I’m looking into getting a jacket from boda skins and I’m not sure what size to get because I’m 5’5 and my waist ranges from 29-31 and my chest is a 34-35 just shy of the XS size. The only problem is my waist is like 3-5 inches off, so I’m not sure how the waist will be of the jacket.
Mike - My measurements with shirt off are: 30" waist, 39" chest, 5' 7 1/2" tall, 33" from spine at back of neck to wrist bone, and 140lbs. I like my clothes, especially a leather jacket, to fit in the very snug - tight range. Having said that, I just tried on the Boda Skins Kay Michaels in both a Small and XS (their UK sizing) while wearing a button up cotton long sleeve shirt underneath. when zipped up using the nearer zipper position (there are 2 different zipping positions), I felt the Small was too roomy overall, and the XS was perfect for my arms, shoulders and chest. It wrapped around my upper torso and felt like it hugged my body, but wasn't restricting due to the stretch in the material. However, for my preference, the XS was about 2" too wide at the naval, and about 2-3" too long at the bottom hem. This extra material in the lower torso region was noticeable in the lower back and at the sides where there seemed to be a puckering/ fold on each side (when viewed from the front) at approximately the height of my naval. The fold wasn't noticeable when the jacket was worn unzipped; the fit actually looked much better when worn unzipped. I then tried both sizes on again while wearing a medium weight cardigan over my button up cotton shirt and used the farther zipper location. It still felt great in my upper torso, and was improved in the lower torso somewhat, but still not enough for me to be happy with the fit at the Boda Skins price point. Be well.

I am close to your measurements 96 chest, 172 height but I have a huge drop to my waist 71. Would S fits me? Also, how is the arm length? I know biker jackets are supposed to have long arms but it bugs me sometimes.

The people who said it doesn't look good on you are fucking idiots. It fits perfectly and you're absolutely right about the stretching. Just don't expect sleeves to become longer. Get them long to begin with. What really kills it for me is the zippers and snaps. Such beautiful gold popping against a fairly matte nappa. Came back to this video before having one made for the season. I think your idea of how a leather jacket should fit is identical to mine - over a base layer and a thin sweater. If it fits close enough, you can thro on an overcoat to look even more badass.

Nikola Tesla yeah i think size S would be fine. The arm length is tiny bit long. It comes to my hand knuckles.

The people who said it doesn't look good on you are fucking idiots. It fits perfectly and you're absolutely right about the stretching. Just don't expect sleeves to become longer. Get them long to begin with. What really kills it for me is the zippers and snaps. Such beautiful gold popping against a fairly matte nappa. Came back to this video before having one made for the season. I think your idea of how a leather jacket should fit is identical to mine - over a base layer and a thin sweater. If it fits close enough, you can thro on an overcoat to look even more badass.
