I had to watch your tutorial again, now I’m trying to creat with the mesh tool a clear plastic pita bread bag, I’m using 4% to 12% black on the mesh points in shading and whites to give the wrinkle effect. Is this what you would do? Thanks.
Thank you. I have been searching for this technique for months and you finally made it possible. It is a somewhat long process but renders the results I was looking for.
IS there a faster way to transform a complex shape in a simpler shape instead of creating a square and fitting it to the complex shape, which can be tedious depending on the complexity of the shape itself?
I really appreciate this, but wanted to know ,can we not draw the shape = S with the pen tool ? and then use mesh tool to create lines- I dnt knw if this can work or not - Just asking ?
Bubble Bath, You probably already tried this... and found the answer. But in case someone else comes across this... The answer is no... (at least not on AI CS4.. yea, I'm old-school). It seems the mesh creation process needs a middle anchor point; something a penned shape does not have. Unless, is there a way to give create such an anchor point to any shape? That may work, and therefore save a ton of time not having to recreate a mesh shape from a box.
