Indeed, as most comments attest, yours is truly amazing work... Most people bitch about how expensive the paintjobs are, but they fail to account the artistry that work like this takes, time that art takes to develop and learn, the work in preparation, the sniffin' of glue(paint thinner) that you go through and the finesse that the final result requires... Also, a nice idea as to how to rotate the piece you are working on... Thank you for sharing this artful demonstration with us peasants among which but a few can paint a wall in a single color with a roller... This is quite an inspiration for us who are inclined towards this kind of work! All the best my dear brother from across the planet...

Absolutely lovely work Toshiro! May I ask ask a couple of questions:
How long should you wait before you spray on each stage (base coat to silver, clear coat, wet sand, candy, wet sand, final clear coat).
What grade paper should you use when you wet sand between each stage?
I 'm going to attempt something similar (but a bit simpler!) on my tank so the less mistakes I make the better!
    Thanks!

Toshio, this is the Best tutorial I've seen on how to do a custom paint job, and your workmanship and finished product is as fine as anything I've ever seen.
I painted at Anaheim's Disneyland for over a decade until my throat was damaged from the Isocyantes in the paints we used in our spray applications; i was fortunate to have caught it in time because without the proper mask, a fresh air-supplied respirator, you can develop throat cancer which can do its magic on you in four or six months, and I noticed you use a dual charcoal filter 3M style paint mask - which does nothing to protect you from Isocyantes since they are sub-microscopic and go through the filters like they aren't even there.
You are extremely talented and I hope you take some time to find out about the danger of not having the proper mask, and your paint supplier should be able to bring you up to speed on this subject, but if not contact me because I also taught how to use these coatings when I worked at Stits Aircraft Coatings for six years before I went to Disney.
Once again, Best video I've seen on how to properly paint something which could be right at home on a mantle in your man-cave or on your motorcycle.
Thank you for taking the time to share.

Toshio, you did a fantastic job and demonstrated why patience is so important. Many layers of paint and clearcoat, sanding.
QUESTION #1: After you put the clear wrap over the silver to create the wrinkled/marbled effect, how long do you wait before removing it? Immediately, after a few minutes but before the silver dries, or wait for the silver to dry?
QUESTION #2: What brand of paint and other products are you using and what are your mix measurements of all the different layers.
Thanks again for sharing your tremendous skill. I look forward to your answers.

I was so hyped trying this on my motorbike. But as only a starting amateur i've tried it first on my bicycle...
With some finetuning it's much fun!
I'd advise to try alluminium foil too; it's easier to crease in advance. Give's a nice effect. Only be carefull to tore it quickly.
Still learning, but fun to do! Thanks Toshio Matsuzawa

He put like 30 coats of paint on it lol and if he used a good clear coat which im sure he did then gas shouldn't do anything unless you let it sit on the paint

+Alex Bailly I believe it is just sulphuric acid.

+Alex Bailly Any Acetone based paint solvent will do. A very weak solution is used in nail polish removers. Don't use acid- it corrodes metal........
