Thank you for continuing to cover affordable watches! As much as I love other channels, I feel as though a lot of them only cover or lean towards only covering high end, luxury watches. I feel like those channels forget that not all of us are made of money. I also appreciate how you and Mark cover the positives of watches and their companies. As much as I love them, I also find that other channels also tend to complain about high end, luxury watches based on conjecture. But what do I know.
You are so right, I could not agree more. This is why I only subscribe to a very select few.
Too much complaining, not enough experience, positivity or open mindedness IMO. You are what you eat, therefore you are what you watch and subscribe too.

It also took me a long time before I convinced myself it was ok to buy a luxury brand. (And I own just one)
Besides I enjoyed my watches under 500€ just as much when I bought them.
Horology and watch enthousiasme is so much more then just discussing and admiring luxury brands.

Dive watches are my jam. My favorite will still always be the Casio Duro. I also want the Citizen Promaster Diver. I have great news Tristano, for the past month I have been exercising nonstop and as of this morning I have lost 18 lbs. From 260 to 242 and I'm feeling so much better. Onward and upward.

YES! The Glycine Combat Sub is such a fantastic and underrated watch.
Very true... not sure where the submaster comparison comes from though 🤔 it's much better than a sub.
Sadly they run about 1000 bucks here in Sweden. Gonna have to get it from overseas or on chrono as my dealers have them at insane prices.
I thought about getting one but I read too much bad stuff about Invicta.

TGV! Zelos! Get on it! I recently picked up a Horizons GMT in the blue dial secondhand. It’s a gem! And they have it in bronze! 👌🏼😘
I am surprised you haven't heard of them TGV - Fantastic watch, just got my second, a Swordfish in 40mm to go ith the bronze 42mm. Awesome pieces.

I own a Zelos Horizons GMT in bronze with a blue dial and it's one of my favorites. Zelos tends to go for watches that are a bit too large or bulky for my taste and their sales strategy is somewhat odd, resulting frequently in models getting sold out before the official sale barely start. However, the Horizons GMT is neither large nor bulky. It's 12mm thin, it has a sub 40mm bezel diameter, a short 45mm lug to lug distance and the dial is uncluttered with a color matched date window at the 6 o'clock position - all of which result in a perfect package for me. The choice of color, materials fit and finish is very good and I can only find two negatives to my model: The blue GMT bezel is not particularly legible and 24hours GMT marks on the chapter ring are practically invisible at most viewing angles.

Bought my Combat Sub on your recommendation. I'm still totally in love with it!
The Invicta takeover has had some very very subtle changes between the originals, but it comes down to serial number placement, and the logo on the dial (no longer applied).
The best thing to come out of it is the whole array of colours available. It's pretty cool to have that choice!
The fling with the logos with wings wasn't even because of Invicta . The change in logo was before the acquisition
I appreciate you and Marc working together on these "joint" videos. I am a Long Island Watch custy and have communicated with Marc on a couple of topics (not that he would remember me from the hundreds of people with whom he deals) and he is a good d person and businessman! Great video. Keep at it!
In the sub 500$ category Lorier Neptune III is definitely my favorite diver

Great, great video! I own a Steinhart “Semi Homage” of the famous albino Rolex GMT and was so impressed with the quality for the price!
I started collecting Sept last year, partially because of the passion that you show in your content. I was very happy to see three brands in this video that I've become very excited about myself. I recently bought a Dan Henry 1970, a Phoibos Eagle Ray and yesterday I ordered a Zelos Swordfish. I'm extremely happy with them. Keep up the awesome content.
I liked every watch in this review/chat. Nice to see Orient rated so well. My wife bought me an Orient for Christmas and she is my pride and joy.... my wife is pretty cool too ;)
Yeah I picked up an Orient bambino 36mm, they'd been doing bigger sizes on the bambino then they released one at 36mm so snapped it up. The watch keeps great time just gaining 5 seconds a day, but depending on what position I put it when I take it off at night the time readjusts and so keeps good time.

Maximum respect for both of you guys, the go-to persons for most comprehensive educational and fun watch videos especially for a newbie like myself. I was keeping the "Stienhart" card close to my chest thinking you will miss it and I will mention it in the comments but TGV already included it, however my favorite Stienhart is the Ocean One Titanium 500. Onwards and upwards.
You guys can certainly entertain for 50 minutes. My vote goes for Orient Kamasu. Way below 500. Great to wear with great spec too.

Steinhart was my first “real” watch. Quality is superb, original not so much.

World of knowledge after every video! I learned of a few new brands, and now I have another watch box on the the way, since I will be adding to the collection!
Love my Triton even more now. I'd add the Helm Komodo to this list. $300, 40mm case with above average finishing, ISO 300m sapphire, ceramic bezel, amazing lume, NH35 movement and the most crisp crown engagement I've encountered.
Don't you have to fill out a waiting list before you can get there watches?

Two of my favorite watch enthusiasts with a best of video!, I own one of marcs islanders,the isl-12 “turtle” and I love it,I maybe buying another watch from him soon,I actually had an issue which may have been my fault or just a fluke but I contacted Marc he got right back to me and solved the issue no questions asked! I was glad to see the solar padi get a mention. I got it for my Dad for his birthday a few years back, and he wears it daily. Great watch.
I have an idea on how to get the new generation (gen z) into watches:
Team up with the watch community and make videos about watches for young people like the Seiko 5 sports, or the citizen eco-drive. Then maybe make an ad on Instagram, or like a # something. So that if they click it, it will interest them. Also go with modern-designed watches, like sports or dive watches, because that is mostly what will interest them, and say to stay away from fashion watch companies, and companies like vincero and filippo loretti. Also include watches about both guys and girls. Anyway, just some ideas to help grow the watch community in the world.
I love that you are putting thought into this much needed cause.
I'm certainly going to bring this up with Marc next time we speak.
We deffo need to grow and spread the joys of this hobby.

Have to agree on the Helm...I have the Vanuatu V4 and it's fantastic...the only problem with helm is getting one in your hands but they're working on solving that issue. I'd like to see what TGV thinks of it
@@stephenchometa8446 yes. i have been trying to get a Vanuatu for over a year. every time they have a "launch" their website crashes and they are sold out after a few minutes. i emailed them and said that they should stop wasting their time manufacturing the KHURABURI & KOMODO and just go with the

My favorite diver watch under $500 is the Phoibos Wavemaster MOP. I got it 2 months ago and hasn't left my wrist since. My other watches are getting jealous but I'm still in the honeymoon period with this beauty. It is perfection and it only cost me $390. I highly recommend it and would love to see you review it 😁. I feel like a lot of what separates a micro brand from a not-micro brand has a lot to do with its history. A lot of the companies we view as micro brands are really new.

I’d like to suggest that a “micro-brand” is a brand that doesn’t have its own manufacturing facilities and is limited to parts made by OEMs. Given that assembly is contracted out, they have less quality oversight.
It’s possible by this definition Apple is also a micro brand, but they do some of their own manufacturing and design ground-breaking components, not just off the shelf parts.
It is pure joy to listen to TGV and Marc having a fun conversation. They are very different types of gentlemen, but the chemistry is percieveable. 'Un Capo di Lavoro' for sure.
I would definitely watch a joint video every month.
