I once owned a Dr N64 Drive I had CDs with hundreds of games some of them were in Japanese been trying to look for one again even though emulation exists
I’m so happy to see the part I let go immortalized on camera! I hope they make their ways to loving homes :) Thank you again John for helping in my time of need! It meant a ton!!!
John, If you look very closely at the lower-left corner of the label on X-Men for the NES, right below the Seal of Quality, there is a controller code that from what I remember unlocks a secret room or dialog. What makes that interesting is that the code was right in front of our faces this entire time.
I used the converter out of a five-screw Pinball cart to play Famicom games for years until I finally bought one of those Honeybee adapters a while back.
Totally unrelated to this video, but I was shopping on Amazon for a kitchen sink drain snake last night and saw one of your review videos. You helped me make my purchase. 😂
Nice of John to help a buddy out, looks as through it was part of a once formidable collection. Most of the high value stuff has been picked through it seems. I was hoping he'd open a box and it would be a bunch of rare stuff.
Thank you John! I've always felt iffy about Price Charting values. E-bay sold is basically the best estimation tool we have. Unless something weird happens with a franchise or something that spikes or dips value. Now to finish watching the video. I stopped the moment that message popped up!
Yeah , pricecharting doesn't filter it's results beyond keywords . A lot of sellers put CIB in all of their titles , even incomplete items which causes real CIB games to be generally priced too low .
I don't think Kirby's Dreamland, Metroid 2 and The Lion King for Gameboy are worth anywhere near $121 but I still think you made out well and more importantly, helped a friend which is great in itself. It was fun to watch. Makes me a bit depressed because I sold a ton of my games when I needed cash a few years ago. Almost my entire collection of sealed PS1 games. Games that I loved growing up, a few a which were highly graded. It will bother me forever, but hey, games are for playing and life goes on. Thanks for sharing it with us. 🙂
He got a good price for a $1000. The time alone to list and sell all those carts individually would have been overwhelming and if selling online would have been less than a $1000 after seller fees and having to claim that on taxes if it’s more than $600 sold in one year.
I remember when I lived there and received something I ordered off ebay that used plastic bags as packing material. Alright, free garbage bags! You know you're getting old when something like that is the high point of the month.
When I saw that Gauntlet II cart, instantly brought back memories! We got our NES when I was 4 years old, and I remember when I was 5 or 6, we played the absolute heck out of Gauntlet II. Excellent video!
Rush 2 on the n64 has an amazing stunt mode which is made even better when you implement the very easy to enter cheat code that allows low gravity and all types of other fun options. Great for multiplayer!!!
You'll friend should be happy for the grand since the majority of those games are meh but yeah you bought them to sell them and to help your pal. Good showing and cool video John.👉😃👈
Great video... I must try and get into the NES games more... Coming from the UK, I have less exposure to the machine, but when played it, the games are awesome. I grew up with Spectrum and then Amiga... but I stopped myself buying them as the media of floppy disks tend to mostly not work these days.
Woah that’s a dang good haul! A bunch of the labels were worn so for a perfectionist collector some games might not be good for a collection on the shelf but for the player or someone not caring about label condition an overall great haul
You helped someone out n got a horde of games that you’ll have a fun time selling n keeping a select few as well. The overall value was decent as well. Hope you have a great week ahead good sir 🤘🏼🎮🕹️
$1,000 to spend on games is a dream to come true for me. When you're living on paycheck to paycheck paying all kinds of bills like housing, food, vehicle, etc it is hard to buy games but if flipping games is worth doing I would love to get into that but there is a lot of competition out there and I know it can't be too easy to do
Very cool to see so many replays stickers. That’s been my local game store in alabama for as long as I can remember. Started out with 6-7 stores mostly being in alabama, one being in Mississippi. Now over the years only two stores are left (one in my hometown and one further north from me)
damn and that's price charting so its kind of inaccurate too (high prices can sometimes include the shipping sellers price in their ebay listings) but take the 13-15 percent off of that and your left with 1400 for that amount of work. Yikes, bud that is not the best deal when doing bulk specially slow movers, commons and just crap games. Good thing you have whatnot and a decent following but if it were any other regular joe this is a terrible deal.
Dude definatly kept the good stuff for himself..talk about people having rose tinted glasses looking at the nes and n64. 😂. Good on you though for taking the risk
Giving the fact that plastic shopping bag may contain BPA we (The USA) should move past plastic bags I wonder if you went to the Schnucks near Washington University in St. Louis,Concordia Seminary is behind Washington University in St. Louis,MY brother went to Concordia Seminary
Oof, that's the problem with retro game collecting these days - everybody thinks they have gold. I'd pay like $100 for that lot at a garage sale at most 🤷♂️

How often do you do these?
Man if u added the value as the game came across so much more powerful video for you an me

Smh your a reseller now

I hope things work out for you, I know how it is to have financial issues and have to let things go.
You’re the best ❤

I sunk sooo many hours into that Ken Griffey Jr. baseball game on SNES. Glad you recognized its greatness!
home run derby’s !!!
Likewise i love how they break the bat after 3 strikes 😆
@@8thaccount535 😆😆
Its one of the few sports games I actually like.
totally decent baseball game!

I never noticed!
@@JohnRiggsprobably didn't notice because nobody plays that crappy game more than once.
@@TheeObtuseGoose Well, that may be true, but the fact remains that they were sneaky as to where they placed the code.
😲
Fun video, John. I watched it back-to-back with your $1,200 "friend's trip to Japan" unboxing video.
Addictive series. Hope to see more!
I love that we were able to help Josh out, i love the few games i got from him too

8:15 the cart art for Immortal looks badass.
Neat game. I can't get very far but it was cool to see.

It could be good it could play like a power stone but it plays like a power kidney stone had me laughing like a maniac. 😂
Same 😂😂
Ditto!
These are really fun videos, it’s like Storage Wars but for games. Keep up the good work!
Fr its so cool !

Nice haul!! I really need to get another job lot of games. It was really fun going through the last one!
Yep Schnucks is a local grocery chain here in St. Louis. They got rid of their video rental a few years ago.
Simon's Quest and Dragon Warrior for the win imo
Great stuff, glad you lent a helping hand.
Aww this video is ace!! I was hooked 😂
Simons quest slaps and kicks

Hey, John!
It's funny seeing you so hyped up for the NES carts... while i'm all hyped up for the SNES ones... XD
Great lot, man... cheers!
Batman returns for snes is so underrated. I made sure that I scored a duplicate and better cart to squirrel away and have the other to play.
Power Kidney Stone 😂😂
When your evil cousin is coming back? ROHN JIGGS we have waited long enough
geezz... old school
Natsume Championship Wrestling, EASILY the best wrestling game we got stateside and arguably the best overall series next to Fire Pro on the console.
You definitely got a bang for your buck. It was nice of your friend to sell it all to you.
“It should play like Power Stone, but plays more like Power Kidney Stone”…golden 😂😂
I have Super Solitaire for SNES. It's a collection of very addictive single player card games that I can play for hours. It's a lot of fun.

Man, the left handed forensic science, you sir are the king of video games. For sure. BTW, I was also anticipating.... "anticipation "
I would not wish a Power Kidney Stone on anyone... >_
I’m impressed with your left handed game hold observations. Not sure I would have picked up on that! 😂
POWER KIDNEY STONE! LMAO

Not bad. I need to jump on more of these.
Ken Greffey Jr.
The only Sports game i ever played!
And i don't care a bit for Baseball!!!
This video is like Christmas in August!
The T2 box looked like it had a signature across the front of it. 🤔
Dude you holding up astynax in the intro took me soooo far back. I had that game as a kid.
My friend from New York thought it was funny we have supermarkets called "Schnooks". I felt bad having to correct her on the spelling.

I used to frequent the Tuscaloosa and northport and Hueytown stores. I stop in the 15th st one from time to time still.
You are a good man John.👍👍
2:23 thought Okada was doing a run-in on this video lol
Top gear rally was one of my favorites when i was a kid. There was quiet a few good racers on the n64.
wish I could find a large lot of cart games, just started collecting again in Jan.
I put so much time into Rugrats in Paris 64 and GBC. Awesome haul!
When I saw the monthly boxes I was expecting a lot more dollar store sport games and tetris.

Alright. A John Riggs video. I can feel the day improving already 🎉
Bebe's kids best game outta that whole lot 😂
Fun video, John. Thanks!
That looked like so much fun. Great find!
The lack of a remake for Blast Corps is shameful.
Or even a pt 2, as it was early n64 and sold well,it was a fun game
How the ELL wasn’t I subscribed? I’ve been watching this channel for yrs. 🤨
i remember playing that ken griffy jr snes game in the hospital in 6th grade in 96. broke my ribs in a go kart crash

Greetings from Poland!
Good value in shipping supplies
1k worth of junk. 👍🏼
I love how most retro sports games are cheap as dirt!
Power Kidney Stone. Heh, that's pretty good.
John Riggs my man you are a good dude
Oof, that's the problem with retro game collecting these days - everybody thinks they have gold. I'd pay like $100 for that lot at a garage sale at most 🤷♂️
Great video 😊
Dude dumped the common section on you.
I love this in its simplicity
Seems like that guy must have separately sold (or kept) the really good games.
Immortal on Amiga. Great times!
Now ur talking. I predict 500k views for this video
haha, wouldn't that be something.
@JohnRiggs good luck Riggzie. U at Retrocon X in Syracuse NY this year w Jason (MJR)?
I think you got good value for your money. Nothing worth a lot by themselves but as a whole very good.
Love these types of video.
Don't tell me that's like, Arnie's signature on that NES T2. :p
I would've paid $1000 for that and kept most of them for my collection.
I got a load of junk you can buy for $1000 if you want
Good content John!
He hosed you. The condition sucked. Be lucky to get your money back out of it.
I'd love all those 64 games
You are a great dude.
Was hoping there would be a Mystical Ninja in there 😜
