I think it's great that you're starting a new hobby! Just so you know, it can be addictive...
Thanks for the comment, sir!
I subbed last year, got to be tough to pick left handed, something I rarely see is using different methods to open the same lock, thanks for the video
Thank you! You're more than welcome!
I've tried picking right-handed, and that is FAR harder for me!
Man i enjoy watching another lefty pick! I swear everything is always double work when comes to stuff like this bein a lefty🤷🏼👏. Always had to learn right handed then teach myself left. . Great pick man. Even though its a masterlock. Oneday you’ll find a stubborn one. Have ya tried the 19 yet? The two i have i couldnt open. But im working on the second one now. Keep up the awesome content man!
I've not tackled a 19. Mebbe I'll try one and make you shoutout of the week in that video.
Thank you! It's always great to find fellow left-handed pickers!
Very nice! Another great video, poking some fun at masterlock!! I think their ratings are mostly for the physical side of security, definitely not the pickers side! But to give credit though, most of the general public doesnt know about picking or how to pick. A theif generally isnt going to pick a lock as there are usually too many unknown variables. They want the quickest, easyest, quietest way in and would circumvent the lock in another way. Pry the hasp off/cut the chain its on etc. I have been thinking of video ideas exploring this topic because we in the community do poke so much fun at masterlock, including myself lol. But outside of locksport, to the general public they are tough locks on the physical side. Any thought on this or ideas i might be able to use for a video? Or maybe even a collaboration of some sort?
I agree. A thief is going to go straight to destructive entry. Picking a lock has too many variables. This is what I mean by locks keeping honest people honest. If you're not a thief and you see a lock, it'll keep you out. No lock, and an honest person might get curious and nosy and want to see what's inside. A thief, however, is just going to grab a brick, pry bar, whatever and bust in. And yeah... I agree that the ratings are physical toughness. I mean some of their lower rated locks have security pins and are tougher to pick, but this is all standard pins.
A collaboration could def' be fun! We could trade locks from our naughty bucket, or both try the same lock, or...?
Ideas for you could be: a lock way out of your comfort zone; challenging yourself to a speed picking thing; a combo lock decode; trying to pick with your off-hand; um...that's all I got off the top of my head.
