Nice build, and I like the clever design of the adjustable riser assembly. Here are a few points to consider:
    1. It would have been easier to chamfer the ends of the log with the drawknife instead of with the axe.
    2. When debarking logs, as for the legs, you hit the knots at a more favorable angle if you work from the bottom of the tree toward the top.
    3. Widening the openings of the leg holes with a gouge (or even a knife) would result in tighter-fitting legs.
    4. I think you could have assembled the treadle structure more conveniently away from the horse and then slipped it on over the legs at the back end.
    5. You might want to round the part of the bench where you sit to make it more comfortable for your legs.
    6. Using a larger diameter log as the movable support of the riser would allow you to have the support nearer to the free end and give you a more stable clamping and work surface.

    自作というのは高さも長さも自分のサイズに合わせて出来るので大変重宝ですね。穴あけは難しそうですね。

👍👌👏 Very well done again and as always (video and work). I absolutely love that there is no talking. Just the sounds of nature and work. The only thing that massively distracts your wonderful meditational/meditative videos, are the look and noises from a chainsaw and power tools. Please kindly allow me to suggest, that you turn the volume down or cut them out while editing.
Thanks a lot for making teaching recording editing uploading and sharing.
    Best regards luck and health.

I liked your video. Open my eyes on several issues of why they say the legs need to be sprayed on other bench building videos.that i have watched. They were working with big box store lumber (flat on 4 sides) makes perfect sense now of you using the half round log bench. Has to do with geometer point of balance not just the fact of the 3 leg bench being more stable.

PS : ] notice at the conclusion of the build when you were demonstrate the use. There was a lot of spring g on the work piece. To help the spring cut you a couple different lengths chunks off the end of a log to put directly under the the vice.

To keep your tools sharp, such as ax - how do you sharpen? I was thinking as crafty and creative as you are you might have a sharpening stone (wheel) that you might pedal. I use a file and have recently discovered a round whetting stone to sharpen my hatchet. I am intrigued by the shaving horse. Appreciative of you sharing

This came out beautifully. What type of wood did you use? I was given two cedar logs I am going to use. I am still working on the corkscrew bit's restoration and sharpening. Hopefully, that will be done very soon. Love watching you create!

I noticed the comments are in Japanese and you appear to be japanese yourself.
If you don't mind me asking, in which country did you film this? The birds sound like its japan, but then again, i could be entirely wrong.
The topography looks like it's Japan as well, but there really isn't enough displayed in the video for me to realistically say that lol

Pretty pictures, but I have no idea what you're doing. You spend countless video time on mundane actions but ignore the important details of the piece. Is this instructional or artsy?

A lot of time wasting ...at least the first 6 minutes, which was enough for me.
