If visibility is low and you’re sounding the floor it’s probably better to use the handle of an ax or pike pole rather than the metal ends. If the victim happens to be on the floor at the window then you’ve probably just added to their injuries if you stab them with the pike or the ax head.
Also, you should never heal a ladder with your back to the building. Whatever is happening is behind and above your head. Always face the front.
    Other than that good job.

Wouldnt you wait to force the door so there is not another air source feeding the fire?

Question: How do you rescue heavier people from that high if you don't have a ladder truck?

u can have a person on the latter waiting and place the victims legs over the shoulder of the firefighter on the latter so that as the firefighter steps down the victims back is slidding against the rungs as u walk down this helps reduce the strain of the weight of a heavier person as your legs are naturally stronger than your arms and upper body

Make the window a second story door if you need. Not your fault if they are too big to move, just keep fire and smoke out of that room if you can till you can do a conversion. That'd just be my guess.

The way they fumbled around with that door....I wouldn't want them on my crew, and what's up with that carry down the ladder, it's not going to be as easy with a 250lb person!
