Before I would purchase this I would like to know how complex the prompts can be for this. Does It only work with primitives or can it do more complex things like sculpting/modelling shapes, like for example, an apple or a window?
I don't have it myself, but it seems that gpt4 is very good at turning ideas into code. It is not, however, built for creating things. It might do well for apple or other simple/common models, but it would struggle with pairing multiple shapes together, as shown with the cubes. There are some models I've heard about that can generate 3d models anyways.
I used this command: "Create a person using no more than 300 polygons" and it gave me just an elongated cube with some extrusions. Tried other similar commands with little progress. I think it's more command-based, like "create a sphere", "turn that sphere green", "extrude the highlighted faces", etc.
Also, I gave the program too much credit. The extrusions didn’t even get extruded lol. Oh, and the use of the Python API is outdated. I’m getting a lot of “unrecognized” errors on functions and properties. I use the API a lot, so that’s too bad.

Or don't even let you being stopped by an error message because this communication happends automatically in the background. What would be very helpful is the ability to capture previous prompts as clear text, for edits & re-execution. Yes, we can click SHOW CODE to see the Python expression of the prompt. But I find myself wanting to just start over and re-execute my previous prompt with a few grammar tweeks. Right now, the text used for previous prompts is exposed, but cannot be copy/pasted. Minor irk, as it means simply typing the prompts out in a text editor first, then pasting them into the add on.

The intro is funny. Asking GPT-4 to place cubes in a circle, is like asking a genie for a candy bar. However a genie can change the constant of the universe, based on a wish. And in most cases, you get only three of them. Though, GPT-4 can't change the universe for you, you can keep asking it to do for you what it can, how many times you want. So, asking it to place cubes in a circle once, is not quite the same as wasting some very limited wish count given by a genie.
I purchased it from the link you provided, installed the .zip on Blender, generated and pasted the API key, but now Im getting an error any time I enter a message in the GPT-4 Blender Assistant. It's a lot of file errors and one that says 'gpt-4' does not exist. Have you heard of this issue and do you know of a solution?

you need a paid OpenAI subscription in the first place, like ChatGPT Plus. Otherwise you don't have a valid plan to use the OpenAI API key. Inside the Blender Add-on, you can also choose between GPT-4 (expensive plan) or GPT3.5 (inexpensive). Alternative is to use free ChatGPT side by side with Blender, as showcased in earlier videos of Stray. Essentially lets you do the same use cases by generating Py scripts for Blender

I asked gpt to create 200meters x 200 meters landscape design with trees etc. + wanted him to create 3-4 two storey medieval houses. and yeah It crashed and after I deleted some conflictions the gpt only created a planar surface like a pizza sheet with 1 cylinder on it. lol It needs to develop a lot but this seems cool for basic stuff.

Blender has zbrush like Texture painting module. Blender has adobe premiere like Video Editing module. Blender has After Effects like Compositing module. I'm still not sure for what we need AI in Blender right now. For texturing you use Substance and modeling, sculpting, animating you do in Blender. And Substance uses AI for creating the maps in backing. So for what you guys use GPT in 3D?
Waayy more than that, it costs $0.03-0.06 for 1000 tokens for the 8K GPT-4 model according to the website. I must've used multiple thousands of characters by now and I have yet to run out.

Everyone wants to know if it can create complex objects. what happens if you ask the language model to. Imagine if the following existed.
User: get gpt create a dog thats looks kinda like a dragonfly and rig it.
User: now creat a barkiny animation.
If openAi Works a blender or 3D Studio suites this would save developers so much time. And what also allow non-experienced people to create awesome pieces of Art

Really cool to see others using GPT4 with Blender. So excited about what it will be able to do. I'm working on textures & more complex geometry commands next..
I'm still not sure for what we need AI in Blender right now. For texturing you use Substance and modeling, sculpting, animating you do in Blender. And Substance uses AI for creating the maps in backing. So for what you guys use GPT in 3D?

@@StrayCreations so you basically get about 38 tokens that would allow 152 characters roughly
Waayy more than that, it costs $0.03-0.06 for 1000 tokens for the 8K GPT-4 model according to the website. I must've used multiple thousands of characters by now and I have yet to run out.

Lol I downloaded this yesterday it worked for about a day and then stopped taking my API keys. Back to the old ways already.
So it makes simple shapes :/ was expecting a little more sadly haha
