It's one of those games that gets overlooked because of AVGN, but it's really a gem! And yeah the music is really catchy and fits the mood! Thanks for watchin dude!

Pretty much nothing redeemable about this one! Hey I'd watch you play this just to see your reaction to randomly clipping through the floor, LOL.

My personal vision for the 1-10 scale makes this a pretty bad game but not completely insufferable! 1/10s or lower are games that don't work or completely unplayable, like a game that just blue screens your computer for example. 2/10s are functional but have no entertainment value or just nothing to them at all, something like taboo the sixth sense or desert bus. 3/10s are almost 100% garbage but have some substance and can at least possibly entertain someone, maybe laughing at it for example, haha. 4/10s are bad games but aren't absolutely miserable to play. Terminator was bad and extremely disappointing but it wasn't a complete frustration fest like ALF, and was relatively short and manageable. Just very poorly programmed and boring! That's how I scale bad games

Batman Forever was almost my first SNES way back in the day. Thank God that didn't happen! I probably would've dropped video games entirely and done wood workings as a hobby, LOL

@@chid255 I know many people who saw the movie and the commercial for the game and got hyped and ran to the store after work to buy it new for full retail price when it first dropped. Needless to say but there were many fits of rage back then

Now the only people who buy it are those confusing it with Batman Returns haha. Or maybe people like me who like to occasionally torture themselves with bad games!

Oh yeah Bloodstained is a really good game! Not quite SOTN level for me, but that's probably just because of nostalgia! I would love to chat with ya too! @samwhary5498 Bloodstained objectively is a more balanced game. It doesn't get super easy like SOTN does. But for me a lot of the fun of SOTN is how customizable the game can be in difficulty, just by limiting what you have access to. It can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be, which is pretty unique for a metroidvania.

@@chid255 fair point. Both also have excellent music. Lots of fun environments and traversal mechanics.. I enjoy the martial arts and magic systems in bloodstained. Though in fairness I've not explored SotN's in depth. I only know I'm terrible at the combos in SotN. XD

I've heard that name before! He worked on Ys? That's awesome, no wonder the intro for Ys II was so cool haha!

@@chid255 He worked at Falcom for about 5 years. During that time he did the intro of other games, but that was at the end of his time on the company.

You can, but it won't doo much as he'll quickly turn around to attack or run away. If you actually jump into him and start punching, you'll be immune to contact damage. His lightning attack will miss too, so you get free shots until he runs away and tries to shoot his gun again.

I'd like Gaiares a lot more if the levels were either shorter, or had more checkpoints. Too tedious to go back what feels like 10 minutes just for one mistake! I always considered Ghouls n Ghosts to be the easiest, at least if we're talking the Genesis version. Spelunky is awesome, you definitely gotta check it out! Exactly! It's already a fight for your life just to get that far, then one mistake and boom, gotta do all that again! At least in like Gradius you have quite a few checkpoints, and the levels are short. Gaiares has super long levels and only one checkpoint, so frustrating!

The Genesis had some tough games for sure! Mostly because they almost always had limited continues, which wasn't quite as common on other consoles.

There really is nothing like it, putting in all those hours, having to restart over and over again just to get a little further, finally seeing the ending is euphoric! Mars Matrix is one I'd love to beat one day, but it feels so much out of my league haha. I can't fathom how people are able to not die at least twice per minute!

The PSP was such a powerhouse! Falcom really did a great job cramming so much on a little UMD.

@@chid255 I'm glad that you enjoy them as well 😊 Honestly, Falcom as a company deserves more recognition in my opinion. I am also a huge fan of the Trails games, as well as Tokyo Xanadu, as it has gameplay similar to Ys. (So you would maybe like that one,not quite sure 😅😂) My brother showed me Oath In Felghana some 15 years ago,and the moment I finished it, I started looking for the rest of the games 😁 Now waiting for the Ys X 😁

Trails is on my radar, I'll definitely be checking out that series after Ys! Tokyo Xanadu I've heard of before but never saw gameplay of, I'll look into it! Oath is such a great game, I'll be covering that one in the summer for sure. I'm planning on ending the marathon with Ys X, it's actually the only new game I've ever pre-ordered, I'm 100% sure it's gonna kick ass!

@@chid255 Trails is sure a whirlwind and I know that it is not for everybody 😂 Although I love it dearly, flaws and all. People usually say Tokyo Xanadu is a mix of Ys and Persona (considering the social aspect of the game). And yes, I cherish Oath to this day,it was my gateway into the series, and it holds up to this day. It is up there with Ys VIII for me 😁 So can't wait for the review on it 😁 And yeah, as X goes, I think it's going to be phenomenal. I am ready to have my mind blown 😁
