great review, I really like this game. Got addicted to playing it on Vita. Its really damn hard tho, I have not been able to complete it. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the sequel
I plan on reviewing the sequel sometime maybe next year, but to give the summary on my complaints. It's not as good, still a great game, but it's a little more rng focused, I had a lot of issues with the ghost pot, and the drill on the fire level. Music is a huge downgrade, went from really unique and catchy to just serviceable. Cosmic Ocean was a bad idea, the whole reason the first game was so repayable was because you could possibly beat it in a half hour, but if you wanna get the true ending in Spelunky 2, you have to plow through 99 levels, just wasn't thought out well. In general the game is much longer too, so its not as easy to just sit down for a quick session. It does a lot right though which I will talk about when I review it.
