Ancient Gears is an archetype that I've complained about for so long and it's almost criminal how Konami refuses to push the archetype to keep up with everyone else. I keep saying that Ancient Gear Gadget is the best thing the deck has gotten because it bypasses the need for cluttering your deck with gadgets while it being searchable and making all those tribute ancient gear effects at least "playable" in archetype. The ancient gears need to take inspiration from newer fusion archetypes. An ancient gear that can special summon itself, an ancient gear that can search names, one that has an extra normal summon for ancient gears, ancient gear spells/monsters that recycle into deck or an in archetype overload/miracle fusion so it's searchable with wyvern. One of the biggest weakness the deck has is the amount of cards you have to commit to for an otk. And if you don't success and your opponent has 100 LP left and any one card starter, you just lose. Please Konami, Ancient Gears need recovery options so it doesn't feel like I spend two hands worth of cards just to summon Chaos Giant.
Cyber Dragons and Ancient Gears are the most based archetypes. No beautiful anime sorcerer or warrior cringe shit, just raw and brutal machines beating the fuck out of the opponent
I play Aussa the Earth Channeler along with two Ancient Gear Box for a bit of consistency, allows you to dump an Earth/Ancient Gear monster which enables Regulus, Magical Hound and Bullet Train gets a Gear in grave fro Overload Fusion.
compared to other decks Ancient Gear is underrated as hell, the only issue is the major bricking issue that comes up in several games. In the instances where the combo is pulled off you get good stuff sure, but that bricking issue and having to run so many high levels is a death sentence in many games. Also sort of shocked they haven't gotten support in a while seeing as how they're a fan favorite. Hope they get support soon that gives them a lot more consistency, easy access to spells/traps and maybe overload fusion, and possibly a new link/fusion.
They definitely need it. The restrictions it has just make no sense for the current format. The golem not being able to be special summoned, not being able to set spell/traps after using wyvern's effect, not being able to activate catapult if you control monster(s), the box is basically a brick in your hand if you get it by draw.
I love ancient gears as it is my main deck but I wish konami gave it the love it deserves. Like new supports, ways to summon from deck like most decks do these days and protection since one or two negates which every deck will have is a game ender. What I personally really want it a summon animation for chaos ancient gear giant. It is the boss monster with one of the highest atk out there but yet no animation, cards which not even half that get animations.
Ancient gears are strong though. It was weird hearing Sean(Crowlers voice actor) use that archetype in the GX and in 5Ds when yusei dueled the guy who almost expelled Leo and his class. Sean does a good job though.
It’s always refreshing seeing another ancient gear duelist I am currently in the middle of a few cards being swapped around and being able to see what cards you use does help to bring new ideas I do want to ask though, is running golem and reactor dragon at 1 proving with more positive results than at 2 each respectively?

I main ancient gears and though their are not competititve it is still fun beating meta decks here and there with them. My deck is more pure and I run it with power bond and de fleur.
I must be the only Ancient Gear player that despises use of the Therion monster I don't mind the Infinitrack engine because it syncs well but I've always questioned Therion's place in the deck.

Make it like Branded where every card can fusion summon monster using either from hand, deck or graveyard, I bet Ancient Gear will be meta.
