BUT, I got mine from Ulta on the 21 days of beauty it was 50% off reg price so I spent $ 21 plus change and stocked up with 5 of them!! This is the time you should buy it. If i continous to go up in price I will NOT repurchase it. :)
That is such a steal! Smart of you to stock up! But yes, if the price gets too much we all have a line we won't cross, lol! Thanks for this insightful comment, I appreciate you Linda!
Chafing gel as primer has been my savior in a humid climate. I’ve switched from Estee DW to L’Oréal true match. Stays all day when using the chafing gel. Especially for oily girls 😊
Some find the formula a bit heavy or drying, especially if you prefer a more natural, skin-like finish. The lack of a pump on the bottle is also a common complaint, as it can lead to wasted product :-)
I also switched to from ELDW to Revlon's colourstay as it got so expensive! Just cant see myself paying so much for a foundation! The one thing I must say is that the ELDW foundation also contains skincare ingredients but there is nothing wrong with the Revlon foundation. I tried so many drug store foundations to switch over but to me Revlon was the closest to ELDW foundation. Thank you for your review ❤
Smart lady! I am a 71 year old male with skin discoloration and combo skin. I love the colorstay in both formulas mixed together, because at 70 your skin gets dehydrated, and it works great! I set it with my Wet and Wild translucent powder, and I am set for the day!
I’ve used the Revlon Color Stay foundation for many years and it performs perfectly for me. I’m over 50 with dry skin. It lasts a good 12 hours. I apply it lightly, no primer, no setting powder or spray. Just my daily moisturizer underneath.
Hearing you mention the constant humidity in Singapore 🦁cheers my heart. Makeup here is a nightmare...especially as a dry-skin 50+ woman. The One Size Setting Spray has helped a lot though. The Estee foundation here is now $86 CAD. And the colors def pull orange for me. Oh well...one more thing to skip.
I totally agree, I don't buy ELDW foundation anymore b/c of the price, just don't need a heavy foundation, period, I loved Mac Face & body, but that was discontinued to, all the prices have gone up on bobbi brown/changel, it's rediculous, so I just ask for Gift Cards for christmas, that helps out a lot, TY for your time!
🇺🇸 The only foundation that I found that fit me perfectly is EL double ware Maple Sugar 4N3. I paid $52. (Including tax) for the bottle at Ulta. I haven’t worn it much and it has been sitting on my shelf for nearly two years now but I love it. I often use it as a spot concealer. A setting power that matches your skin tone will conceal any ashiness. I need to find a cheaper alternative since I don’t wear foundation that often. I use to wear Revlon Colorstay in the shade Rich Ginger (perfect match) and they discontinued it. I was crushed. The trick with the EL double wear is to deeply moisturize your face followed by a good hydrating primer before applying it. You can’t deny it’s a great foundation for those who don’t mind paying the high price.
I agree with all of this! (I made an older video about how you must moisturize a LOT before using it so it doesn't look cakey!) And also I agree it makes a great concealer, you can dab on just a little and it spreads nice and thin if you use fingers. Thanks for the great comment and dropping your shade info, that's always helpful for others. I appreciate you!
I have gone to stores where salespeople have tried to sell me Estee Lauder double wear. Besides the price and not being able to find a color that was close enough, I have a big problem with the bottle. It is much too heavy to be portable. As well, having the sponge inside the bottle means the foundation gets contaminated the first time you touch it to your hand or face and put the top back on! Fit Me is my favorite foundation and I've paid as little as $9 Canadian for it. 🤩
Oh yeah, I didn't even get into the open bottle/no pump issue in this particular video, it's really a knock against it, I agree. Fit Me is on my list to try...once I get through all these Revlon bottles lol! Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!
I've been using Revlon Colorstay for at least 20 years. I've tried other brands but I keep coming back to it. I was a Walgreens Beauty Advisor back then and when we went to a training with a Revlon rep they told us not to use anything under the foundation because it was formulated for use on bare skin. I feel I typically get the best results when I do that but it's not 100% necessary IMO.
Oh that's interesting! Thanks for the inside knowledge...I once put up a tiktok about how we put makeup on bare skin in the 90s and the young people were SHOOK, lol! They couldn't believe we didn't use primer or moisturizer at the least. I didn't dare admit to the lack of sunscreen as they were already so scandalized, lol
That’s a crazy price! Do you have any Cosmetics Company Stores near you? It’s where I get my EL, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, MAC, etc. stuff. I’ve also been adding a couple of drops of Advanced Night Serum (from the small bottles you get as extras) and makes the formula lighter. As is not heavy.
@@joeljack1 oh I don’t remember, it was a while ago! I’m gonna try it again when it goes on sale (Canadian drug store prices are vicious) and circle back to this comment and let you know 😊

2C3 is my perfect summer shade and 2N1 was my go to for years. 2N1 has a white/grey undertone but I have rosacea so it helps to mask that. I think if you were to repurchase 1W2 or 2W1 would be a good match because you have warm undertones. I am cool. I have dry skin so I mix a bit of serum and apply with a damp beauty blender. I purchased 1N2 right before the prices went up but actually the futurist foundation in the tube is probably my favourite. Its glowy but it dries down. I only buy at shoppers when there is a gift with purchase and extra points or redemption. I love the loreal true match concealer. I recently purchased the nyx blurring foundation and its okay, probably better for oily skin. The new Clarins foundation is stunning and has great options for shade matching. Everything is so expensive now. Our tanking dollar is only going to get worse unfortunately.
Woah this is an awesome piece of intelligence. That white/grey undertone! Yes! You nailed it! Fabulous tips and thanks for teaching me something and giving me another shade to try. I guess I'll be at Sephora testing your theory this weekend :)
