Sheereen Bhan is a wonderful interviewer - pushy but not obnoxious.
Air India will have a wonderful future. A a part of the Tata group they will have access to TCS which works with all the top airlines of the world. So they have access to all their best practices. As anyone knows, software is the backbone of every scalable service business. Also they will have access to world-class analytics. Also imagine chauffeuring business and first class passengers in a Jaguar or Land Rover like Emirates and Virgin does!! After all the TATAs own JLR.
If Air India offers non-stop from EWR to BLR I’ll be first in line!! And I know of many who will switch from other Star Alliance carriers.

Fantastic and insightful interview. I look forward to AI being a major player in the Asian and global market. I live in Phuket and cannot wait for AI connecting us to Europe with a great product, smooth transit experience and Indian Charme.

Air India should fix its website and online services first. It looks and works like the one from 90s.

Suggestion for Mr. Wilson --- you should start the turnaround by making sure passengers are not peed upon. Otherwise any talk about fleet expansion, growth, brand equity, etc. just sounds hollow and hard to take seriously.

Whatever said and done.....How do you get rid of the smell inside the aircraft, be it new or old or whatever condition it may be in...Food that is served will be indian (majority of it), using the same microwaves and serving an average of 300 people on any aircraft and any route will make the food smell 300 times more...Indian cuisine tastes amazing but the smell sticks to the Upholstery, your clothes, your hair, pretty much..
So this would be interesting 😉

@@retroman5383 Sorry, but that's history and serves only as a consolation for our egos. Besides ruining India, Congress ruined many things including Air India. Let's hope the Tatas can revive their legacy.

    • @retroman5383

@@UMS9695 yep, back when JRD Tata was CEO Air India was among the best.
If only Morarji desai hadn't interfered, AI would've had better luck.
I agree with ruining the country part and I'm pro-privatization but I don't particularly blame Congress for AI because at that time aircrafts were getting extremely expensive and countries all around the world were nationalizing airlines and merging them so they would be able to afford planes -"because less competition and bigger market share thing" and we didn't know as much about cons of public companies and incentive issues among other things.

I loaded and unloaded cargo , baggage , from the air India B747 -400 at Heathrow with swissport GH from
2002 to 2004 . I then was ground handling it between 2010 to approx 2013 . With DNATA

Mr Wilson going to turn the airline
