I have always liked a setup that is more store/warehouse. The floor space is only helpful if you use the floor for something. I think if looks great!
I'll have to see once I get all the merchandise in if I need more floor space or not...I still can't decide, LOL!

Loving the shelves that way! I love changing my set up here and there as it helps sometimes with space or keeping track of & accessing your ingredients etc.

Welcome back! I see a few people going to manufacturing their products instead of handmaking. With profit margins so tight these days, how is this possible? I like the shelves in rows, it just looks better.
Manufacturing isn't for everyone...but for me the numbers made sense and I personally was getting so drained trying to keep up with demand. So that's not necessarily a financial benefit but my work life balance is 100% better!

You will have a lot more space the way you are doing it now, you will really see it when your pallets come in. Think where house/grocery store, they are designed the same way, dont forget to set your end caps!! lolThanks for sharing. If you could do a video on finding buying custom boxes that would be great!! Dont need to see anything, just know how to do it.

I am somewhat new at this. Been working off and on since 2018. Finding a space to make and store product seems to be my downfall. Home is too small to make and store so my business is on the back burner for a moment until a space comes available. I really enjoy your videos and love seeing your furkid Lucy!
Finding a space is SO hard! I got lucky and a friend helped me out but there really aren't many places available for what we do...so I totally understand the frustration!

Your studio's looking great! My passion project soap business is launching in September. I just tell people "no spoilers" or "it's a surprise" instead of details of products which fits into the more fun theme of my brand. Btw, those mini split units are INCREDIBLE. You will love it!

So good to see you again Caitlin! You DO look healthier, that's good that you're eating better and moving your body a lot more. I was also working too hard and not taking care of myself a year ago, as business owner it can get to that point if we don't step back, but I've been taking care of me in the past 7 months and it's amazing how different i feel. I really love how the studio looks but the shelves look weird like that but i think that, BUT how they are you kind of have a 360 area to move and i don't know, just give it a try and if doesn't work at the end then just put them back. Thats what i do at my workshop 🤣🤣
That's so great you're prioritizing yourself and you're right, it's so easy to put ourselves last. I still have the shelves that way and it's okay...still not 100% in love with it but I won't know until I get my big order.

I can definitely fit more stuff on them when they are slanted like that. But there is still something I'm not 100% loving. I will have to see once I get my order how it all flows!

Definitely keep your plans/designs/biz name, etc to yourself right now. Those of us who are serious about this would do the same and we completely understand and support and appreciate you. I really needed this video. I’m feeling some kind of way about things and when your video popped up in my notifications yesterday, it was like a breath of fresh air. I haven’t had time to sit and watch it until now but I thank you for it and I’m excited to see you’re making progress in planning and bringing your vision to life.
I was thinking. If I understood correctly, you said maybe placing the items that come in on the shipment in the middle of the room, but would there be some way to position those wire shelves to create a back corner “room” where you could stage it all? It might help it to feel like there is less clutter (for lack of a better word). I can’t draw a diagram on here obviously but if you could imagine facing your packing station or thereabouts, and turn around (180), that opposite back corner could store your shipment, and the wire shelves could be the walls that separate it from your actual work space. Does that make sense?
I think most people understand which is so great! I am very excited to share more once it's a little closer. I like your concept of the studio space...I need to get my order first and see how much space it all takes up. But if I change anything I will definitley film it!
Hey! Glad to see a new video from you! It has been awhile. I understand keeping things to yourself. I rented a space from a land lord that would copy everything that I did. She stated she could make whatever she wants even if it is similar items to mine. I lost a lot of money just by renting from her. I am currently running my business from home again and it has been slow for the most part. I am thinking of giving it all up.
Oh no! I'm so sorry about your situation, I do believe in karma but still must be tough if it really hurt your business like that. Sometimes taking a break is needed to figure our your next move. Maybe it's not giving up but pivoting!
more floor space. I find it dangerous when the shelfs arent attached to the walls at least.
I kind of agree but I don't think I'll be putting heavy items on them. I think I'm going to need the floor space for the order but if not I may put them back!

Ugh that's awful, I'm so sorry! It sucks to be sneaky but I think most people understand that it's our livelihoods. I hope the copycats didn't take too much away from you.
