I had Chat GPT Create Fully Automatic Blender Scripts!

  • After repeated log-in attempts, I finally got access to Chat GPT and created a few custom Blender scripts, one of them even produced a decent looking voxelated dog!
This was pretty crazy as I don't normally code with python, like at all. But I was still able to follow along and see how the scripts were influencing the 3D viewport. Really cool way to get into python scripting through hands-on experience!
Let's stay in touch. Check out some of my other content.

(partway through video the audio and video appear to be out of sync, thanks NVIDIA, will fix this in future videos!)

I ran a script on a solar system with shooting star animations and it actually worked. I had a few syntax errors but was able to fix it either manually or by asking Chat GPT to fix it for me

that's impressive! Yeah I'm definitely underselling the value of Chat GPT for Blender scripting here. I'm sure it could do some complex operations with a little tweaking. I'll take note of that and try some more stuff this weekend!

I love your video. I am coding in python with GPT-4. There's a GPT4-Add-On for Blender. It is perfectly integrated and saves a lot of time. All you need is a valid API-Key for GPT.

If this is what is available to the public, you can bet your last dollar that there's something way more advanced in the works behind closed doors at all major organizations across industries.
I expect to see AI utilizing the capabilities of apps for creative folk much more efficiently and achieving business friendly results much quicker in the months to come.
Sure it will still be a 'tool' for creatives during those months, but it 's likely gonna lead to smaller team sizes pretty soon, where a handful of talented, AI savvy creatives do the work that used to require large teams.

Most certainly. Major kudos to OpenAI for keeping these programs relatively cheap and easy to use. I've heard Google's Bard touted as a "Chat GPT killer" but there's no telling since its not publicly available (yet) lol.
But yeah, being heavily invested in the startup scene myself, this is a huge win for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who wont have to hire or outsource as much

one thing to point out is chat gpt is trained on info from2021 so it might not be able to do somethings with the latest blender

great video, i would love to see rigging and animating characters. one thing i recommend is switching to obs for recording. i read ur description and assume you are using nvidia geforce to record, I was using nvidia geforce to record for the longest time and recently tried obs and i love it. i was stubborn to try it out, but i recommend trying it out, its definitely more user friendly.

I really should. I do have OBS but it somehow causes my cam to flicker, not sure what's up but appreciate the feedback! I do want to increase the production quality for these vids!

Hi, interesting video. Do you think ChatGpt can produce visual scripting like blueprint for Unreal Engine or grasshopper for Rhino? or is it limited to text script coding lke using Python and Java?

In that case it really is easier to just animate it directly in blender, no bog thing. But if you say you would use ChatGPT help for complex scripts solving complex systems than I really have to say, that's a good thing and it makes sense.

i've tried to have ChatGPT rigged and animate characters for me, but it says it can't rig characters. and that it doesn't know any anatomy to create a character that you want.

I think that adding 20 sphers around at a radius of 1 mter is faster to do without using chatGPT script generator...

Yes, likely won't see a takeover of any kind. But definitely a useful tool to help speed up workflow or quickly cycle through concepts. Appreciate the comment!

I hope there wire bone plugging script

    • @virikemen
      @virikemen  ปีที่แล้ว

yo, that'd be insanely useful actually. The current plugin I use only allows for humans and tetrapods but even then, you still have to configure the bones and animate yourself.
Check out Mixamo if you havent already. I'd say that's the closet thing we have so far.
