Just started using Teal today. It is amazing 👏 I am having fun and have a strong handle on crafting a resume per JD. Just signed up for plus. I'm no longer dreading this job search process. Thanks for creating this.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Messages like this make our day-we're so glad you're finding it helpful and no longer dreading the process. That's a huge win. Rooting for you in your search! 🙌
I think Job searching should be a course given in schools this would be very helpful because once you're into a workforce it's like you're tossed in the water without a life jacket
This, on top of many other things...filing/calculating taxes, interviewing skills, professional workplace etiquette and other relevant topics all not taught in schools smh
I just used the Teal software. I was skeptical at first and I just got off the phone with a recruiter right now asking me for an interview. LOL you're a saint!
I find this to be the best video on job description and all, I cannot express in words what you are teaching us but I want this platform to be free atleast for few months.
It needs a thesaurus. When you hover over a high priority word, it should trigger the thesaurus to highlight words throughout your resume that you can swap out for a matching high priority word.
As a resume writer and career coach, it scares me that this might replace my job. However, I also think that people still need job clarity and an initial resume to get to the customization part like this.
Absolutely hear you! We like to think it won't fully replace the need for human connection or interaction-but it can be such an accessible starting place for folks. Appreciate your outlook! Thanks for sharing!
The thing I wish these tools would do is differentiate between if when we apply for a new job in a different field to have a concentration on transferable skills as opposed to a job already in our field that we already have experience in. Because they two examples would need two different resumes .
One thing to point out is that you only have to put these keywords in your resume one time. Some job matching programs/site recommend to put that word in your resume just as frequent as that word appears in the job description.
A good distinction! Our keywords tool highlights the frequency of keywords so you know which are the most important to include in your resume-but you don’t have to include it 10 times just because the job description did!
Thanks for the love! Glad to hook you up with a free month to say thanks-just send us a note (sm@tealhq.com) letting us know what email address you used to sign up!
Great tool. I have also used Jobscan and careerflow. I have noticed that with Teal system allows to add same entry twice if position was reposted so i have to remove previous entry manually.
Hey there! Are you referring to the Job Tracker? If a job gets reposted, likely it has a different URL and may show up as a brand-new job. The system will only flag as a duplicate add if you add a job job with the same URL. Our engineers are currently trying to find a resolution! I hope that helps answer some of your feedback, but thank you for letting us know! 😀
Hi David, Teal is really great tools. I'm trying for craft my resume in Teal already.👍 Why you not creat a tools for cover letter in Teal? I'm lazy to swap into other platform 🤣
Hi there! Thanks so much for the feedback. We'd love to get there eventually - it's not on the roadmap for the moment but adding to our list for down the line!
Currently, Teal is optimized for English at this time. We're working to expand our services to support multiple languages as we continue to move forward. Please stay tuned!
It definitely takes time and investment, but creating one big base resume to work off of will save time matching and identifying what to highlight later one. Start with one resume and pack it with everything and all accomplishments, not worrying about length. When you're ready to apply and tailor, you can toggle on and off achievements relevant to the job posting easily within Teal. This helps save time so tailoring doesn't take more than a few minutes max. If you're applying to drastically different roles or fields, we recommend doing so with each different role. The matching score is more of a guide and doesn't need to be the final end-all for a tailored resume, so definitely use with a grain of salt. Hope that helps!
Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. We have some longer tutorial videos coming soon, but in the meantime, this video gives a look at how to write resume achievements while using "Matching Mode": th-cam.com/users/shortsv8q4K0YoQCo?feature=share. And this video is a basic walkthrough of the new GPT functionality: th-cam.com/video/q6dfg5-LbjI/w-d-xo.html. Hope this helps!
Sign up for Teal and don't forget to use the Chrome Extension so you can add jobs and use the Matching Mode analysis to help you identify what to put on your resume.
That definitely helps for sure! The job search is a lot of little parts working together. Networking is great but also showing the company your value (what tailoring does) goes a long way as well.
Feedback always welcome about what you'd like to see done differently-appreciate the feedback. The most important thing is to use whatever tools are most effective for you; Jobscan has some great ones.
The job descriptions want fake people. E.g.: (Seeking to hire a corporate lawyer with 20 years of experience and also an engineering background and knows how to build a Model T Tesla! Must speak English, Spanish, and Tagalog. Pays $20 an hour. Overtime required.) Nobody like that on the planet exists, and if they did they would certainly want more than $20 an hour. The job post is just a wish list of skills that the company wishes applicants would have. Expectations vs. reality my friend.

This tool is so amazing! like wow i'm so blown away at how easy it is to rework a resume to fit a JD that you're trying to align with.

Thank you so much I'm starting now to point out the facts could be that's why I've been struggling to get jobs even though I meet the criteria
It's SO hard when you *know* you meet the criteria but then realize your resume may not be *showing* it. Rooting for you!
It needs a thesaurus. When you hover over a high priority word, it should trigger the thesaurus to highlight words throughout your resume that you can swap out for a matching high priority word.
Thanks for creating this, the job search and rejection is killing with this tools it helps to tailor someone resume faster.

Well this is probably cheaper than paying a coch $1k
This is the first tool that I'm willing to pay for the premium and that's saying a lot 😊
Do you mind if we frame this and hang it on our fridge? (Kidding... kinda.) Thanks for the love!

Going from 29% to 80% match is a lot of work and time taking. Wish there is a better speedier way

I hated this tool and found it user unfriendly. I may consider Jobscan.

Yes let’s all create fake resumes to get jobs we aren’t qualified for 😂. That creates fake qualified people!
The job descriptions want fake people.
E.g.: (Seeking to hire a corporate lawyer with 20 years of experience and also an engineering background and knows how to build a Model T Tesla! Must speak English, Spanish, and Tagalog. Pays $20 an hour. Overtime required.)
