Mar del Plata is the 6th biggest Argentine city (with a population of 750.000 approx.) and is the main beach city, one of the main touristic places of the country, receives like 3 million tourists during january and february (that is holiday time for most Argentines) but almost exclusively local, there is not much international tourism there like there is in Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls or some places in the Patagonia.

Ace: we put herbs inside the mate, hot not boiled water, some drink with sugar and some don't. Serve and drink. It's energizing, it wakes you up. Is better to drink with people and we use it to socialize And it is called mate not mote. If you say mote they could think you are talking about drogs (marihuana, mota or some like that)

Ace, check out Monserrat for St. Patrick's day plus there are volcanoes. Fly into Antigua then take a ferry of fly to the island of Monserrat. Great history. Get a few days of relaxation.
Yerba maté can be enjoyed with a little sugar, stevia, orange/lemon rind, peppermint, etc. Any narcotics in the tea would be ill-advised, as they'd ruin the taste - though these days, some folks will try anything. Keep the walks coming!
