Again, let me add a comment that I made after the release of this amazing camera. My friend has a car. He cannot go off-road. It is very noisy. The consumption is too high. It is difficult to park his car in narrow places. All in all, he loves his Ferrari. Looking at some comments it looks like this new camera release is the worst in the history of photography. Panasonic is aiming for a specific niche and they are providing a FF sensor in a very compact size with interesting features like the zooming or the LUTs. For people who hate post processing, for people who want a compact camera, for people who love THE best stabilization in the market, for people who don’t want to talk for half hour saying nothing…looks like there is a market for this camera. I really appreciate the transparency on how they communicated the recoding times which is way different to other manufacturers who are really good in autofocus but at the price of holding their hot bodies in your hand. Hope they can bring a similar idea to MFT as it will be easy to implement most of these ”needs”.

I to hope they can bring a similar idea to the MFT but then again after seeing what the GH7 can do , I’m very impressed and wouldn’t mind using it as it is . What’s your thoughts on the GH7 ?

As someone with an S5 II X, I fully agree with your position. I almost _never_ record more than 10 minutes at a time anyway. The S9 would cover 90% of my use-cases, and the limitations preventing the other 10% could easily be worked around.

For 1080 yea, but my guess is this thing has abysmal cooling and is depending on being a shortform workhouse. I'll be honest I could care less this thing is straight up just a repackaged S5ii, except garbage.
It's garbage, any one who disagrees just try taking a portrait photo indoors with no hotshoe to mount a flash. And try looking at your subject on the screen outdoors in bright sunlight. Now go and justify the rediculous price tag.

I don’t agree. For me that’s no points. I’m a amateur photographer since more than 50 years. My photos are in available light, I don’t use flashlight. My first digital cameras don’t have an evf and my Ricoh GRx either. The majority of my photos were not taken in bright light! Even with my Leica Q3 I’m using the screen most of the time.

@@Kashilembo Yes indeed! my Leica is a very good cam for taking photos, but not so good for taking videos. She can 8K, but hasn’t a good stabi and you can’t use an external mic. So this must be a bad cam! The Af isn’t good for action and the speed isn’t the best. But landscape-, city- or even portrait-photos are awesome!

Maybe I don’t understand the word professional. ? You can use the S9 and shoot a groom or bride getting ready and mix with other cameras. I’m missing something?

Now that’s a great point. But most people don’t mind wide framing for slow motion to fit their aspects ratio deliberately requirement. Because it’s hard to give you the full sensor readout in 60fps don’t you think ?
Folks buy cameras with far less features and which cost much more yet call those cameras, a professional tool. Yet they somehow have a Blank to Grind with the S9.
I purchased the Sony a7sii and honestly it wasn’t even that good and had way less features but I rocked it and now thinking back , i would have loved to have the S9 instead.

@@Kashilembo I would pick a super35 sensor that can output 4:4:4 over a 6k open gate at 4:2:0 anytime. But yes the Lumix can do 4:2:2 but then you lose the open gate feature.

I'm glad I saw this comment because I agree. Without an evf or a rangefinder unfortunately the camera is completely useless to me although it is very interesting and cool. Yes, mostly macro. However, when I am doing serious macro I use a 10 inch monitor or sometimes a 7

This video is 15 minutes long, so footage can be about an hour, so Kashilembo would need to restart it 6 times if he used S9 for the recording.
