The constant cycle of revenge and consequences is central to the series. As are rules and obligations and the struggle to escape those rules and meet the obligations one cares for. John owes her for her Father’s friendship and loyalty even if it costs him his new freedom. Plus the constant shake ups mean the Table is now weak and the Rules and Obligations that held the Underworld together for centuries are soon to be shattered irrevocably. Leading to a time of uncertainty and chaos that will cause mire damage all because of a girl’s quest to get revenge for her Father and a Man’s struggle to meet his obligations to that friend’s memory. It’s going to be great when it comes out lol.
