I just discovered your videos yesterday, really like what you are doing, I have been upcycling my clothes for over 50 years, glad to see that the younger generations are doing it. Good Job.

NOTE: Apparently the stitching i did isnt considered sashiko stitching. I assumed it was based on the videos i watched while trying to prep for this specific DIY.
I apologize if I offended anyone with this misinformation!

i believe this is called "crash stitching" correct me if i'm wrong. sashiko is hand done & meant to be ornate. there are machines though that create the same look as well. boro is not a type of stitching though, it is a more so a japanese philosophy focused on repairs and mending over years & years of wear, age, & tear to make one piece last as long as possible to avoid buying new things. often ppl mistake boro and sashiko as being the same thing but they are not. this is because often times they are used together. cool tutorial tho man, well done. the dying process would actually be a good idea imo to rly give it a more aged look. (btw this info is from my own research & understanding of japanese clothing, i'm not an expert but it is actually hard to find the correct information on it because a lot of ppl spread misinformation so its easy to get misinformed). hope that helps !

@@escapejudgement I’ll be honest bro I’m still a little confused so I just avoid using the terms in general now lmaoo. But I’ve heard the zig zag stitches were called darning stitching…. So yah I’m still confused 💀

I saw a video defining Shashiko and Boro. I believe the stitching verb is Shashiko and the end result is a noun Boro. It is confusing, but it's all beautiful. Great job!

I don't know why you didn't just use a small bleach ratio/to water (like 1:10) and just spray in places for fading.
You could then use a tea bag or coffee (natural stain) to add a slight "beige/tan" tinge to get that colour you wanted!
i doubt you're gonna want to wash these lots so I'd finish with fabric protector to make them stain resist after too!
Nice job! You've given me some of my own jeans finishing ideas!!

You could sponge some watered down light brown paint on your pants or you could try tea or coffee to stain the pants to age them and match your sample pants a little closer. Also, if you are new at something always start in the least conspicuous place. Keep up the good work.
