Those little breaks where you stop to explain your thoughts about the situation are super informative. It’s a little like being there with you as you work it out. Nice job!
I know someone who can carry a miniature donkey but you're the first to carry a horse. And what a lovely horse it is! It's really cool to see the process of how you figured out all the different parts. And it all folds up! Magic.
It's like that old adage: You can carry a horse to water, but you're gonna need to help it shave. Excellent design Brett, that really came out great! :)
This type of workbench has been very popular lately. Or at least I keep seeing videos for these types of workbenches. This is by far the coolest one that I have seen! Awesome!
Damn Brett you’ve done it again! Jimmy taught you well and you listened just as well because you’re figuring out of mechanisms is pretty damn clever. I’ve often thought about building a horse but never thought of a portable one like this...impressive.
I used to comment on how your videos kept raising the bar each time they came out. Now you've got a new bar! I really like the "old style," but I really like your new style as well. Solid project, solid video, and solid editing in my opinion. I like where this is going!
Argh! Captain, the evolution of your format and edits are amazing! I love the new format and your builds are evolving in such an incredible way! You are literally one of the few makers out there who is carrying a narrative in a way that is just as good standalone, as it is part of your longer story. Keep on sailing and god speed!
Great looking horse. Perfect background music. While I don’t think I will ever need a shave horse, everything you did to build it are useful skills. Inventive use of HD buckets.
Great job, Brett. I love how different people create different shaving horses depending on their individual needs. I’m working on one too. With any luck, there’ll be a video of its creation.
This is all good and well, you are a talented and ingenious man but I came here for the pirate in you and that "savy" made my day. I'd like more of those please. :)
That's one good looking horse there Captn' Excellent work sir. I will definitely have to watch this one a time or two more to ... ahem... "borrow" a few ideas.
This morning I saw a man set his horse on fire, octagonalize it's jaw, fold it into a flat plank, and then carry it away with one hand. The Internet's a crazy place, just crazy I tell ya.
@@skullandspade Put a huge smile on my face when you said that in the video and the actual encore was wonderful. Really enjoying this balance of narrated thought process and build video.
Fantastic all around. Digging the thought processes as you go. I might not plan on building that exact same horse but walking us through is going to pay off to each and every one of us as we build. 💪🏼🐞🔥🖤
When the day comes to bring the horse to the slaughterhouse, this makes it all that easier... Great vid and good format Brett. Fun to see you winging it and pull through with no sweats.
The last comment made me literally lol. 😁 Loved the "savy" and "do it live" asides, and it wouldn't be a S&S build without the charred finish! Must be interesting to go from Jimmy's "Tool Mecca" to Ben's "I build with 3 tools on the floor" style... Love to hear you discuss that on a podcast sometime.
Dame, you out did yourself!!!!!what a fantastic job with a full functional, beautiful, and totally neat shave horse. BRAVO. One question: when can I get a set of plans from you???? Thanks so much for your creative video.
Hey Brett. Ross Karasiewicz here. I'm a residential builder, blacksmith, honey bee rescue and a small engine service and repair professional. I own four business'. I know quality when I see it. I also see potential for improvement. I noticed you had a slight problem keeping your workpiece solid while shaving. It's a simple fix. Your clamping surface is directly on top of each other. If you move the moving portion (top) back about three inches, it will hold your workpiece more solid and give you additional room to shave. Take care my friend and keep up the good work.
I really would like one; however, my homeowners association has a zero tolerance for horses. We’re still in litigation over my saw horses.... Nice job there Captain. Kinda like making your own sandwich. It has the basics like meat and bread, but condiments, toppings and how you cut it makes it your own.
Fantastic job!! love when you stop and say what your next step is, it really explains a lot about why your doing what your doing. 'WE'LL DO IT LIVE!' LMAO😂😂😂.
How are ya now? Nice build fella. Good lessons here about building in the moment without too many premade plans or drawings to make life harder. P.S. Wee ones are asking where Skully is...
Brett McAfee yeah!! This week I start my first forge. I really want start in blacksmith seriusly! Make my own iron tools, knifes, everything jajajaja! 🔥🔥🙌🏼😃
I think this is part of the fool for series because it was built in space 🤣 very cool design. I want to make a shave horse this summer, i like the idea of one that folds away! 👍
Ok so mu 1st thoughts as the commercials played was. Kuul hes going to be repurposing a fence row push down cedar tree. Oh that's gonna be alot of work. Then I saw the lumber stack. Much easier that way lol...and way lighter...cuz nobody wants to carry an overweight horse 😆😂🤣 Loved the build Capt. 🙏blessed days sirSir and much positive energy Crawford out 🧙♂️

Well then, mission accomplished
I know someone who can carry a miniature donkey but you're the first to carry a horse. And what a lovely horse it is! It's really cool to see the process of how you figured out all the different parts. And it all folds up! Magic.
It’s always a gamble building as we go along, but that’s the challenge ; )
It's like that old adage: You can carry a horse to water, but you're gonna need to help it shave. Excellent design Brett, that really came out great! :)
Thank you brother. Hope all is well
Even if I have no interest in the project, I still watch your videos - always well done and I still learn something each time. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching
Now that is something else 😮 I'm gonna have to watch that again without kids shouting is that the pirate 🤣
Hahahah
Actually this is one of the best most innovative builds I've seen on TH-cam.. Love how you problem solve on the fly.. Bloody good job brett
Wow! Thank you Jigsey!
That's one good looking horse! It's nice how you stop and explain different things and share your thought process
Thank you sir!
Now that is a clever solution. Never seen one that can fold up and be carried like that. Thanks for sharing!
Thank YOU Seth!
Beautiful results! The quick commentary on the tricky parts is really helpful to follow along in the real-time problem solving.
Thank you sir. Building on the fly!
This type of workbench has been very popular lately. Or at least I keep seeing videos for these types of workbenches. This is by far the coolest one that I have seen! Awesome!
We always try to up the game a level or two
@@skullandspade Level up! Skill points acquired.
I liked your old stuff, but I am enjoying your new format immensely. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Arieh. We’re a bit out of sorts without the ship shop, but working on that
Damn Brett you’ve done it again! Jimmy taught you well and you listened just as well because you’re figuring out of mechanisms is pretty damn clever. I’ve often thought about building a horse but never thought of a portable one like this...impressive.
Well thank you Doug!
There were several steps where I just could not see how it was going to work, and then when it did my brain broke a little. Loved every second of it.
Well good
Even after I saw you pick it up I had to watch you do it again to believe it! Well done sir!
I assure you it works...but she’s definitely got some gravity
Uh...plans please! Awesome Job Brett...gotta watch it a few more times to get all the info. Need to make one of these!
I’ll see what I can do about that
@techedfireman Great idea Nick! I’ll second that. This would be a good one for selling plans.
Ingenious idea. Very well and beautifully executed.
Thank you Gayle!
Brett McAfee you’re most welcome. I love watching your videos. Your mind is so on point with things. I wish mine worked that way.
Brilliant as usual. The O'Reilly reference was great.
Great job, love the contrast between the finished and the burned wood. And it truly was like magic when you folded it up!
Well thank you sir!
How did you call it? Can't be in the desert riding a horse with no name. It never ends well.
Skully or iJessup could name it. They have always great ideas
It'll feel good to be out of the rain.
Couldn’t have said it better myself...
You’re very right Red. RDR2 flashbacks...
Nice work! I really love the burned wood; it gives the piece a lot of character.
Aye. Big fan of the oiled/burned look
Excellent engineering brother!
THAT, my friend, will serve you well.
I do believe it will
You actually did it. The absolute madman. A great improvement over the plywood one.
Well thank you!
Perfect, I'm really enjoying the talky parts, brief but informative!
Thank you sir!

We will be finding a middle ground once we get a new shop space sorted out
@@skullandspade I'm looking forward to seeing it!
I was sold at the "we'll do it live" quote. Someone must be a Stern fan!
Lol
Yay!!! Brett video! Very clever and dig the "out loud" thought process.
Thank you brother. Miss your musk.
"We'll do it live!" Had to think about that for a second and then it hit me.....like a fruit train. Now I remember when I heard that. Brilliant

I enjoy seeing the different approaches as well. Shows the makers personal style
That is some Grade A problem solving. I love the asides explaining your thought process.
Thank you sir!
That's sick! More BRETT McAFEE!!!
Will do!
Nice and beefy, love the new editing. THANK YOU !
Thank YOU
Cool! Would have liked to see it in use holding a couple of different sized things, but I did enjoy the build.
We will see to that shortly
@@skullandspade I shoulda been able to figure that out... derp!
