I think you made the right decision to sand the floors. To move everything in and then back in again would be doing the work twice! This is much better.

Agree! I'm glad the sanding process seems a lot easier in the living room than it was in the kitchen, and it will be so nice to have the room done for Christmas when family is there :)
I'm loving the living room Reno vlogs, don't go killing yourself to make festive vlogs because I'm sure I speak for alot of people when i say its so nice just to see normality, and normality is sanding the floor weeks before Christmas or painting the walls because you just want it done before Christmas. Loving it! ❤ xxx

I had a strong inkling you wouldn't resist sanding your floors before Christmas! Not a bad decision, it won't weigh on your mind anymore. Pour yourself another relaxing bath at the end of it all and you'll be golden.

The sander in the thumbnail made me crack up after just watching the other recent vlogs where you said you wouldn't sand the floors yet haha, but it's better to just get all of it over with and fully finish the room! if I could I would come sand and paint all of the rooms for you like a secret Christmas elf!

Yes i enjoy the occasional 'xmas tree decoate with me' but I don't need to watch 10 of them... Plus i live in a renovation too so i feel solidarity towards you 😂
Hahaha I feel the same way! My kitchen is only half done at the moment! I have a working sink and a cooktop, but no oven lol.

Floors look great. I made that same mistake with sandpaper on my stairs. Starting with 80 grit is definitely the way to go. Thanks for the inspiration, I did end up painting my skirting boards yesterday ❤️✨
Skirting boards sounds so much nicer than base boards. Ugh American English is so dull lol :)

Forget the plan and just vlog what's going on so you can give yourselves a bit of a break. And if you really want, you can post them after Christmas. It's always nice to watch celbrations after they've happened to keep us in the Christmas spirit.
The door looks nice raw, but I think it is a bit too rustic for the space. Painting it wil make it more high end and fitting with the rest, I think. The room is looking really good!

I thought you might go ahead and do the floors. I think it is the right decision because you will have to take everything out of the living room again to get the floors done - plus the radiator is coming. I totally agree with your decision even though it is a rush to get it done before Christmas.

Yes I always find masking tape a massive faff and it hardly ever works!

My mom could freehand like no one I've ever seen, but I've never been able to. Shaky hands. The trick with painter's tape is to seal the edge with a thin layer of caulk and then paint over that. My brother-in-law showed me that trick, and I get a perfect line every time.
