If you had to introduce someone to TRY, this would be a great video to do it with. It has almost everything to make for good fun: 4 enthusiasts and 2 realists owning their preferences, excellent critiques, odd noises and faces, enthusiasm, violence, Irish lessons and an edit sharp enough to shave a cueball. Oh and booze. Just top notch everyone - slainte!
Kept going back to listen to them so that I can try my hand at them myself. At least over here in the states, odds are very high that when I do get them completely wrong, no one else will know. That or I'll have found fellow Try viewers!
Lolsy, you are a tresure and no one that watches these videos thinks you are anything less than wonderful, you bring joy and laughter to our lives and for that i salute you good lady!
Pussypussypussy 😁 Kidding, of course. I can't drink Jack either. For me, it gives me the worst heartburn. And your song was hilarious. I'm so impressed that you came up with the lyrics on the fly.🤣
My favorite part of the vid at 5:16 is Lolsy singing the "Jack Daniel's Mash" to The Monster Mash...pretty clever (but I'm surely biased 😆) I actually laughed out loud! Darren and Ciara were their usual selves; prim and proper (or as they said, bold and spicy.)
@erikjgreen comedians (the good ones anyway) are intelligent and fairly good at improvisation so gotta be able to think quickly which is what I love and respect about them.
I think Darren and Ciara are perfect together for these alcohol videos 🖤 Darren articulates what Ciara is thinking and gives her an outlet for her violence 😂 and Ciara can match his appreciation and enthusiasm for whiskey. Also "asbestos mouth" perfectly describes Ciara 🤣🤣👌 I really loved TRY's rendition of the Monster Mash as well 😂😍 Lolsy nailed it!
I'm curious, but Lolsy's facial expressions look like someone trying hard with sincerity to convince an unwitting cat that the cat food that they're about to get is really really good for them...
Laura & Lolsy were definitely my favorites in this video. Every sip caused a serious short circuit in their nervous systems. lol Head tilt, right eye malfunction, just hysterical.
POINT OF CLARIFICATION: If someone grows up speaking English, but not Gaelic, ENGLISH IS *THEIR* native language. PLease try not to be so massively disrespectful. National Language yes, "native" language - 100 relevant to the person themselves.
I myself am poking around with Scots Gaelic, which is tricky to say the least, but both Irish and Scottish celtic languages are rife with unnecessary silent letters LOL
I believe Irish folk speak English & few can actually speak/read/write/understand Irish. There's more non-Irish trying to learn Irish than there are actual Irish who can speak it.

Lolsy - you're not a p*ssy or a simpleton - you're brave for continuing to show up! And your input is valuable - it's just on the opposite scale on whiskey shoots - how much less bad is it instead of how good.is it. And you're funny.
Yes Ciara and Darren are the dream team and Laura and Lolsy are the "Why the heck are we here couple" but Sean and Eadain work well together. Thanks all for a great shoot.
1:27 Love Jack Daniels old/standard and I also get the banana taste. Maybe that is why it to me It's more like a very good brandy?, not whisky, but I do love it (as I do love scottish peated/smoky whiskys, a complete different thing,- I guess I associate the peat taste with whisky. Can anyone recommend good peated Irish whiskys, never tried those but I've heard it mentioned several times on this channel?).

Scotch is the only kind of whiskey I've seen plenty of purists who insist to drink it the correct way. I personally drink Scotch neat but if you consider that wrong I don't care.
I've actually picked up a couple loads at jd's main distillery and that place is really impressive. One load they didn't have ready and said it would be a couple hours and asked if I wanted a tour while I waited. I, being a whiskey and history of alcohol in the US, went on the tour. Was a moment I'll never forget. You feel the history just being there
If you ever get a chance to visit Lynchburg TN, do it. FYI: Moore Co. is "dry" which means you cannot purchase JD at the distillary. Commentative editions being the exception. Get some Tennesse Honey. Its the shit.

Ciara slapping Darren is my favorite. Oh man. He's like, *points to face* "slap me" and she just DOES. I had to watch that one again because I wasn't ready! LOL
@SwapBlogRU When I was growing up, my depression-era parents only had Canadian Whisky in the house. Jack Daniel's was definitely my first American Whiskey.
Ha ha ha ha. So true. My first! I’ve been a member of the Tennessee Squire Association since the 80’s. If you not been to Lynchburg it’s quite touristy but it’s the kind of Americana I seek out. The staff are absolutely awesome. When they found out I was a “Squire” they took me on a private tour and introduced me to “Gentleman Jack” which was just about to be released a number of years ago.
being of Irish descent but never having learned a single word of Gaelic (grew up French Canadian) I'll have to memorize that toast as it's a pretty good one ....
Eadaoin, I've taken the tour at the distillery, and it is a great tour. Ironically though, Moore County, where Lynchburg and the distillery is, is dry. That means you can't get any of JD's products nor can you get a drink of whiskey there.
8:20 - Yes, find a way to get the gang out to Lynchburg, TN! The tour is honestly fascinating. After the tour, go to the gift shop down the road and get some "tipsy cake." ❤
Love your videos. You all should consider coming to America and doing the KY Bourbon Trail. OMG... Makers, Bulleit, Michters, Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam, Woodford, Wild Turkey, Four Roses, Evan Williams, etc. All within 100mi of each other. Maybe even an Irish Whiskey trail visit at home. Does anybody remember field trips? TRY field trips, Hell ya.
What makes a great Tennessee whiskey is the Tennessee water , it’s a limestone water , it also makes a great Moonshine too . There’s no water like it in the world & it usually runs along the Appalachian mountain range from Maine to Georgia in the continental U.S. .
JD is definitely one of my favs. It has a very distinct flavor, and if you were to compare it to a person - he's not necessarily some high-brow intellectual that you can have some sort of profound and deep conversation with, but he's always just sort of nice and fun to be around.
JD is the blackout at a college party. Distinguished enough to try but doesn’t make the cut. I’m interested in these new flavors though. Just not the og.
@@thatfishingguy11b for me it also used to be the sort of whiskey that I'd be in the mood for once every 6-12 months. But since sanctions were imposed onto my country (yes, I'm from that country) - JD became a bit difficult to come by. It's a case of the forbidden fruit becoming sweeter.
If Éadaoin & Seán really like the square bottle, they’d absolutely love the square shot glasses. The JD tour in Lynchburg is pretty amazing. The day we were there, they were burning the sugar maple to make the charcoal for filtering the whiskey. It’s an amazing place pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There were wild turkeys roaming around the grounds, though you could tell they were very used to humans being near them. It’s well worth the visit. Ohh, and Éadaoin can speak as gaeilge as much as she likes. Love hearing it, though I only recognize a word here and there. Go raibh maith agat.
At this point, after the recent horrifically fascist legislative actions in Tennessee, I will actively discourage anyone and everyone from buying ANYTHING produced in that state. For those of us in the American south.. we know this bourbon fella as Uncle Jack. Ah ha! finally the whiskey pairing we've been asking for! Ciara and Darren .. together.. with bourbon. There could have been 10 more varieties and no viewers would be lost. Can we have these two with tequila next?
Can we please retire this old saw... Jack Daniels is, in fact, bourbon. They don't WANT any one to call it that, since calling it a "Tennessee Whiskey" makes it distinctive, but that isn't an actual classification. They were simply given an exemption to not have to put the words "bourbon" on the bottle. Same is true with Dickel and Chattanooga whiskey, for that matter.

Lolsy’s facial expressions (tics?) always crack me up. Bless her, she tries to change her expression when she doesn’t like something but it’s quintessential Lolsy❤❤
I have been drinking JD for over 40 years and have tried many whiskies from here in the USA and around the world because I have traveled all around this world, I wish I had went to Ireland but the closet I got was France. stayed in Germany for about a year back in the late 1970's I was a military brat but got to try many Irish whiskies and even a few from other countries like Japan and Some home made from Australia, but sorry my dear friends JD/ Jack Daniels is the best sipping whiskey to me, three cubes of ice in a 3 shot glass by a campfire or just hanging with friends.
To the two who dislike whiskey it's fine. It's not for everyone. But JD has a cult following in the states. I have a bottle of triple mash in my cabinet
Loving the juxtaposition of Darren+Ciara and Seán+Éadaoin on the one hand and Laura+Lolsy on the other... Brilliant. Also I love hearing Éadaoin speaking Irish! I've been slowwwwly trying to learn over the years (at an absolutely glacial pace) and I can only dream of being fluent as she is. 😍
@Tammy when I went on the tour, they walked you over the Creek Bridge to the tasting room, and you could buy it there. But when you cross the creek bridge, you entered another county.
I LOVE that Darren and Ciara are paired together for a whiskey tasting! It’s perfection!
Having these 2 whiskey connoisseurs together for a whiskey TRY was inspired.

The BEST Whiskey is the Whisky you like to drink the WAY you like to drink it. There are no wrong opinions.
Lolsy’s facial expressions (tics?) always crack me up. Bless her, she tries to change her expression when she doesn’t like something but it’s quintessential Lolsy❤❤
My favorite is the Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select Barrel Proof (Gold label). It's just heavenly.
Yay!!!!! ❤🎉 Nothing like a wonderful whisky 🥃 video on a Monday.
Yeah,..I feel like getting plastered too……🤣🤣
I'd rather see them on a Friday to get some good weekend suggestions. Unless it involves Durian "fruit" in any way, shape, or form!
Love that the music stops playing when you cut to the “I really don’t like this ” faces from Laura ond Lolsy! Delightful editing!
And go home and have a load of cans I did!
Yes! Queen!
you earned each and every one of them!
Lolsy is hilarious with the faces she makes.
Lolsy, we love you. Never change. If everyone had the same tolerance for whiskey, these shoots would be less than half the fun to watch.
I want to drink whisk(e)y with Lolsy, just to record her expressions and impromptu drunk songs. (The Jack Daniel's Mash was comic genius.)
Lolsy with the "Monster Mash" and 🐱🐱🐱🐱 I'm in tears! 🤣🤣🤣
I've always wondered who gets the bottles when there done ?!
I'd imagine they stay in the studio for use in future shoots. Or they're utilized behind the scenes.
As a Tennessee boy it makes me happy to learn that the Irish enjoy it as much as we do.
Everyone has a tolerance level. Some high, some low! No worries girls ❤
To the two who dislike whiskey it's fine. It's not for everyone. But JD has a cult following in the states. I have a bottle of triple mash in my cabinet
A tour of Jack Daniels will get you a lemonade because it is a dry county.
so rude, right.. that they would do that where it's made. smh
@@HealthyDisrespectforAuthority Look at all the money the Company saves by not giving it away!
We got a bottle of the spring water.
Samples on the tasting tour and you can buy at the gift shop.
Laura and Lolsy combo are always the best 😂
Eadoin's toasts were worth the whole shoot
The slap... the SLAP! LOL I also loved "go back to the bog, creature!" We love all our try-ers!! No shade.
Me: How was the tasting today, Darren?
Darren: It really slapped.
Ironically jack is made in a dry County meaning you can't buy or drink in said county
They don't have much of a sense of humor about it either.. asking to buy just the bottle but rent the bourbon doesn't even get a smile.
Yeah, our hs senior trip was Gatlinburg, but they put us in Pigeon Forge, for that reason. BEFORE Dollywood existed
Dry county, yes...but you can buy it at the distillery.
@Tammy when I went on the tour, they walked you over the Creek Bridge to the tasting room, and you could buy it there. But when you cross the creek bridge, you entered another county.
@@Tammy-bj3yx I can't imagine why they would do tours otherwise
Oh my....Eadaoin has such a lovely singing voice. That caught me completely off guard. A pleasant surprise.
