THANK you! I was practically in tears trying to figure out how to get my text to stay where I wanted it. All I needed was that cool little "attach" step. Hooray! You made it so simple....and now I want to make a bunch of these little cards, too.
Joy this is an awesome video! So clear and concise, with LOTS of helpful hints! You are definitely encouraging me to get this new machine! Love these videos. Very cute card too. Thank you! Susan
Thank you so much for this video, especially showing the finished project. I am a visual person like many and seeing the steps is great but adding the actual project helps alot. And thanks for sharing the secret. I knew there would be other pens/markers that would fit, even though I did purchase their pens.lol. I am finding your videos very helpful, hope you will repeat some of these tips/techniques so we really get a feel for this great machine.
Thank you so much for this video. I could not figure out how to write on paper until I saw your video and realized that I wasn't highlighting and attaching the two objects.
well I just took the plunge an bought the explore!!! You an Ken (from Ken's Creations ) are both instigators!!! or enablers!!! lol To the point I have watched about 4 of your videos an my brain is stuffed so I am going to try it now!! wish me luck!!! Your videos of course are awesome!!! thanks so much for helping!!!
Joy, Thank you so much so these videos on the Cricut Explore. I have this machine back order on HNS but was thinking of cancelling my order as the more I thought about it I was concern I would have a hard time working it. Your videos have been so helpful, keep them coming. I may still have a hard time but will refer back to your videos. Thanks again.
OH JOY what an awesome video. I can't thank you enough for you awesome tutorial. Love your Thank You cards they are so cute. Thanks too for the heads up about Tags, Bags, Boxes cartridge did know this. I so can't wait for my Explore to arrive and I do love using markers & gel pens on my Expression so definitely it's easier on the Explore because you can have your blade and your pen in at the same time. Thanks for what you do and how you do it very cool. Joan Smith
Ha! Glad I saw this Joy- I wondered why my Explore didn't write on a basket I was making. It showed on the screen fine but, I obviously didn't know about that "attach" thing!
Thanks Joy! Your videos are always so well planned and executed, they are a "Joy" to watch. It's fun to see the Explore and Design Space is action. I'm not sure it's for me - I'll wait a good six months to see how it all unfolds having been burned in the past. Perhaps if Cricut put out a really good deal for former Imagine owners, I may be more tempted.
Thanks! Wait and see is always a good policy in life. The Explore will be even better in 6 months (hopefully!). But after everything in the past, I totally get it!
I have had my cricut over a yr, just sitting on a table covered up... I have felt sooooo overwhelmed and don't even know where to start.. Sooooo I did get it out today and cut out "R" "N"... For a clipboard I made so that was exciting...lol not sure how I did it but I did. Anyway loved your video, will watch more. New sub. Tfs.
My silouette writes and cuts precisely and I can buy one item rather than a whole cartridge. No bashing but my silouette does it all and has long ago...cricut has just now figured it out.m after drinking the imagine kool aid...I will stick the my Exp and Exp2 and my silouette..but thanks for showing us your new present!
Than k you so much for your videos. I am quickly learning how to use the explore! I have tried this step with Cricut images and it cuts and write beautifully. However, I cannot seem to get it to work with using my own computer font set to write. I layer and attach the exact same way in the video, I even used the same images you did, except wrote my own sentiment in my favorite font. Have you done the print and cut with your own computer fonts? Thank you again for all of your wonderful tutorials!!!
I just purchased this for the first time and I clearly need a manual. I'm old school! You make it look so easy! Can you suggest where I should start? I was so excited when it arrived but I'm nervous to use it. 😳
Google "cricut explore manual" and one from the Cricut site should come up that is downloadable. I don't think I can link it here. It really is a pretty easy machine. You can also join the facebook group "Let's Learn Cricut Explore" - tons of info and people on there to help and inspire! HUGS!! Joy
wow, maybe I need to get and air. I have been using an expression 2 for a while and have been happy with it but l can't write with it. I have seen great projects lately with the write utensil. Thanks for the tutorial.
just went to Joann and got the cricut marker on sale. but still having problem with opening the file to ben able to cut and write on same project. It seems so easy for you...need to watch video again
Thanks for the tip about the slick writers. FYI they sell them at hobby lobby so you can use your 40% off coupon I don't remember if michaels sells them
Thanks for posting videos on the new Explore! I'm wondering how it cuts in comparison to the Expression? Are the cuts cleaner, and have you tried cutting more intricate designs, such as thin fonts or doilies? Have so much invested in the Expression, but really like all the .svg files available, and the cameo makes some nice cuts. Would be great if the Explore could do it all.
I have done some intricate cuts - I have an explore video showing a butterfly cut that I made. I had to adjust the dial to get it but it turned out beautifully!
Thanks so much this is very inspiring.. I know its not the point of your tutorial but i was wondering about your double sided tape dispenser. I spent a fortune on little dispensers at staples when i made layered invitations. Can you tell me what it is and where i can find it? thanks so much
Oh the pens are on sale at Joanns for $9.09 ....that is the online price ,but the retail store gave them to me for that price!!!! That's 30 % off...I don't know how long the sale is...mats an scoring tool also!!!
Hi Joy. I'm looking at the screen and just realized you show a list of something in the left margin..."layers", "type", etc. I don't see that on my software.
If you were making just one card could you make the machine cut it all out on one mat placing different papers on the same mat? Also, does the machine always start at the upper corner? Seems like an awful waste of paper (and mat glue) if you are forced to do that.
Very nice. I'm beginning to see a reason to buy yet ANOTHER Cricut, but I'm torn between buying a Brother Scan n Cut and the Explore. I have 2 questions: First -Would you have been able to edit the writing and change the font? Second and most important question do I understand correctly that if I drew a design by hand, took a photo of it and save it as a .JPG, I could then import the .JPG and the Explore will vectorize it and be able to cut it?
1) these are already created words meant to be written with a pen. I am working with the fonts and pen to show some other options. Then you could do whatever 2) I think you will be able to do this. I will try and get back to you! HUGS!
Joy, i'm watching your How to Write and Cut video, and are the tag bags cards you created on this video available in the Cricut design space images we can upload. thank you
My husband custom designed and 3D printed an adapter for the Cricut Explore that will work with Sharpie pens! I'm so excited because I love the way the Sharpie pens look with my projects (plus, we already have a ton of them around the house!). I tried another adapter but the pen was never in the exact spot that I intended and it got really frustrating when I had to readjust everything. This adapter replaces the removable pen holder. I shared some with my friends and they said that I "had to get this on Etsy" because they were awesome. Anyways, here's the link: www.etsy.com/shop/LittlePaperTowns Let me know if you have any questions! :-)
Hello! Joy I just got my explorer no information as to where to go to the design place. Also I got my thru HSN no code in the box for my free stuff. Can you help me? Thanks a bunch!!
Question...I know this is an older video but im trying to take notes on each subject area on my cricut air pro 2... so if you put an entire sheet of scrapbook paper on your mat for each small area you are cutting, doesnt it ruin the rest of the paper?
Do you have any tips for weeding intricate shapes that have been cut from card stock on th e Cricut? I seem to have trouble getting the pieces to come out cleanly. They cling in at least one place and leave a torn paper residue.
i have recently downloaded a cursive font but when i got to print my letters some letters are in a lot of different pieces and are notpieced together how do i fix that? i have cricut explore
What kind of shelf do you have the explore on? I want to get the machine but still love my expression and this looks like a good shelf to have and use both. Thanks!!
I have an image of a turtle, words, and a pic of a recorded voice how do I get cut to print and cut? I saved the image as a print and cut but I don't know what to do next.
I just got my circuit air.... It is overwhelming!, I need to make cute square tags for favors with only an initial on them, how in the world do I do that?, please, help!
Ok I am stupid I just bought the Cricut Explore but because of trouble with health issues and computer issues I do not remember the user name and pass words I used on the Cricut Expression or the first one I bought. Now I have tried to call Cricut a dozen times in the last 2 weeks and can not get thru to them. Can any one tell me how I can get in touch with someone who can help me get my past sign info? Or tell me how I can sign in since they keep telling me I already have an account and will not let me create a new one.
+Maria Corral No you can't it prints out registration marks to know where the image is at on the computer. The circut will not be able to cut without these marks. On print and cut feature.
THANK you! I was practically in tears trying to figure out how to get my text to stay where I wanted it. All I needed was that cool little "attach" step. Hooray! You made it so simple....and now I want to make a bunch of these little cards, too.

Thank you for making this look easy, I just bought my Cricut Explore and have been trying to watch different video's. I really liked this one.

Oh my goodness your video is the first that hasn't wanted to make me cry!! hahaha! Thank you for the great tutorial!
Have you gotten the hang of it? I haven't!
Thank you so much for this video. I could not figure out how to write on paper until I saw your video and realized that I wasn't highlighting and attaching the two objects.

Thank you for post!!! I really enjoy watching. I have learned a lot from your posts.
I am using the slick markers that Joy recommended by American Crafts. They are working great!
Thanks for the great tutorial! New to the explore and couldn't figure out how to write on a frame. This really helped!
OH JOY what an awesome video. I can't thank you enough for you awesome tutorial. Love your Thank You cards they are so cute. Thank you so much for the video. The card is so cute.
Thanks!!!
Awesome thank you for getting back to me so fast!!
Thanks Joy! Your videos are always so well planned and executed, they are a "Joy" to watch. It's fun to see the Explore and Design Space is action. Thank you for this! I just got my explore and I love it, but I literally kept forgetting how to use this function!
I have had my cricut over a yr, just sitting on a table covered up... I have felt sooooo overwhelmed and don't even know where to start.. Sooooo I did get it out today and cut out "R" "N"... I have felt the same way! Broke it out today and have been trying different techniques this week
Wonderful video. Thanks!

I really enjoyed watching this tonight. I'm very new with my explore. Where it said Thank You could that be deleted and write something else in?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

It is a Scotch Advanced Tape Glider you can find it on Amazon or you can go to Hobby Lobby & I think Michael's might also carry it. LOVE MINE

Hi Joy. I'm looking at the screen and just realized you show a list of something in the left margin..."layers", "type", etc. I don't see that on my software.
Where can I find the design space software. I would like to download it before my cricut explore comes. Thanks

Where I’d you get that cool big pink tape gun?
Very nice. I'm beginning to see a reason to buy yet ANOTHER Cricut, but I'm torn between buying a Brother Scan n Cut and the Explore. Joy how do you learn all this? It would take me forever to figure it all out. I've never worked with the design software before.
Joy, i'm watching your How to Write and Cut video, and are the tag bags cards you created on this video available in the Cricut design space images we can upload. thank you

Also what brand is the white pen and whats the scotch tape despenser called
Question...I know this is an older video but im trying to take notes on each subject area on my cricut air pro 2... so if you put an entire sheet of scrapbook paper on your mat for each small area you are cutting, doesnt it ruin the rest of the paper?
How do I make my own signature on the explore to cut out on vinyl?
Do you have any tips for weeding intricate shapes that have been cut from card stock on th e Cricut? I seem to have trouble getting the pieces to come out cleanly. They cling in at least one place and leave a torn paper residue.
i have recently downloaded a cursive font but when i got to print my letters some letters are in a lot of different pieces and are notpieced together how do i fix that? i have cricut explore
What kind of shelf do you have the explore on? I want to get the machine but still love my expression and this looks like a good shelf to have and use both. Thanks!!
You can get one at Walmart in that area by the dish racks and dish shelves. They also have it at amazon. It's around $10...
Where did you buy that cool tape gun? Lol
Where can you buy these slick writer pens
I have an image of a turtle, words, and a pic of a recorded voice how do I get cut to print and cut? I saved the image as a print and cut but I don't know what to do next.
Hi not to sound ignorant but is that new Cricut machaine?
if a project uses multiple pens, does it prompt you when to change?
I am working on a layered project with an image that I have uploaded...but I can't get the writing to attach to that layer. Any suggestions?
Lol! Thanks!
Hi Joy! Does all Cricut Explore come with the writing tool???
I just got my circuit air.... It is overwhelming!, I need to make cute square tags for favors with only an initial on them, how in the world do I do that?, please, help!
Can you make your own text and then write it on a shape and cut the shape out?
Couldn't you have arranged the images on the mat screen and arranged the colored paper on the mat and cut them all at the same time?
What computer are you using
Ok I am stupid I just bought the Cricut Explore but because of trouble with health issues and computer issues I do not remember the user name and pass words I used on the Cricut Expression or the first one I bought. Now I have tried to call Cricut a dozen times in the last 2 weeks and can not get thru to them. Can any one tell me how I can get in touch with someone who can help me get my past sign info? Or tell me how I can sign in since they keep telling me I already have an account and will not let me create a new one.
what is that scotch thing u are using?
What was the glue handle thing you used to put the pieces on top of each other?
It is a Scotch Advanced Tape Glider you can find it on Amazon or you can go to Hobby Lobby & I think Michael's might also carry it. LOVE MINE

Obsessedwithscrappin ok thanks...one question currently I don't owned a printer you think I can print somewhere else and have the cricut cut it?
+Maria Corral No you can't it prints out registration marks to know where the image is at on the computer. The circut will not be able to cut without these marks. On print and cut feature.
Subtittle spanish please🙇♂️ i ñove your videos
Could you just change the writing to say, perhaps, your name or address? I am dreaming of a Cricut Explore WRITTEN manual! :D
Yes you can write anything. And google Cricut Explore manual and there is a pdf you can download...
way too many unnecessary commentary
