through unintended shortcuts or unintended techniques (or both). DD is beloved because it's the best party mario kart title. But 7 and 8/8D are a bit boring, 7 had a few shortcuts that got patched, 8 had firehopping before it got patched out, it makes playing online frustrating because it makes every race a game of chance. You can optimize your line and take all the .5 second official shortcuts all you want but when the red shell/blue shell/red shell combo comes along it means nothing.
Small correction, Halo 2 anniversary DID NOT contain old techniques and abilities like the BXB, BXR, RRX, etc; the lack of these competitive combos is the reason why H2A died out so fast within the competitive scene. It was basically just Halo 4 without sprint and didn't feel anything like Halo 2 whatsoever. Please try to consult someone within the actual community before making claims like that in a video(you're literally showing H2A footage displaying how you CAN'T perform the combos in H2A).
Every game should have bunny hopping. Even if it doesn't make you faster, give us a button that makes going from point A to point B more interesting than just walking. Yes, even horror games
que pedo que pedo el glitch por excelencia de los speedruns fue descubierto por unos mexicanos y aparecio en club nintendo? by the way your accent telling spanish names is awfull, but is fine is not a complain
What is the most fun game to watch players speedrun?
The "Like A Dragon" series of games. Froob is one of the best to run that franchise.
Even though it's 'just' an old racing game, I strongly suggest watching the F-Zero GX players sometime. They take a game that is already fairly demanding and proceed to execute wildly unrealistic maneuvers all in the name of greater speed and shorter lap times.
Hitman 3 and Portal 1 and 2
None of them.
Why?
Because such techniques suck all the fun outta games. It stops being about experimenting and suddenly becomes about optimization.

The Backwards long jump turns Mario from a Plumber to a time travelling speed demon.
Don't forget the dimension hopper ability
homie really had fun with the editing for this video for sure. pretty different from their other content.
I was havin a ball
Putting a face to the voice is crazy , also holy shit dude your win in the genetic lottery is crazy

"I AM 4 PARALLEL UNIVERSES AHEAD OF YOU"
I love 343 for adding back the sword glitch 😂
This has got to be a top 5 video from you all. I mean this editing is absolute flames. That intro alone was pretty creative. This will stack up views forever, so well done. Thank you!

Abh is used a lot in portal too.
Love the live segments
I was half expecting to hear the intro to We're Finally Landing play at some point
This is a super well made video, super awesome to see your evolution since the early OWL days!
I don't care about Mario. But your funny narrative and flawless montage captivated me beyond belief.
I love you Akshon Esports, please don't die
4:14 THÉ À LA MENTHE????? Editor is real as FUCK
Cool vid ! love to see the channel grow into this sort of content 😊
speedrunners are a different breed of geniuses who exploit tf out a game just to have a heads up of milliseconds
Speedrunners and fighting game players are cut from the same cloth, the progression is with the player and not the game
LMFAO great video, love this new style

Some serious jumps in production quality. Good job
Thanks
Although not visually impressive like the SM64 techniques, mockball in Super Metroid is also very special. Also, the Tetris techniques.
The AVGN "Instant Win" modded controller
Feeding ya a comment and like for the upgraded editing. I know it ain't easy, but I hope it leads to growth
Another banger vid 🎉 i bet theres even more speedrunning techs that could be cool to cover
Thanks! We were trying some new things in this video and are glad you liked it.
I did not expect to see Club Nintendo Magazine credited in an English video! I miss them man, good times.
5:19 Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing says hi
Thanks for those detailed explanation ! Great video :)
Appreciate that you use the term "moves" instead of "tricks" or "skips" because I know it would've driven some people mad lol

I love your editing!
I'm here to stay.
Thank you so much!
Why am I a mop?

The image of Young Link rescuing adult Zelda looks like the best 90s movie ending ever
"Counter Strike even has it's own game mode based on..." So did Quake 3, DeFRaG is actually older than CS^^
Loved this video! Can we expect more in this atule?
6:08 and then Poopslinger34 got, this run
Spending more time finding glitches to finish the game faster than playing the game. Thank you heroes.

6:07 so.... they basically had eager edge in halo 2 as a bug and brought it back in destiny 2 as a feature 😄
When the video started with a BLJ reference, I knew I was in for a good time
Thanks for the vid
I didn’t farm Dares of eternity for days to get an eager edge sword for Destiny2 skating to not be in this video
I got to 3rd Bowser doing the trick when the game first came out I just tried different moves till it worked
Akshon Esports getting a green screen is hype as hell
💥Banger!
9:31 heh, that's what she said lmao
FUNNY VIDEO PLEASE KEEP DOING THESE!
I'm loving this new washed face format
Not starting this with the summing salt intro is a crime

Was sad not to see the hitman oartical boost or panic shot

Yes, even horror games
this video will hit 1M mark my word's.
What's the song that starts around 4:13? I remember it and want to find it again!
I am impressed. I wonder how many hours gamers spent to find out these amazing speed running hacks.
love me some akshon hahahaha sheeeeesh
You explained each technique so eloquently but still in a way that made it easy to understand! Thanks for another great vid
For 350k subs you should do a face reveal, but in reverse. please!
9:40 "unalive"....
I feel like just commentary was better but it is just my opinion still love your content
great video, i almost exclusively do and watch speedruns nowadays.

Oh the Backwards Long Jump is what they were referencing in Soundsmith's The Mann's Guide to The Big Earner
que pedo que pedo el glitch por excelencia de los speedruns fue descubierto por unos mexicanos y aparecio en club nintendo? by the way your accent telling spanish names is awfull, but is fine is not a complain
Impressive editing but too much fluff for my taste, really love the content and I don't think it needs all the meme energy
